Abstract

Along with the development of technology, the technique of identification of human voices based on sex is very necessary for some parties, especially in the field of education. The main parameter in distinguishing male and female voices is the frequency of the same one-word pronunciation sample with the same duration and pressure. To facilitate this, a matlab-based male and female voice differentiator application was designed and the results will be improved by the fuzzy logic method. Based on the application testing, of the 20 human voice samples tested, there was 1 sound sample that was difficult to identify, so the accuracy level was only 95%. However, by using the fuzzy logic method, 1 sound sample can be classified in the form of female voices, so the performance of male and female voice differentiator applications increases to 100%. The final results of this study obtained a range of male voice signal frequencies 81.93 Hz to 233.3 Hz while the frequency range of female voice signals 316.9 Hz to 575.5 Hz.

Abstract

It is mandatory to go through the stage of determining the type of sound in order to obtain the best choral composition. Through the FFT method with analysis using the Kmeans method, this research was successfully carried out on 30 samples of choir groups at Politeknik Negeri Balikpapan. The application is designed using the matlab gui, and is able to classify the voices of choir group based on gender, age range and sound frequency class. The test results are accurate. From the test of 30 voice samples, there were 7 adult male voices (17-45 years), and 23 types of female adult voices (17-45 years). It is broken down into 6 bass types and 1 baritone type for male gender. As for the female gender, there are 12 alto types, 2 mezzo-soprano types and 9 soprano types. The accuracy of the application is very perfect, namely 100%, so it can be concluded that the frequency range of the male voice is between 80.037 Hz – 109.266 Hz. While the frequency range of women's voices is between 108.459 Hz - 516, 677 Hz. These results are considered perfect because they have been tested by a classification process using the calculation of the input parameters using the kmeans method, although the results of the kmeans analysis have 1 error, the percentage of accuracy is still quite perfect, namely 97%. This means that the MATLAB GUI application is designed to be suitable and very useful for the world of the music industry.
