As ’khalifa fi al-ardi’, mankind has responsibility to organize and settle many issues and resolve many problems laid down on the earth. To fulfill these duties, they are equiped with sense of mind and intelligence. Nowadays, through science and technology, rush and massive exploitation of resources are being uncontrolled day by day. So, this behavior creates some global crisis in many areas, including ecological disasters. This behavior, assumed, proceeded from the thoughts of mechanics-materialistic paradigms. On the contrary, tasawuf leads mankind to new enlighted paradigm and perspective in viewing world: not centre on material orientation; but spiritual one. A good example of tasawuf attitude was set by Mbah Munawar living in Karanggondang of Pekalongan. Eventhough, he has never learned tasawuf, his behavior -what he do- is reflecting tasawuf thoughts: zuhud, fanâ, baqâ, ittihâd, hulul, nur muhammad, insân kâmil and wahda/t/ al-wujud. This study aims to analyze the concepts and patterns of spiritual leadership according to Serat Wedhatama, especially the ethical, ascetic and mystical potential of Mangkunegara IV Javanese Islamic spiritual leadership. In the context of civilizations and the treasure of Javanese Islamic literatures, just to have the properties as a warrior is not enough for a leader; one must also have the properties as a clergyman, or having Spiritual Leadership within oneself. Spiritual Leadership has become one of the materials to teach (piwulang) a prince, a future king or a ruler. The basis of this study is Serat Wedhatama by Mangkunegara IV which contains sublime teaching (piwulang luhur) which must be a guide for a leader. This study is a qualitative research. The data is obtained from Serat Wedhatama. Data were analyzed by descriptive method, with a scientific perspective of Sufism and hermeneutics. This study found that Serat Wedhatama teaches that a leader must adhere to the ethical, ascetic and mystical dimensions. The ethical dimension includes the behavior of a leader towards the community. Meanwhile, the ascetic dimension includes the inner attitude of a leader in order to purify his soul. And the ascetic dimension includes the form of the relationship between a leader and God.

PERSEPSI MAHASISWI TERHADAP JILBAB GAUL *, Sopiah; Khobir, Abdul; Zuhri, Amat; Mufidah, Ely

Penelitian ini mengkaji persepsi jilbab gaul di kalangan mahasiswi STAIN Pekalongan. Jilbab gaul dimaksudkan sebagai busana muslimah yang gaul, yang cenderung seksi sehingga di satu sisi menutup tubuh pemakainya, di sisi lain menampilkan keseksian. Kajian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan paradigma naturalistik. Sifat penelitian ini deskriptif analisis kritis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswi STAIN Pekalongan terhadap jilbab gaul sangat positif, syar?i secara kognitif namun secara afektif bervariasi. Faktor yang melatarbelakangi pemakaian jilbab gaul berupa faktor personal dan faktor situasional.
