Abstract

Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is one of the major health problem in the period of 2005 to 2025. Therefore, it is urgent to find the ways to solve this problem as so many people got this disease every year. The purpose of the research was aimed to reveal the relationship between the knowledge level of DHF disease, the action level of DBD controlling as well as the existence of the corresponding Aedes aegypti larvae, with the endemicity level in the Dlingo I Community Health Centre. The study employed survey method with cross sec-tional approach in two villages i.e. Dlingo and Mangunan which represents en-demic and sporadic areas respectively. The interviewed respondent of this stu-dy was housewives and the data needed were collected by using questionnaire and also checklist to observe the mosquitos. By conducting chi square and pearson correlation test, the study concluded that endemicity was not cor-related with knowledge level (p-value 0,164). However, the endemicity were associated with both the controlling action (p-value 0,029) and the mosquito existency (p-value 0,001). Based on this findings, in order to prevent the occurence of DBD in the future, it was suggested that people have to re-vitalize the 3M program and the eradication of the mosquitoes’ breeding places. It was advised as well for DBD control counsellor to improve and to increase the health education program and to organize people who responsible in observing the existence of mosquito larvae amongst the community.

Abstract

In 2018, diarrhea in Indonesia was classified as a potential endemic disease of Extraordinary Events which was often accompanied by death. Well water can be a medium for transmitting diarrhea in the community, this transmission can occur because well water is contaminated with E. coli. In addition, population density can be a factor in the occurrence diarrhea. This study aims to determine the spatial analysis of the distribution diarrhea cases with the overlay method, which was carried out by analyzing the distribution pattern using Average Nearest Neighbor and Spatial Autocorrelation Report. Of the 26 scattered cases, the results of spatial analysis related to the presence of E. coli showed that there was a relationship between the incidence of diarrhea cases and the presence of E. coli, whose distribution pattern was clustered. The level of risk the presence of E. coli in well water with other environmental risk factors (wastewater disposal facilities, latrines and garbage disposal) showed that the most points found were those with moderate risk. In addition, the results of spatial analysis distribution diarrhea cases with population density showed that there was no significant relationship between the distribution diarrhea cases and population density, the distribution pattern was random.

Abstract

Piyungan is one of the sub-districts in Bantul Regency. Based on data on the distribution of dengue fever throughout 2021 in the Piyungan area, Bantul, there were 28 cases of dengue fever. The details of the distribution of the incidence of DHF are 5 cases in Sitimulyo village, 12 cases in Srimulyo village, and 11 cases in Srimartani village. Recapitulating data from the Piyungan Public Health Center, it was concluded that Klenggotan Hamlet, Srimulyo had the most frequent incidence of dengue fever, which was 8 times throughout 2021. Our community PKL activities in January 2022 carried out the activity of forming a juvenile jumantik (JUMBO) in Klenggotan hamlet, Srimulyo, Bantul. The activity of forming JUMBO Klenggotan aims to educate children to care about environmental health conditions from their respective homes. The outreach activity and the formation of Jumantik Bocah (JUMBO KLENGGOTAN) were successfully formed as many as 12 people, namely as many as @2 people from the area of RT 1, RT 2, RT 3, RT 5, RT 6, RT 8. Implementation of larva monitoring activities in RT 1-8 Klenggotan Hamlet, Srimulyo, Bantul, D. I Yogyakarta conducted by students has been carried out for three weeks as many as 40 house samples resulted in a larva free rate (ABJ) of 53.3%. This figure is still far from the quality standard according to PMK Number 50 of 2017, that the larvae free rate (ABJ) of Aedes aegypti and/or Aedes albopictus mosquito larvae is ≥95%.
