Abstract

Penggunaan tanaman obat oleh masyarakat saat ini masih dalam bentuk tradisional, yaitu dengan cara direbus atau diseduh, sehingga diperlukan inovasi dalam penggunaannya yang lebih praktis, nyaman dikonsumsi, dan berkhasiat dengan dosis yang tepat. Tanaman yang dikembangkan adalah Bawang Tiwai (Eleuterine palmifolia (L) Merr) yang secara tradisional digunakan untuk obat kanker payudara, pelancar air susu ibu dan antioksidan yang dikembangkan dalam sediaan serbuk Effervescent. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) terdiri atas 3 kelompok dengan Formulasi yang berbeda pada komposisi effervescent mix yang mengandung asam tartrat, asam sitrat dan natrium bikarbonat atas dasar kaidah stokiometri, yaitu: Formula A (50%), Formula B (55%), dan Formula C (60%). Pengujian meliputi sifat fisik dan kimia serbuk serta uji hedonis (kesukaan). Formula B merupakan yang terbaik, dengan hasil uji kadar air (0,6%), kecepatan alir (11,36g/detik), kompressibilitas (12,5%), waktu larut (1,52 menit), dan pH larutan (5). Hasil tersebut memenuhi kriteria serbuk yang baik. Hasil uji Hedonis yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan Formula B sebagai produk yang paling disukai.

Abstract

            Pada masa kini perawatan kulit sangat diperlukan untuk melindungi kulit dari efek oksidatif radikal bebas yaitu dengan menggunakan antioksidan. Kulit buah manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.) mengandung xanton yang merupakan antioksidan yang sangat kuat. Antioksidan merupakan zat yang dapat menetralkan radikal bebas sehingga dapat melindungi sistem biologi tubuh dari efek merugikan yang timbul dari proses ataupun reaksi yang menyebabkan oksidasi yang berlebihan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memformulasikan ekstrak kulit buah manggis dengan konsentrasi tertentu dalam bentuk sediaan gel antioksidan dan mengetahui sifat fisik dan kimianya.            Penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian eksperimental. Obyek yang diteliti adalah ekstrak kulit buah manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.) yang diekstrasi menggunakan cara maserasi. Formula dibuat dengan mevariasikan 3 konsentrasi ekstrak etanol kulit buah manggis 0,2%, 0,4%, dan 0,6% menggunakan gelling agent karbopol 940 0,5%. Pengujian sediaan gel dilakukan terhadap organoleptis (bau, warna, tekstur), homogenitas, pH, iritasi kulit, dan daya sebar gel antioksidan.            Hasil pengujian sifat fisik, gel ekstrak etanol kulit buah manggis menggunakan basis karbopol 940  pada formula I dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 0,2% berwarna kuning keputihan, formula II dengan konsentrasi 0,4% berwarna kuning coklat muda, formula III dengan konsentrasi 0,6% berwarna kuning coklat tua dan masing-masing formula berbau oleum citri dan bertekstur kental halus, memiliki nilai pH 6 dengan homogenitas yang baik dan tidak mengiritasi. Daya sebar yang dihasilkan pada masing-masing formula gel antioksidan memiliki nilai yang tidak memenuhi persyaratan daya sebar.             Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol kulit buah manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.) dapat diformulasikan sebagai gel antioksidan. Formula gel antioksidan yang terbaik yaitu pada formula I dengan konsentrasi ektrak 0,2% dengan hasil pengujian sifat fisik yang cukup stabil serta memiliki warna yang lebih transparan. Kata Kunci : Buah manggis (Garcinia mangostana L), Antioksidan, Gel

Abstract

Leaves kerehau (Callicarpa longifolia Lam.) is one of the plants used for the treatment of malaria, ulcers, diarrhea, treatment after delivery, and fever, by drinking boiled water. Report usage and security kerehau leaves are still very few. The purpose of this study to determine the potential for acute toxicity by determining the value of LD50 (Lethal Dose 50) in 4 dose-rise that dose I, II, III, and IV of the ethanol extract of the leaves kerehau against this mice. The Research. Pharmacologically using experimental methods using a completely randomized design pattern is undirectional in the selection of test animals, They are 25 mice were divided into five groups (5 mice each group), with observed 4 hours to determine the toxic symptoms and continued observation every 24 hours for 7 days to see death. Results from this study show from 4 dose levels, dose group I = 16g / kg, group II = 8g / kg, group III = 4g / kg and group IV = 2g / kg and control = 0.5 ml Na-CMC. Symptoms namely the observation of behavior and neuromuscular but not on observations of the autonomic nervous, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and skin. LD50 value obtained is expressed by the LD50 (16g / kg) were categorized as practically non-toxic (> 15g / kg)

Abstract

Quality broilers become a serious problem for farmers. Many studies done to solve these problems, one of them by making use of natural materials. Some plants are known to have the ability to improve the quality of broilers as bitter, ginger and onions tiwai. This study aimed to determine the effect of ethanol extract of the herb on the quality of broilers. Subjects used is Strain Cobb broiler DOC. A total of 60 chickens were kept in a cage stage measuring 1.5 x 1.5 m for 30 days. Subjects were divided into five treatment where each treatment consisted of four tails. The experiment was conducted with three replications using a completely randomized design. Such treatment includes control (P0), the ethanol extract of sambiloto 0.02 % (P1), the ethanol extract of umbi bawang dayak 0.05 % (P2), the ethanol extract of temulawak 0,075 (P3), Product Imugas (P4). Quality parameters include coarse fat content and crude protein. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the treatment of all types of ethanol extract of the herb can improve the quality of broilers compared to control (sig < 0.05), the type of treatment is best to P4. Quality parameters which include : crude protein and crude lipid. Levels of the protein, which is the highest in treatment P4 by 23.87% . Fat content, which is the lowest in treatment P4 of 10.50%

