Abstract

Students usually tend to view statistics subject negatively. These students’ attitudes toward statistics and their implications for statistics instruction have long been a commonly shared interest among statistics educators. It causes educators modify their teaching according to suggestions from the research literature, and to use assessment to determine if their teaching is effective and if students are developing statistical under­standing and competence. Besides that, positive thinking should be built when learning process is running. Nowadays, statistics has recently applied in education, technology, politics, business, etc.

Abstract

This paper is intended to describe the integration of mathematics as a representative of science with Islam. Integration between Islam and science have to create a new paradigm with other cosmology today. In this context, a new cosmology has religious consciousness implications, because it does not only focus on the laws of physics, but also find the fact as the Creator of the universe. Moreover, the Qur’an is not only talking about the science but also mathematics. Tulisan ini ditujukan untuk mendeskripsikan integrasi matematika sebagai wakil dari sains atau ilmu pengetahuan dengan Islam. Integrasi antara Islam dan ilmu pengetahuan harus menciptakan paradigma baru dengan kosmologi lainnya saat ini. Dalam konteks ini, kosmologi baru memiliki implikasi kesadaran religius, karena tidak hanya fokus pada hukum fisika, tetapi juga menemukan kenyataan sebagai Pencipta alam semesta. Selain itu, al-Qur’an tidak hanya berbicara tentang ilmu pengetahuan tetapi juga matematika.

Abstract

Like other lessons, mathematics has learning objectives in affective domain besides in cognitive and psychomotor domain. Formally, this can be seen in the formulation of the objectives of mathematics learning, as stated in the curriculum. The success of learning in cognitive and psychomotor is strongly influenced by students' affective condition. Students who have a good interest in learning and a positive attitude towards mathematics will be happy to learn math, so optimal learning outcomes can be achieved. Students of Tarbiya Faculty as prospective teachers should have good affective in order not to complicate students in the future. This article describe about students’ affective in mathematics. According to the data, it can be concluded that students’ affective is good. This condition must be nurtured and enhanced.

Abstract

Abstract : Geometry is one of the most important topics in mathematic. A teacher may know students’ geometric thought so the students can learan effectively. This paper describes how student learn to reason in geometry referring to Van Hiele theory. The best know part of the theory are the five levels which the van Hieles postulated. The levels are visualization, analysis, abstraction, deduction and rigor. The study shows that the student are in alanysis level generally. Abstract

Abstract: Teachers’ professional competence is interesting to study. The datasaid that Indonesian teachers’ professional competence is still low, it’s supportedby score of teachers’ competence test. This study aims to describe elementaryschool teachers’ professional competence in Purwokerto. The professionalcompetence is supported by four indicators. The result of this study shows that theteachers have a high score for mastering mathematics material, a middle score formaking problem relating to daily life, and low score for solving problem with morethan one way and giving reason for steps of solving problem.Keywords: Competence, professional, teacher, mathematics. Abstrak: kompetensi profesional guru menarik untuk dikaji. Data mengatakanbahwa kompetensi profesional guru di Indonesia masih rendah, itu didukung olehskor guru uji kompetensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkankompetensi profesional guru sekolah dasar di Purwokerto. Kompetensi profesionaldidukung oleh empat indikator. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa gurumemiliki skor tinggi untuk menguasai materi matematika, nilai tengah untukmembuat masalah yang berkaitan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, dan skor rendahuntuk memecahkan masalah dengan lebih dari satu cara dan memberikan alasanuntuk langkah-langkah pemecahan masalah.Kata kunci: Kompetensi, profesional, guru, matematika.

Abstract

Self-efficacy of students plays a role in determining student success in learning, including learning mathematics. Affective aspects such as self-efficacy, play a major role when students work and use mathematics, because to be able to solve mathematical problems is not enough just to know how to do it, but must be accompanied by self-efficacy about the truth of the concepts and procedures they have. This research was conducted in two groups of students using an instrument in the form of a questionnaire to measure students' self-efficacy. Observation data collection techniques were also conducted to determine the learning process of the two groups. The results showed that groups of students who used active and cooperative learning had higher self-efficacy. Keywords: self-efficacy, mathematics, cooperative learning.

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep matematika di SMP Negeri 2 Patikraja masih sangat rendah, terutama dalam pemahaman konsep bangun ruang. Berkaitan dengan hal ini, perlu adanya inovasi dalam penyampaian materi pembelajaran, salah satunya dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran yang mendorong peserta didik untuk lebih aktif dalam proses belajar mengajar di kelas yaitu reciprocal teaching. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektifitas penggunaan model reciprocal teaching dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa SMP. Penelitian ini berjenis quasi experimen dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Adapun instrument yang digunakan untuk mengukur pemahaman konsep adalah tes yang terdiri dari soal-soal uraian. Tes diberikan sebelum dan setelah pembelajaran, lalu dianalisis dengan menggunakan n-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran reciprocal teaching efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. Hal ini terlihat dari n-gain kelompok eksperimen yang berada pada kategori sedang yaitu 0.463, sedangkan rata-rata n-gain kelompok kontrol adalah 0.259 yang termasuk pada kategori rendah.Kata kunci: pemahaman konsep, reciprocal teaching, matematika.

Abstract

The uncertainty due to the COVID-19 outbreak has encouraged investors to look for value hedging instruments to minimize risk, which can be in the form of hedging assets or safe-haven assets. In response to it, this study aims to find out whether Bitcoin, Ethereum, and gold can behave as hedging and safe-haven assets before and amid the pandemic in Indonesia. The strategy is by observing the effects of volatility and return of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and gold on the Indonesian stock market. This study employed both quantile regression and simple linear regression models on data of daily closing price taken before and during COVID-19. This study finds that they can be hedge and safe-haven assets during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The findings show some significant correlations between assets that can help investors determine which assets can be hedging instruments.
