Abstract

Background: Gout arthritis caused by high uric acid in the bloodstream and accumulation of uric acid crystals in tissues of the body that joint of inflammation leading to pain, redness, heat, and swelling. Basil leaves and ginger contains flavonoid compounds that can inhibit the formation of uric acid in the body.This research aim to analyze the effect of stewing basil leaves (Ocimum Sanctum) and ginger (Zingiber officinale rosc) combination on uric acid levels in patients with gout arthritis at Kranggan Public Health Center. Method: Quasy experimental with pre post-test control design. 50 respondents were involved and divided into treatment and control group. Combination Therapy of basil leaves and ginger is given 1 time for 7 days in the morning. Data were analyze used Paired T-Test and Independent T-Test. Result: There was significant the effect of basil leaves and ginger (Zingiber officinale rosc) combination on uric acid levels in patients with gout arthritis. Pretest and posttest outcome for treatment group generate p= 0.000 and comparison group generate p=0.009 with Independent T-test outcome p=0.004 (p<0,05). Discussion: This research is useful to complementary therapy as herbal therapy to decrease uric acid level. Keywords:, Basil Leaves, Ginger, Gout Arthritis, Uric Acid Levels

Abstract

Hypertension and heart disease are global health problems increasing morbidity in Indonesia. The partner problems that were resolved were related to strengthening and optimizing cadres in helping the government related to hypertension problems in the community. Management of hypertension is considered complex because blood pressure tends to be unstable. The purpose is to optimize the empowerment of cadres, Health Cadre of Cardiovascular and Hypertension (KASMARAN), with the application of the Health Promotion Model in the prevention and control of hypertension. KASMARAN was formed with the concept of, by, and for people with hypertension, meaning that trained cadres can quickly educate the public. The location is in Grogol Village, Depok City, West Java. The result is an increase in knowledge of cadres based on the pre-test and post-test results, as much as 93%. Health education is expected to create a healthy community so that it can increase knowledge, attitudes, and awareness to be able to prevent and control hypertension and heart disease

Abstract

In preventing the spread of COVID-19 transmission, it is deemed necessary to strengthen the prevention of COVID-19 transmission in people with vulnerable groups and COVID-19 comorbidities. Hypertension is a non-communicable disease of concern during the COVID-19 pandemic. Education plays an essential role in efforts to improve blood pressure control for the application of behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic in hypertensive patients. This study aimed to determine the effect of Hypertension Self Management Education (HSME) on blood pressure of hypertensive patients during the COVID pandemic. The research method is a quasi-experimental method using pre-test and post-test with control group design. The research sample consisted of 42 respondents divided into 22 intervention groups and 22 control groups. The results showed that there was an effect of Hypertension Self Management Education (HSME) on systolic and diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.00 < 0.05). Thus, there is an effect of HSME on blood pressure in hypertensive patients at Posbindu Dahlia Senja, Depok. Therefore, nurses are advised to provide HSME health education to control the blood pressure of hypertensive patients and utilize HSME as a health promotion program.