Abstract

Chitosan has been widely used in industrial, food, pharmaceuticals and agriculture. Chitosan is a natural biocompatible polymers means that as nature does not have the side effect, non-toxic, can not be easily digested and broken down by microbes (biodegradable). This study aims to determine whether the chitosan may be formulated into dosage gel hand sanitizer that meets the requirements of the physical stability of the gel.Chitosan is formulated with 3 varying concentrations of Na CMC basis of 3%, 4.5% and 6%. Tests conducted gel formulation is the physical stability test which includes organoleptic test, homogeneity, pH test, test dispersive power, viscosity test and test consistency. Testing is done every week for 4 weeks of storage.Results of testing physical properties of chitosan gel hand sanitizer has the shape and color stable but the resulting aroma change during storage. pH gel meet the requirements, the consistency test of phase separation does not occur, the homogeneity test showed no homogeneous gel, gel dispersive power does not meet the requirements, the viscosity of the gel preparation third formula does not meet the requirements of viscosity gel

Abstract

Allium chinense are plants that contain bioactive compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, and saponins. The rendement of an extract may be affected by the extraction mentod used. This study aims to determine the effect of maseration and digestion extraction method on rendemen and identification of secondary metabolite in the extract of the hair onion bulbs. Research conducted is an experimental study. The samples used were hair bulbs obtained in Kota Bangun, East Kalimantan, extracted wiyh 2 extraction methods of maceration and digestion using ethanol 70% solvent and done as much as 3 times replication. Identification of secondary metabolite compounds was performed by phytochemical screening including test of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and steroids. From the test data is processed by statistical analysis. The result of rendement with 3 times replikation of digesti mentod obtained by 20,02 gram, 19,03 gram, and 19,17 gram. While the maseration method obtained for 12,38 grams, 12,45 grams, and 15,91 grams. So there are differences between the results of the results of digestion mentod and maseration mentod. Based on phytochemical screening tets showed that the thick extract of hair onion bulbs contain compounds alkaloids, flavonoids, and saponins.

Abstract

Atrial septal defect (ASD) is a congenital lesion in atrium septum. The lesion may cause pulmonary hypertension due to the high pressure in the right ventricle. This condition leads to cyanosis in ASD patient, but the pathophysiology of cyanosis in ASD patient is still unknown. This study aimed to identify the pathophysiology of cyanosis in ASD patients using the Pulmonary Vascular Resistance index (PVRi). The design of this study was retrospective cohort study. The data used in this study were the results of right heart catheterization procedure taken from forty ASD patient medical records at Dr. Sardjito general hospital. The exclusions criteria were the history of previous vasodilator administration and incomplete medical records. The median age of the patients was 30 (18-55) years old. The mean of the Qp/Qs ratio was 1.210 (0.57-6.33). Optimum oxygen saturation was found in vessel leaving the heart. The PVRi median is 61.98 (-15.58-676.64). The PVRi has a significant correlation with oxygen saturation, except in the right atrium. There is a significant correlation between PVRi and oxygen saturation in various heart chambers. Pathophysiology of cyanosis in ASD patients is central cyanosis.

Abstract

Propionibacterium acnes is one of the causes of acne. Shallot peels contain flavonoids, tannins, and saponins which potentially have antibacterial activity. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the water extracts of shallot peels have antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes and determine the concentration which can inhibit the growth of bacteria Propionibacterium acnes. This research is an experimental study. The research stage begins with the extraction of shallot peels using in the foundation. Antibacterial activity was tested using the diffusion method with the Cup-plate technique. Propionibacterium acnes used as a sample of bacteria, with extract concentrations of 5%, 10%, 20%, and 40%. Positive controls used are clindamycin 150 mg and negative controls were used dimethyl sulfoxide 1% (v / v). Data were analyzed with a statistical test of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov method. The measurement results inhibition zone of shallot peels water extract with a concentration of 5%, 10%, 20%, and 40% of the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes sequentially by 12.8 mm, 13 mm, 14.33 mm and 15.50 mm in the strong category. The measurements of bacterial growth inhibition zone were statistically analyzed with the Kruskal-Wallis method gained 0,053 results indicating that the test has a significant effect (P > 0.05) with a decision that means that there is no significant difference between all concentrations.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang pengukuran tinggi dan berat badan pada bayi. Tinggi dan berat merupakan parameter yang penting untuk dipantau bagi orang tua. Tak banyak orang tua yang menyadari bahwa berat badan bayi juga mencerminkan gizi yang merupakan hal penting untuk selalu dipantau pertumbuhannya. Pemerintah melalui posyandu menyelenggarakan sistem pelayanan pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar, kegiatan tersebut meliputi pelayanan imunisasi, pendidikan gizi masyarakat serta pelayanan kesehatan ibu dan anak. Dalam pemeriksaan gizi anak ditimbang dan dibandingkan dengan usia. Data penimbangan anak dicatat melalui kartu menuju sehat (KMS). Oleh karena itu timbul ide untuk merubah penggunaan timbangan manual yang biasa dipakai di posyandu dengan timbangan digital yang diharapkan dapat mengukur berat badan beserta tinggi secara akurasi serta mempermudah kader posyandu dalam memantau kondisi serta meminimalisir penggunaan kartu menuju sehat. Alat pengukur berat dan tinggi ini terdiri dari sensor ultrasonik yang berfungsi sebagai pengukur tinggi dan loadcell untuk mengukur berat dengan Arduino Uno sebagai pengolahan data dan ditampilkan melalui software LabVIEW dan disimpan melalu microsoft excel sehingga meminimalkan penggunaan kartu menuju sehat (KMS).
