Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of lean manufacturing practices on profitability mediated by inventory minimization in the electronics and automotive industries in Indonesia. Given the critical role of lean manufacturing and inventory minimization to increase a company's profitability, a company needs to implement lean manufacturing practices to eliminate waste at the operational level. A low but adequate inventory level will reduce costs borne by the company to contribute to the company's profitability. This research is a replication of Nawanir et al. (2013) study. In the current study, the samples taken were 204 large manufacturing companies that refer to the 2015 Indonesian Standard Business Field Classification (KBLI), with codes KBLI 26 and 29. Company data were obtained from a directory provided by the Data and Information Center of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia (Pusdatin Ministry of Industry). Hypothesis testing using the Partial Least Square technique (smartPLS 3.0 software) shows that lean manufacturing practices implemented as a whole by the company especially in the electronics and automotive industries can minimize inventory and ultimately contribute positively to the company's profitability. Abstract

Cloud kitchen is a food service business system that does not serve dine-in orders and only focuses on serving delivery. This study aims to identify the characteristics, challenges, and critical success factors of cloud kitchen-based culinary businesses. Critical success factors will be analyzed from the point of view of cloud kitchen’s tenants as well as from the consumer's point of view. The research method used is the mixed method. The research begins with a qualitative method, employing phenomenology approach. Characteristics found in the study were low cost, simpler operational activities, and unique branding. The challenges are dependency on the aggregator, profit margin, voice of customer, and branding. Meanwhile, the critical success factors identified in the study are sales promotion, food taste, brand reputation, online rating, packaging, and hygiene. Then, the research is continued by distributing questionnaires to determine the critical success factors from the consumer's perspective as the independent variable, repurchase intention as the dependent variable, and customer satisfaction as the intervening variable. The results showed a significant influence on repurchase intention of all critical success factors mediated by customer satisfaction. Critical success factors also affect repurchase intention directly except for the hygiene factor. Meanwhile, the importance of critical success factors according to the consumer's point of view from the most important factors are food taste, sales promotion, brand reputation, rating in applications, food hygiene, and product packaging. Abstract

PT Mechanical Electrical Provider (an alias name, henceforth MEP) is a company that focuses on the telecommunications sector as a mechanical & electrical supplier. It was found that the company was still experiencing inventory problems, such as needing more goods and excess goods from its inventory system. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the inventory problems and provides recommendations for the inventory system design. This study uses a qualitative approach by interviewing five officers and staffs in the Procurement Division. Next, this study uses fishbone analysis to find the causes of the problems faced by PT MEP. The Fishbone diagram shows several causes of the inventory problems: people, equipment, method, and material causes. This study uses the quantitative approach by applying the ABC Classification to determine the classification of each item and the best way to control it. There are 6 A-class items, 14 B-class items, and 21 C-class items pada PT MEP. From the ABC classification, A-class products use the Continuous Review Model (Q-system) calculation for an optimal amount and the right time of replenishing inventory. For class B and C classification, the design suggests a Periodic Review Model (P-system) to find the optimal amount for refilling using the difference between the target inventory and the amount of inventory at the time of checking. Through the new system, this research expects a more optimal inventory so that the company can reduce the cost losses incurred so far. Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of big data analytics capability (BDAC) on company supply chain performance and whether partnerships between entities in the supply chain moderate this relationship. The ability of Indonesian companies to exploit and analyze big data is increasingly crucial in the Industry 4.0 era. This research uses a survey method, where the population is manufacturing companies in Indonesia, represented by respondents working in the supply chain management scope. The data from 130 companies was analyzed to test the instrument, data distribution, and hypotheses using the linear regression method. The research results show a significant and positive relationship between the human resources and intangibles variables from BDAC on supply chain performance. Still, there is no significant relationship between the tangibles variables from BDAC and supply chain performance. In addition, no moderating effect of supply chain partnerships was found on the relationship between BDAC and supply chains. The research implications will enrich the field of supply chain management, especially regarding the implementation of Industry 4.0 technology, and be a consideration for managers in efforts to improve supply chain performance.
