Abstract

This article is the result analyze of research the potency of chorusmembers inmaking a natural vocal harmony at Church,which is a harmony that is not emerging or came fromthe concept of harmonic theory ofwesternartmusic. The authormakesseveral questions in the problemstatements related to: (1) Skill development of producing natural vocal harmony. (2) Theresult of natural vocal harmony. (3) The use of thatmusical potency in their life. This research uses qualitative approach.Concepts that are used in the data collections are: phenomenological, ethnographic and concept harmony ofmusic.Results ofthe research are: (1) Potency development of producing natural vocal harmonywhich are triggered by two things, namely:background of Church and background of their culture. (2) Form of natural harmony is generally almost similar to theconventional harmony, but if they are examined carefully, then there are differences between them, namely: the process,characters’ arrangement for each kind of voice, and howthey present it. (3) Their potency could be used to as an effective toolfor praising the Lord, supporting the religious service, and get themcloser toGod.Keywords:Harmony,Choir, ChurchMusic

Abstract

The problem of the Covid-19 outbreak has an impact on worship activities in churches which have changed the model to the use of online worship. Church music as part of worship is certainly prepared in online worship so it needs stewardship so that it can take place well. The purpose of this study is to explain the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the stewardship of church music in worship. The research method uses a qualitative approach and the type is descriptive narrative. The research location is at the Kalawa Congregation GKE, Kasongan Regency, Central Kalimantan. The results of the study found that the Covid-19 pandemic had an impact or influence on church life, whether it was a negative impact that became an obstacle or a positive impact that became a strength. Permasalahan wabah Covid-19 berdampak dalam kegiatan ibadah di gereja yang berubah model ke penggunaan ibadah online. Musik Gereja sebagai bagian dari ibadah tentu dipersiapkan dalam ibadah online sehingga perlu penatalayanan agar bisa berlangsung dengan baik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan dampak pandemi Covid-19 penatalayanan musik gereja dalam ibadah. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan jenisnya adalah deskriptif naratif. Lokasi tempat penelitian adalah di GKE Jemaat Kalawa, Kabupaten Kasongan, Kalimantan Tengah. Hasil penelitian dijumpai bahwa pandemi Covid-19 membawa dampak atau pengaruh dalam kehidupan bergereja, baik itu dampak negatif yang menjadi hambatan ataupun juga dampak positif yang menjadi kekuatan.

Abstract

Keindahan adalah sebagai sesuatu hal yang diperlukan dalam harmoni kehidupan manusia, bahkan bukan hanya keindahan yang menyangkut hal duniawi tetapi juga lebih dalam lagi tentang keindahan yang rohani. Filsafat keindahan atau estetika merupakan cabang dari ilmu filsafat terus dipelajari dan dikembangkan, tetapi ternyata masih belum banyak tulisan yang lebih khusus menjelaskan tentang estetika musik rohani, yaitu estetika musik sebagai fungsi ritual yang meningkatkan keimanan umat kepada Tuhannya, secara khusus estetika musik di gereja. Penulisan artikel ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif interpretatif dengan studi literatur terkait estetika musik dan teologi Kristen, dari data yang ada kemudian dianalisis dan diinterpretasikan menjadi pengertian estetika musik gereja. Pengertian estetika musik gereja adalah estetika musik yang diterapkan digereja, yaitu bagian dari filsafat yang lebih fokus mempelajari tentang keindahan musik di gereja yang digunakan dengan tujuan untuk mendukung kegiatan beribadah dan meningkatkan keimanan jemaat serta mendukung tugas panggilan gereja dalam bersekutu, bersaksi dan melayani.

Abstract

Expressive worship as a form of creative worship gives more room for congregants to be able to express feelings or emotions more as a form of expression of faith in worship. The use of expressive worship is still relatively new as a form of liturgical worship within the Protestan churches in the city of Palangka Raya. The purpose of this study is to explain the use of expressive worship and its impact on Sunday worship in the GKE of the Sakatik Congregation - Palangka Raya. Expressive worship in the Protestant church in this study that is used as an example is the GKE Sakatik, expressive liturgy arranged and held to try to be a more interesting and lively liturgy by encouraging congregations to be able to accentuate their expressions compared to regular worship. The liturgical liturgy is almost the same but what distinguishes it is the liturgical form which is not absolutely fixed looking at the liturgical arrangements that have been provided, the selection of songs that are adapted to developments, and the use of band music to accompany worship. In expressive worship the congregation praises and glorifies the name of God with various forms of expression, such as when praising God there are those who raise their hands, some who clap, some dance, some jump, and so on.
