Abstract

Production tools play an important role in determining the quantity and price of products or services produced by business actors. With the availability of adequate production tools, micro, small and medium enterprises can increase the amount of production in a more efficient time. Apart from updating production tools to sophisticated and modern tools, appropriate technology is one solution that can be used to reduce production costs. This study aims to identify the extent to which micro, small and medium enterprises in Tarakan City understand and utilize appropriate technology in running their business. In this study, a study was carried out related to the means of production used by micro, small and medium enterprises in Tarakan City. In the initial stage, a survey was conducted on the use of production equipment currently in use. Observation of the effectiveness and efficiency of production equipment is the next stage in this study. The production tools used by micro, small and medium enterprises are still using traditional equipment. With traditional tools, they feel they are able to meet sales targets. Some micro business actors also seem unwilling to update production equipment because they are worried about the increase in production costs.

Abstract

Pada industri perkapalan maupun dirgantara material aluminium banyak diaplikasikan sebagai bahan baku pembuatan kapal maupun pesawat. Aluminium dipilih karena memiliki kekuatan tarik relatif tinggi, sifat mampu bentuk yang baik, tahan terhadap korosi dan logam ringan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan teknik penyambungan logam pada aluminium. Pengelasan merupakan metode penyambungan yang sudah dilakukan sejak lama. Metode pengelasan semakin berkembang sesuai kebutuhan industri. Pengelasan FSW (Friction Stir Welding) salah satu yang dikembangkan oleh TWI. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kekuatan tarik pengelasan Friction Stir Welding dengan varisi laju pengelasan. Proses pengelasan menggunakan putaran tool 2000 RPM, dengan laju pengelasan 50 mm/min,, 100 mm/min, dan 200 mm/min. Proses FSW dilakukan pada sambungan tumpul (butt joint) Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pada laju pengelasan 50mm/min memiliki kekuatan tarik paling baikk. Kekuatan tarik menurun seiring meningkatnya kecepatan pengelasan.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai pengaruh penambahan inhibitor ekstrak bawang dayak terhadap laju korosi. Bawang dayak dipilih karena mengandung antioksidan yang kuat sebesar 94% sehingga baik untuk dijadikan inhibitor yang dapat menghambat laju korosi. Material uji yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah plat baja hitam yang rentan dan cepat terkena korosi di lingkungan air laut. Plat baja hitam direndam pada wadah berisi air laut dengan beberapa variasi penambahan bubuk ekstrak bawang dayak yakni 0 ppm, 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 150 ppm, 200 ppm. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap laju korosi logam dan efesiensi inhibitor dari uji weight loss selama interval 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, dan 30 hari. Pengujian mekanisme kerja inhibitor dianalisa melalui uji foto makro dan uji FTIR. Hasil uji weight loss dan efisiensi menunjukkan nilai laju korosi tertinggi dengan penambahan inhibitor bawang dayak sebesar 200 ppm yaitu 0,09 mm/year, dengan efisiensi terendah 21,41%. Sedangkan nilai laju korosi terendah dengan penambahan inhibitor bawang dayak sebesar 50 ppm yaitu 0,12 mm/year dengan efisiensi tertinggi 35,85%.

Abstract

Has been design of a length expansion test instrument for metal material based on electric heaters and dial gauge with iron rods metal as the test material. The purpose of this research is to design a metal material length expansion instrument and analyze the feasibility of the instrument. The main components of this expansion test tool use an electric heater and a dial gauge. The function of the electric heater is as a heater on the test specimen, while the dial indicator is used as a measuring device which is an indicator of the long expansion phenomenon. After testing the iron metal, it showed that this instrument worked well in observing the long expansion phenomenon qualitatively. However, the quantitative results show differences, where the coefficient is measured (0.000045/℃) and reference (0.000012/℃).
