Abstract

This study aims to analyze the species composition and vegetation structure in the succession process in the Natural Recreation Park (NRP) of Kupang District, East Nusa Tenggara Province. Data collection using vegetation analysis on two NRP namely Baumata and Camplong. Research shows that the highest important value index of the seedling level is krinyu (Chromolaena odorata L.) in Baumata NRP (115 %), sapling is johar (Senna siamea) in Camplong NRP (141 %), and for pole and tree are kesambi (Schleichera oleosa, Merr) and jati (Tectona grandis linn. F) on Baumata NRP about 135,5% and 137,1%, respectively. A high value of seedling density indicates that all research location in the succession process.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out rice plant technology innovation level in East Kupang Sub District, to find out the effect of extension agent’s role and job motivation on rice plant technology innovation, and to find out the simultaneous effect of extension agent’s role and motivation on rice plant technology innovation. Data analysis was conducted using multiple regression analysis. The result of research found that Rice Plant Cultivation Technology Innovation (Y) in East Kupang Sub District belonged to medium category (78.33%); it is indicated with the aspect of rice plant cultivation technology innovation dissemination by extension agent of 74.50% only and the aspect of farmers’ participation in wet-rice cultivation technology of 66.17%. The agricultural extension agent’s role factor belonged to high category (50.00%), while agricultural extension agent’s motivation factor belonged to medium category (60.00%). Agricultural Extension Agent factor affected significantly the rice cultivation technology innovation (Y), as indicated with three aspects: extension agent’s role as educator and facilitator, role as analyzer and planner, and role as evaluation expert of activity and education result. Agricultural extension agent’s motivation factor significantly affected the rice cultivation technology innovation (Y), as indicated with three aspects: extension agent’s motivation on basic need, status/social need, and work performance need. Extension agent’s role and motivation simultaneously affected rice plant technology innovation with Fstatistic value of 13.11.

Abstract

This research was conducted in order to understand the potential of landslide hazards in the Manikin Watershed and to map the slide hazards so that they can be used as a reference in conducting landslide disaster mitigation. The method used was scoring which was based on the Regulation of Minister of Public Works Number 22 /PRT/M/2007 about Guidelines for Spatial Planning for Landslide Disaster Prone Areas, and the parameter used were soil type, geological formation, rainfall, land use, and slopes. The results of the research showed that the landslide potential in the Manikin Watershed is dominated by Low Landslide Class which is 6,924.703 Ha in the area or 54.912 %. The next is the Medium Landslide Class which covers an area of 3,881.911 Ha or 30.783%, the High Landslide Class covers an area of 1,758.058 Ha or 13.941%, and the Very High Landslide Class covers an area of 45.96 Ha or 0.364%.  Keywords: Mapping, Landslide, Manikin Watershed, Geographic Information System (GIS)
