Abstract

Language style refers to how people use words and tone of voice to manipulate others and control their interactions to convey messages or ideas. Language style is defined by the selection and selection of linguistic forms produced by a person or group of people. The purpose of this study is to identify and classify the dramatic language styles found in cosmetic advertisements. In this qualitative research, the author uses a descriptive method through several stages: research design, data sources, research instrument, techniques of collecting data, and techniques of analysis data. The focus of this research is the analysis of dramatic language style in television cosmetic advertisements. In this analysis, it can be concluded that dramatic language style is a style of language that exaggerates and sometimes does not match reality.

Abstract

This study aims to find out what challenges are experienced by inclusive children at SD Alam Mahira Bengkulu. Children with special needs are children with special characteristics that are different from children in general who always show mental, emotional, or physical retardation. Blind, deaf, learning difficulties, behavior disorders, and children with health problems who are included in Children with special needs or children with special needs. According to the 1945 Constitution article 31 paragraph 1 which reads: that all Indonesian citizens have the right to receive it, that is clear from the law. Quality education today, regardless of this aspect. This is because. The government is obliged to provide good education. No exception for children with special needs. Challenges are things or objects that upload a determination to improve the ability to solve problems. Exemplified as a stimulus to work harder and so on. Challenges are things or objects that need to be addressed. According to Fatimah Djajasudarma in Linguistic Method of Research and Study Methods (1993) text can be in the form of utterances, paragraphs, or discourses. Meanwhile, in the Big Indonesian Dictionary, challenge comes from a basic word which means a thing or object that needs to be overcome. Attitudes to the Challenges of Inclusive Education The development of teacher skills and teaching models is needed to support inclusive education. Inclusive education training for teachers is also a factor that can influence attitudes towards inclusive education.

Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu adalah salah satu bentuk pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa. Di Desa Air Meles Bawah terdapat permasalahan siswa kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal yang berkaitan dengan operasi hitung perkalian bilangan. Operasi hitung perkalian sebagai penjumlahan secara berulang. Rendahnya kemampuan siswa kemungkinan dipengaruhi oleh teknik pembelajaran yang kurang efektif, serta belum optimal pengembangan penerapan matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Solusinya adalah penulis menyiapkan program kerja penggunaan operasi tangan atau dikenal dengan jarimatika untuk membantu operasi perkalian agar dapat memudahkan anak-anak menghitung perkalian yang sering kali dilupakan dan sulit bagi mereka untuk mengoperasikannya. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dipakai adalah lembar kerja siswa berupa seperti angket, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah anak-anak yang mengikuti bimbingan belajar pada masing – masing kelas, sebanyak kurang lebih 30 orang anak. Setelah menggunakan jarimatika terdapat kenaikan untuk jawaban yang benar. Kemudian peningkatan kecepatan untuk menyelesaikan masalah matematika operasi perkalian, sudah terdapat peningkatan yang penulis rasakan jika diberi soal secara lisan tentang perkalian maka anak-anak sudah mulai terbiasa dengan jarimatika sehingga penyelesaian masalah matematika pun cepat terselesaikan. Abstract

This article aims to analyze the strategies of 6th-semester students of one of the private universities in Bengkulu in designing a lesson plan for their Microteaching courses. This research was qualitative and used interviews to collect data, as well as using descriptive patterns to present data, not using numbers. Interviews were used in this study to find out what strategies were used by sixth-semester students of the English Department. The results of this study highlighted the preparation of the teaching process, the problems faced by pre-service teachers, and some strategies they use in preparing lesson plans. This article is expected to provide a better understanding of strategies for designing a lesson plan.

Abstract

Final year students are prone to stress, especially academic stress in thesis writing. This study aimed to find out the academic stress scale of final year English students at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu (UMB) English Language Education Study Program in writing a thesis during the Covid-19 pandemic and to determine the most dominant academic stress scale among final year students at the English Language Education Study Program UMB in writing a thesis during the Covid-19 pandemic. In this study, researchers used descriptive quantitative research method to obtain data. The subjects of this study were even semester English students at UMB who were working on their thesis. The sample of this research was 57 students of the UMB English Education Study Program who were doing their thesis writing and guidance. The instruments used in this study were a Google form questionnaire and an interview guide. Questionnaire was used to obtain data about students' academic stress levels. There are two findings from this study, namely: (1) there are three academic stress scales for final year English students writing their thesis during a pandemic at UMB, namely; low stress scale (9.21%), moderate stress scale (32.46%), and high stress scale (58.33%); and (2) The most dominant academic stress scale for final year English students in writing their thesis during the Covid-19 pandemic was a high stress level. For final year students, they can reduce stress levels to avoid adverse effects on their mental and physical health such as asking for help from close friends or family to always support them during thesis writing. Keywords: academic  stress scale; writing thesis; final year english studentsAbstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui skala stres akademik mahasiswa tingkat akhir Bahasa Inggris di Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris UMB dalam menulis skripsi di masa pandemi Covid-19 dan untuk mengetahui skala stres akademik yang paling dominan di kalangan mahasiswa tingkat akhir di Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris. Prodi Pendidikan UMB dalam penulisan skripsi di masa pandemi Covid-19. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif untuk memperoleh data. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa bahasa Inggris semester genap Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu yang sedang mengerjakan skripsi. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 57 mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris UMB yang sedang mengerjakan skripsi dan bimbingan. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner Google form dan pedoman wawancara. Kuesioner digunakan untuk memperoleh data tentang tingkat stres akademik siswa. Ada dua temuan dari penelitian ini, yaitu: (1) ada tiga skala stres akademik untuk mahasiswa bahasa Inggris tingkat akhir yang menulis tesis mereka selama pandemi di UMB, yaitu; skala stres rendah (9,21%), skala stres sedang (32,46%), dan skala stres tinggi (58,33%); dan (2) Skala stres akademik mahasiswa tingkat akhir bahasa Inggris yang paling dominan dalam menulis skripsi selama pandemi Covid-19 adalah tingkat stres yang tinggi. Bagi mahasiswa tingkat akhir dapat mengurangi tingkat stres untuk menghindari dampak buruk bagi kesehatan mental dan fisik mereka seperti meminta bantuan teman dekat atau keluarga untuk selalu mendukung mereka selama penulisan skripsi.Kata Kunci: skala stres akademik; menulis tesis; siswa bahasa inggris tahun terakhir

Abstract

This study aims to determine how much influence the scientific writing course has on the ability to write English sentences in semester 6 students of the English Language Education Study Program, University of Muhammadiyah Bengkulu. Where as we know that writing activities in their function as productive skills are still considered difficult by students. Things like this are usually caused by several factors such as limited knowledge of vocabulary and a lack of understanding of English grammar. These factors are the main cause of the difficulty for students to develop ideas and write English sentences properly and correctly. Therefore, one of the methods used to overcome this problem is to practice writing a lot, one of which is in scientific writing courses.
