Abstract

ABSTRACT The quality of clean water is a standard for drinking water companies when water is distributed from a Clean Water Treatment Installation (CWTI). Tto remove all particles from the raw there is important processing steps to obtain clean water such as pathogenic bacteria so that it is suitable for consumption. To remove of these pathogenic bacteria, using disinfection. The disinfectant that is often used is chlorine. The purpose is to analyze the presence of free chlorine residual in the distribution network of PDAM Bantul Regency with EPANET 2.0. This study is a quantitative study using correlation and regression analysis, while descriptive analysis is explained through tables and graphs. Sampling using purposive sampling as many as 80 samples. According to Permenkes RI 736 / MENKES / PER / VI / 2010, the average residual chlorine in the distribution pipe for the morning and afternoon. Also the conditions for an average temperature of ± 3 ° C and a pH range of 6.5 - 8.5 have been met. There is a relationship about the decreasing concentration of residual chlorine, the higher the pH value, but there is no correlation between temperature and residual chlorine.

Abstract

Bioethanol is a renewable and environmentally friendly energy source that can overcome the depletion of oil resources in Indonesia and reduce the increase in greenhouse gases. Organic waste can be one of the raw materials for bioethanol production because of its abundant availability. This research was conducted to determine the potential for organic waste to be processed into bioethanol. This study used vegetable waste, fruit waste, and leaf waste and then fermented using yeast containing Saccharomyces c. The addition of nutrients (urea and NPK) and fermentation time for 3 days, 5 days, and 7 days were carried out to determine the effect on the resulting ethanol content. The production of bioethanol is carried out using the SSF (Simultaneous Saccharification and Fermentation) method so that the hydrolysis and fermentation processes occur simultaneously. The results showed that the highest ethanol content was 18.79% with a fermentation time of 5 days and the addition of 25 gr urea. The addition of nutrients and fermentation time affects the ethanol levels produced.

Abstract

Penjaringan Sari is one of the urban villages in Surabaya. Based on the explanation from the Surabaya City Health and Garden Office, the most waste generation comes from household waste (residential areas) which reaches 79.19% of the total waste generation. Currently in Surabaya is facing an outbreak of an easily transmitted disease called Covid 19. This has resulted in reduced activities outside the home which automatically increase the number of activities at home. Waste generation in 2017 averaged 0.35 kg / person per day. This research will be compared with previous research to find out how household waste is generated during the Covid 19 pandemic and the composition of household waste in residential areas in Penjaringan Sari Village, Surabaya City. Household waste generation in residential areas, flats, and villages in Penjaringan Sari village during the Covid 19 pandemic amounted to 0.361 kg / person per day, 0.345 kg / person per day, and 0.530 kg / person per day. Which means an increase of 0.09 kg / person per day for residential areas, 0.063 kg / person per day for the apartment area, and 0.044 kg / person per day for the village area. The composition of household waste in the Penjaringan sari village is dominated by compostable waste and the composition of waste that experienced the largest increase was plastic, cloth, glass and metal waste.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Panyuran beach is a very famous tourist destination in the Tuban area is an average number of tourists in the last 3 months, from August to October 2020, is 25,199 people. The research time had been carried out for 14 days in the Panyuran beach.tourism area using the data collection method, namely the Simple Random Sampling method. The results obtained are 400 kg of total waste generation and divided into 25 kg of paper waste, 66 kg of organic waste, 10 kg of non-organic waste, and 299 kg of plastic waste. For plastic waste that is suitable for recycling, which is 299 kg, and the remaining 101 kg is waste other than plastic waste which will be forwarded to the TPS.

Abstract

Along with the development of a country, industrial growth in that country will increase. As industrial development increases, the waste generated will also continue to increase. PT SIER's waste treatment process produces by-products in the form of sludge from the Aktif sludge treatment process, one of which is the composting process using the vermicomposting method with the help of earthworms (Lumbricus rubellus). This study aims to determine the effect of the number of earthworms (Lumbricus rubellus) on the C/N ratio of vermicomposting from WWTP sludge at PT. Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut (SIER) and to determine the effect of composting time on C/N ratio of vermicomposting from sludge WWTP PT. Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut (SIER). This study used a reactor size of 20 cm high, the type of earthworm (Lumbricus rubellus) with a length of 7-10 cm, 1.5 kg of sawdust and 5 kg of sludge with a sampling time of 7 days, 14 days, 21 days, 28 days, and 32 days. day. The results of this study showed that composting using earthworms (Lumbricus rubellus) could reduce the content of the C/N ratio by 14.89 in reactor 5 with the number of worms 30 on the 32nd day of composting and the lowest decrease was 23.51 in reactor 1 with the number of worms. 10 worms with a composting time of 32 days

Abstract

The Mojokerto City Environment Service explained that the amount of waste generated per day in Mojokerto City reached 66,404 m3/day. In RT 01/RW 03, Wates Village, there is a B-TRI waste bank when work from home experienced a significant decline. This study aims to determine the generation before and during WFH, to determine the public's understanding of the recycling aspect of inorganic waste, and to find solutions for the waste bank to continue to run well. In 2020, the generation of inorganic waste is 0.17 kg/person/day. When working from home, the generation of inorganic waste had a yield of 0.07 kg/person/day and found a decrease of 0.1 kg/person/day compared to before the WFH period. Things that affect the decline also occur due to factors, behaviors and attitudes of the people who are starting to care less about the environment.

