Abstract

This research aims to analyze and determine: (1) economic structure in Province of Maluku and 2) key sectors becoming a development priority. This research uses input-output analysis, which is based on the table data of input-output domestic transactions of Maluku in 2007 based on the producer price which is the last year data published by the classification of 9 economic sectors. The research data is secondary data with data collection technique through documentation and reports research relevant to the research discussion. The results showed that (1) the largest IDK value (above average) was obtained in the trade, hotels and restaurants, agriculture, manufacturing as well as transportation and communication sectors. Then to assess the largest IDP value (above average) is obtained at building sector and manufacturing industry sector. 2) The manufacturing industry sector is the only featured sector in Province of Maluku, while sectors that have strong bearing capacity is agricultural, trade, hotels and restaurants as well as transportation and communications sectors. The sector groups which has high dependency; among others, construction sector. The sector which lacks of prospects are mining and digging, electricity, gas and fresh water, finance, leasing and company services as well as the service sectors. Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of economic and development inequality in provinces in Eastern Indonesia and to determine the level of income inequality between regions/provinces in Eastern Indonesia. This type of research is library research with analysis tools using the Williamson index and Klassen Typology. The type of data used in this study is secondary data which is based on GRDP data and the rate of economic growth in the provinces of Eastern Indonesia. The research results show that 1). quadrant I with a high economic growth rate followed by a high GRDP growth rate is also dominated by Papua Province, South Sulawesi Province, Central Sulawesi Province; Quadrant II, namely the low economic growth rate but the high GRDP growth rate is dominated by West Nusa Tenggara Province. In the third quadrant, where the economic growth is high but the per capita income is low, it is dominated by North Maluku Province, West Sulawesi Province and Southeast Sulawesi Province. In the fourth quadrant, which are regions with low economic growth and low per capita income, are dominated by Gorontalo Province, Maluku Province, East Nusa Tenggara Province, West Papua Province and North Sulawesi Province. 2. Income inequality in the Eastern Indonesia region from 2010 to 2021 is relatively moderate, namely an average of 0.44 which indicates that most regions have a high level of economic growth and per capita income above the provincial average in the Eastern Indonesia region.Keyword: Gap, Income, Klassen Typology, Williamson Index.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the position of economic growth of each regency / city in Maluku Province based on economic growth and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita and to determine the imbalance of economic growth between regencies / cities in Maluku Province. This research conduct with Klassen Typology analysis and Williamson’s Index analysis approach method. Research showed that regency/city that have significant growth in economic level percapita and gross domestic product (GDP) are Ambon City, and Tual City. Theregency/city that have minimal growth in economic level per capita and GDP are Maluku Tengah Regency, Buru Regency,Seram Bagian Barat Regency and Buru Selatan Regency. Disparity in economic development in Maluku Province is quite significant although income inequality in most regions is quite low because it has a relatively high level of economic growth and per capita income above the Maluku Province average.
