Abstract

Background : Disease control is transmitted by mosquitoes are mostly done, one of them the use of insecticide-treated bed nets, mosquito nets coated with mosquito repellent and not harmful to health. The aim of this research is to know the effectiveness of application of insecticide treated mosquito nets in malaria vector control in Tanah Bumbu Regency.Methods :Quantitative research methods, cross sectional design and quasi experiments. Population, the entire population get a mosquito net. Samples, residents willing to take blood, interviewed. Determination of sample behavior and Mass Blood Survey of 100 respondents using purposive sampling.Results: MBS 100 samples, positive 7 respondents 2 org plasmodium vivax, 5 org plasmodium falciparum. The result of the behavior of insecticide treated bed nets (53%) of respondents received and used bed nets and (47%) received and not used. Result of bio essay test 20 mosquito net and 2 control show 5 mosquito net still effective killing An mosquito. Aconitus, with 82,67- 100% mortality, while 15 other bed nets are ineffective.Conclusion : The conclusion is the decrease of malaria case after use of mosquito net with SPR 7%. Recommendation, to forest workers to keep wearing insecticide-treated bed nets, using repellents and taking prophylactic drugs while working in the forest. Keywords: Effectiveness, insecticide-treated nets, Anopheles

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) still be a health problem in Indonesia. Aedes aegypti as a main vector of DHF. Vector controls do to minimize vector population. It must has integrate effort such as chemicalchemical?, biology, radiation and mechanic. This research aimed to describe the use of household insecticides in 3 (three) endemic DHF area at Hulu Sungai Utara District. This was descriptive research done using cross sectional design. Analize unit is household insecticides at 100 house which ABJ survey in 3 (three) location research. This research used interviews with questionnaires. The results showed mayority household insecticides at endemic DHF areas is dimeflutrin. Mayority household insecticides used at night, once a day and more than 5 years. In 2 (two) endemic DHF areas mostly used coil and 1 (one) endemic DHF area mostly used aerosol. Time, frecuency and duration of household insecticides can make DHF trasmition and vector resistant. Abstrak Penyakit Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) masih menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat Indonesia. Di Indonesia yang menjadi vektor utama dari penyakit DBD adalah Aedes aegypti. Upaya untuk menurunkan kepadatan populasi nyamuk Aedes aegypti sampai serendah mungkin dilakukan dengan cara pengendalian vektor terpadu. Beberapa pengendalian vektor antara lain kimiawi, biologis, radiasi, dan mekanik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pola penggunaan insektisida rumah tangga yang digunakan di 3 (tiga) daerah endemis DBD di Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Utara Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan pada tahun 2015 yaitu Kelurahan Sungai Malang, Kelurahan Antasari dan Desa Kota Raja. Unit analisis adalah insektisida rumah tangga yang ada di 100 rumah tangga tempat survei Angka Bebas Jentik di 3 (tiga) lokasi penelitian. Informasi penggunaan insektisida diperoleh dari wawancara. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan metode univariat menggunakan pivot table yang kemudian digambarkan dalam grafik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa mayoritas insektisida rumah tangga yang paling banyak digunakan di 3 (tiga) daerah endemis DBD Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Utara adalah dimeflutrin. Penggunaan insektisida rumah tangga kebanyakan dilakukan pada malam hari dengan frekuensi setiap hari selama lebih dari 5 tahun. Insektisida rumah tangga paling banyak diaplikasikan dengan cara dibakar atau formulasi coil di 2 (dua) daerah endemis sedangkan di 1 (satu) daerah endemis paling banyak menggunakan aerosol. Waktu penggunaan, frekuensi pemakaian dan lama pemakaian insektisida dapat menjadi faktor yang memungkinkan masih terjadinya proses transmisi DBD dan penyebab resistensi pada vektor DBD.