Abstract

Sludge treatment at the IPLT is an advanced treatment activity the sewage sludge in the septic tank is not suitable for disposal to the environment because it still contains organic a high. The Jabon Sidoarjo IPLT is the object of research and aims to determine the environmental impact caused by the sewage sludge treatment process at the Jabon Sidoarjo IPLT using the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Method. Life cycle assessment (LCA) is used to conduct an environmental impact assessment using the Impact 2002+ method and using a gate to gate approach. The data for each processing process was analyzed with SimaPro 9.0 software. The three biggest contributions of the LCA analysis on the sewage treatment process are non-renewable energy, global warming, and respiratory inorganics. The recommended alternative improvement programs are the application of green buildings in the area around the processing plant, the use of inverters in an effort to save electricity, regular monitoring of cleaning or updating of the processing unit.

Abstract

Residential well water located close to the TPA location has been regulated in SNI 03-3241-1997, which must not be less than 100 m apart. But in reality the distance between the settlement and the landfill is only 600 m so that the well water in the settlement is polluted, therefore this study was conducted to set aside the nitrate, COD, and TSS parameters by electrocoagulation. This study aims to make people in the settlements get clean water solutions and also to know the characteristics of sludge generation in the electrocoagulation reactor. The result of the study showed that the highest nitrate removal rate was 86,88%, COD removal was 78,66%, and TSS removal was 99,70%. While the sludge content obtained COD of 507.6 mg/L, TSS of 9.06 mg/L, and aluminum of 0.3 mg/L. The results of the test on the sludge generation require further research on its processing.

Abstract

Kebisingan yang berada di PDAM Kota Samarinda dihasilkan oleh alat kerja dan mesin-mesin yang digunakan untuk memproduksi air minum. Efek kebisingan dapat mengganggu percakapan seseorang dan dapat menyebabkan tuli. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis tingkat kebisingan yang ditimbulkan dan menganalisis pengaruh gangguan kebisingan yang ditimbulkan oleh mesin produksi terhadap kinerja karyawan PDAM Tirta Kencana Kota Samarinda. Alat ukur kebisingan menggunakan Sound Level Meter (SLM) dan dilakukan analisis regresi linier berganda. Tingkat kebisingan pada area kerja PDAM Tirta Kencana Kota Samarinda berkisar 70,66-77,39 dBA. Menurut KepmenLH No. 48 Tahun 1996, tingkat kebisingan pada lingkungan kegiatan industri yaitu 70 dBA, sehingga melebihi baku tingkat kebisingan. Namun jika mengacu pada Permenaker No. 5 Tahun 2018 menyatakan Nilai Ambang Batas (NAB) Kebisingan pada pekerja yang terpapar kebisingan selama 8 jam adalah 85 dBA, sehingga tidak melebihi NAB. Berdasarkan analisis regresi linier berganda, Variabel Gangguan Komunikasi (X2) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Kinerja Karyawan, karena p- value (0,00) < alpha (0,05).

Abstract

Emisi gas buang CO dan CO2 kendaraan bermotor dapat meningkatkan pemanasan global warming dan menyebabkan gangguan kesehatan. Emisi terbentuk dari hasil pembakaran yang berasal dari kendaraan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Teminal Arjosari yang bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kendaraan, menguji emisi kendaraan menggunakan alat uji emisi (Gas and Smoke Autocheck), menghitung dan menganalisis beban emisi CO dan CO2 ketika kendaraan bergerak dan ketika waktu menunggu serta mengetahui keeratan hubungan antara karakteristik kendaraan dengan emisi CO dan CO2 yang dihasilkan. Perhitungan emisi menggunakan persamaan IPCC dan Taylor. Beban emisi dari hasil alat uji untuk CO tertinggi oleh angkot sebesar 2,48%, dan untuk CO2 oleh taxi sebesar 13,92%, tetapi semua emisi yang dihasilkan masih dibawah baku mutu serta antara beban emisi CO dan CO2 berbanding terbalik. Karakteristik kendaraan memiliki hubungan korelasi yang mendekati sempurna dengan beban emisi yang dihasilkan.
