Abstract

Patients with COVID-19 who are in the ICU considered to be extremely high malnutrition, which is caused by food intake matter and the disease itself. In critically ill, the definition of malnutrition is not only based on weight loss but also muscle wasting, sarcopenia and metabolic dysregulation. Good nutrition management prevents malnutrition getting worse. Nutritional theraphy is an essential element of the patients management. Nutritional screening and assessment, as well as nutritional management, should be integrated into general therapeutic strategy. Nutrition theraphy to ICU patients with COVID-19 has been published by some institutions/organizations.

Abstract

Vitamin deficiency is often appeared in medical ill patients. The vitamin deficiency can be deficiency favouring disease development, inadequacy or deficit worsening the condition, or deficiency as a result of disease. Recommendation number 1 from ESPEN micronutrient guideline 2022 is adequate amounts of all essential trace elements and vitamins shall be supplied to all patients receiving medical nutrition from the beginning of the period of nutritional support.

Abstract

Adequate body fluid is beneficial for maintaining physiology, cognitive function, and concentration, which are important for students. The purpose of this study was to determine knowledge, attitude, and behavior regarding hydration and fluid consumption and fluis intake of university students in Jakarta.
