Abstract

The study was aimed: to reveal peple’s knowledge about the existence of envi-ronmental health department (JKL), and Sanitarian as one of health professi-ons; to understand the magnitude of people’s interest to study at JKL and the corresponding influencing factors; and to understand the competencies of a Sanitarian needed by industries and governmental institutions as the users. The study conducted survey method and employed questionnaire as data collection instrument. The results showed that 45,45% of respondents had heard about Sanitarian and 22,02% had known the profession’s duties. The percentages were significantly different with those of Nurse. Meanwhile, people’s interest to study at JKL was 50,88% of that for Nursing Department. On the other hand, 73,2% of respondents from Industries and governmental insitutions agreed that Sanitarian as profession were relevant with ISO 14000 and OHS sertification programme, and 46,7% of them suggested that sanita-rian should have competencies which related with waste processing including the toxic and dangerous ones.

Abstract

COVID-19 merupakan salah satu potensi bahaya biologis yang menyebabkan penyakit akibat kerja di Puskesmas. Upaya untuk mengurangi terjadinya penyakit akibat kerja adalah dengan melakukan identifikasi potensi bahaya. Identifikasi potensi bahaya salah satunya dapat dilakukan dengan metode Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran potensi bahaya COVID-19 pada petugas cleaning service di Puskesmas Sleman. Jenis penelitian ini adalah survei deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode HIRA, yaitu dengan melakukan observasi secara langsung, kemudian dilakukan analisis data dimulai dari mengidentifikasi kegiatan-kegiatan yang menimbulkan potensi penularan COVID-19. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat 40 temuan potensi bahaya pada petugas cleaning service. Berdasarkan penilaian risiko potensi bahaya COVID-19 pada petugas cleaning service terdapat 16 aktivitas (40% aktivitas) yang termasuk ke dalam risiko sedang, 22 aktivitas (55% aktivitas) yang termasuk ke dalam risiko bermakna, dan 2 aktivitas (5%) aktivitas yang termasuk ke dalam risiko tinggi. Potensi bahaya COVID-19 yang ditemukan pada petugas cleaning service, yaitu penggunaan APD kurang tepat, memegang peralatan kerja, tangan menyentuh bagian hidung sebelum mencuci tangan dengan sabun, dan tidak mencuci tangan dengan sabun setelah melakukan pekerjaan (menyapu, mengepel lantai, membersihkan kamar mandi, membersihkan kaca ruangan, pengumpulan limbah domestik, limbah medis cair laboratorium, dan limbah infeksius).

Abstract

Bad hand washing habits can increase the emergence of bacteria that enter the body. Hand washing with soap (CTPS) in running water is a way to reduce the number of pathogenic germs on hands. The habit of mothers and toddlers washing their hands before feeding or after defecating can reduce the risk of toddlers getting stunted. Pundong II Village is known to have 3 (three) toddlers who still weigh less than the standard weight for their age, 1 (one) of the 3 (three) toddlers is malnourished. The purpose of this study was to monitor handwashing with soap (CTPS) on mothers and toddlers. The research method used is descriptive. The results obtained are mothers and toddlers successfully carry out handwashing with soap (CTPS) correctly, after monitoring 3 times. This service has the impact of mothers and toddlers knowing how to properly wash their hands with soap (CTPS) in order to reduce the risk of stunting in toddlers.
