Abstract

With the drastic increase in competition in the future, the readiness of human resources is an essential factor that should not be ignored. One way to prepare qualified human resources is through education. However, for some students, the cost of education in Indonesia is still too expensive, so not a few students are unable to continue their education to higher education. A team of lecturers from Pamulang University, in collaboration with Myskat Empat Ribu (MER) organized a fundraising webinar. This webinar aims not only to raise funds to be distributed to orphaned students who are threatened with dropping out of university but also to provide information to scholarship hunters. This webinar results in scholarship hunters knowing other programs to study abroad besides scholarships. Apparently, not many students/ lecturers do not know the research/teaching assistanceship program.

Abstract

The rise of various investment and payment offers loaded with the lure of high returns is undoubtedly very attractive to investors. However, recently there have been many incidents related to investment and payment. Due to the risk of investment and payments that cause investors to be deceived or bankrupt (due to a lack of understanding about suitable investments), it is necessary to socialize and enlighten investors, especially those new to the investment world. With this background, a webinar, “The Dark Shadows of Investment and Payments,” was organized to socialize and provide potential investors with knowledge. This activity is also accompanied by fundraising through continuous community service to help students in need to achieve the high quality of education. The donations collected through this webinar were then distributed as scholarships to students who need tuition assistance. This scholarship is prioritized for an underprivileged student.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country of diversity, with a variety of different cultures incorporated into the national identity. With a great range of cultural groups existing in Indonesia, it is essential for teachers to implement a cultural approach in their mathematics classes to ensure that students from all backgrounds have the opportunity to learn and understand the academic content. This article intends to explore the topics of multicultural education in mathematics classrooms. It has been found in the pieces of literature available that an appreciation of cultural dissimilarities can be beneficial and should be seen as an advantage rather than a shortcoming. To accommodate this peculiarity, there are strategies that can be utilized such as funds of knowledge, ethnomathematics, and also storytelling within mathematics lessons. These strategies grant teachers multiple methods of preserving culture while at the same time teaching mathematics effectively and efficiently.
