Abstract

Lagu yang berjudul “I Need Somebody” merupakan lagu yang dinyanyikan oleh band asal Korea Selatan bernama Day6. Lagu ini secara garis besar menggambarkan kesendirian seseorang yang membuatnya membutuhkan seseorang dalam hidupnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan analisis semiotika pada lirik lagu. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis makna kesendirian lirik lagu berjudul “I Need Somebody” karya Day6 dengan analisis semiotika Roland Barthes. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan berdasarkan makna denotasinya adalah penulis lagu membutuhkan seseorang karena dirinya merasa sendirian. Makna konotasinya yaitu, kepergian seseorang tanpa alasan membuat penulis merasa sendirian, ia merasa sepi dan hampa meskipun berada di sekitar orang banyak yang membuat ia harus melakukan sesuatu dan berharap seseorang datang untuk menemaninya tanpa alasan pula. Sedangkan makna mitosnya adalah penulis lagu menjelasakan bahwa dalam kehidupan, seseorang pasti membutuhkan orang lain untuk menemaninya, dan juga menjelasakan bahwa kesendirian merupakan salah satu hal yang menakutkan.

Abstract

The use of social media such as Instagram is not only for communication and sharing moments such as photos and videos but Instagram can also be used as a medium in building one's self-image in any aspect, in achieving positive and negative images, on other Instagram users. One of them is Najwa Shihab, who in fact is a public figure who often uses Instagram to share valuable moments when creating his own image. The purpose of this research is to find out the construction of Najwa Shihab's self-image on Instagram social media. As for the paradigm itself, it uses a constructivist paradigm with descriptive research type and a qualitative approach method with Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic theory. In this study, the object of his research is in the form of photos and descriptions on the @najwashihab Instagram account. The results of this study are to make components of how to form a self-image, where there are verbal and nonverbal messages seen from the sentences or captions he wrote with a characteristic and the style of photography and fashion worn by Najawa Shihab. Therefore, this study concludes that Najwa Shihab has several characteristics in building his self-image which is simple, educational, smart, humble, modern, fashionable and inspiring.

Abstract

This article aims to evaluate public opinion, specifically the followers of Instagram Volix Media, regarding the extent to which the information presented meets their needs. The issue under scrutiny pertains to Instagram Volix Media, which has been providing diverse information about Indonesian pop culture, music, film, artists, news, art, and little-known culture since 2021. To approach this issue, Cutlip & Center's theory on the characteristics of public opinion is employed, encompassing five dimensions: direction, intensity, stability, informational support, and social support. Data were collected by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents who are followers of Instagram Volix Media. The data were analyzed using a quantitative approach and descriptive methods.The results indicate that the dimension of informational support received the highest average score, suggesting that respondents have more information on the issues presented. However, the dimension of social support received the lowest average score, indicating a lack of perceived support from others regarding the opinions expressed. This article concludes that Instagram Volix Media exhibits a positive direction of opinion, with the majority of respondents agreeing that the information presented meets the needs of public information.
