Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of temperature and outer rind peeling and their interactions on the viability and growth of seedless watermelon seedlings, and  to obtain the appropriate temperature and the outer rind peeling for resulting good seed of seedless watermelon.Research conducted at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Widya Gama Samarinda Mahakam from March to June 2014.  It applied 2 x 4 factorial experiment in a completely randomized design and repeated 6 times.  The first factor is the treatment of temperature (T) with 4 levels, namely: the temperature of 28-300C (t1), a temperature of 30-320C (t2), a temperature of 32-340C (t3), and a temperature of 34-360C.  The second factor is the outer rind peeling (P) with 2 levels, namely: no rind peeling (p0) and with the outer rind peeling (p1).Observational data collected in the study, namely: (1) age when the seeds begin to germinate, (2) the germination of seeds, (3) the length of radicle, (4) age in leaf formation, and (5) the number of leaves. Data analysis was performed using analysis of variance and when significant (F count> F table 5%) or highly significant (F count> F table 1%), then further tested by Duncan's multiple range test (DMRT) level of 5% .The results showed that: (1) the effect of the interaction between the outer rind peeling and different temperatures factors affected very significantly on to the age of the seeds begin to germinate, seed germination, radicle length, age of  the leaf formation, and number of leaves;  and (2) the combination treatment with outer rind peeling and a temperature of 30 - 32oC (p1t2) produces the best viability and growth of seedless watermelon.

Abstract

Cabbage (Brasicca oleracea L.) is one type of vegetable plant from the Brassicaceae family. This plant is a source of nutrients that contain nutrients, vitamins, minerals and fiber for the human body. And has economic value. Cabbage cultivation is influenced by the types of cultivated varieties that are in accordance with growing conditions. In general, cabbage plants grow on highlands. Along with advances in plant breeding technology, cabbage plants are available that can adapt to the lowlands and technically attempt to increase production by fertilizing. The study aimed to determine the effect of beef biourine, red onion extract and beef biourine and red onion extract on the agronomic properties of cabbage plants. The study was conducted for 4 months, from February to June 2018. The location of the study was carried out in the Sempaja Timur Village, Samarinda City, East Kalimantan Province. cabbage seeds, top soil, manure, husks, NPK fertilizer, cow urine, empon-empon, soybeans, brown sugar, shallots. The design used in this study is Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 2 treatments. The first treatment was beef biourine (S) with 4 levels, namely with 3 replications: s0: control (water), s1: 25% concentration of cow biourine, s2: 75% concentration of bovine biourine, s3: 100% concentration of bovine biourine and second treatment red onion extract (B) with 4 levels, namely: b0: control (water), b1: 25% concentration of red onion extract, b2: 75% concentration of red onion extract, b3: 100% concentration of shallot extract. The results of research on bovine biourine influenced plant height, number of leaves at ages 7, 14, 21, 28.35 and 42 days after planting. The weight of the crop with the best results at the level of b2 (75% biourine cow) weighing 596.58 grams, onion extract affects plant height, number of leaves at 7, 14, 21, 28.35 and 42 hst, crop weight with the best results at the m2 level (75% red onion extract) with a weight of 567.14 grams and the interaction of the treatment of beef biourine and shallots affects plant height, number of leaves at the ages of 7, 14, 21, 28.35 and 42 days and days formed at the level b2m2 (75% beef biourine and 75 red onion extracts).

Abstract

Research on application of solid decanter and SP 36 fertilizer on vegetative growth of palm oil seeds (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) age 1 month. The study was conducted for 12 weeks (3 months) from May - August 2021. The research was carried out in the Agrotechnology Experimental Garden at Widya Gama Mahakam University Samarinda. This research uses The research method used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with a 4 x 4 factorial experiment consisting of 3 replications. The first factor is P0 = No Treatment (Control), P1 = 75g/polybag, P2 = 100g/polybag, P3 = 125g/polybag. While the second factor is SP-36 fertilizer with: S0 = No Treatment (Control), S1 = 1.5g/polybag, S2 = 2.5g/polybag, S3 = 3.5g/polybag. The expected output is to provide information about the best dose of solid decanter for vegetative growth of falm oil for the community. Provide information about the best SP 36 fertilizer for the vegetative growth of palm oil for the community.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of guano fertilizer and methods verticulture and their interactions on the growth and yield of lettuce, and to find the guano fertilizer dose and proper verticulture method for lettuce. The experiment was conducted in Pinang Mas Housing Complex RT 46 Sempaja Village, North Samarinda sub district of Samarinda Cityfrom July 2011 to September 2011. The Split Plot Design within Randomized Block Design was used with 3 repitions. Factor of verticulture methods as main plots (V) consisted of a vertical (v) and horizontal (v2); Factor of guano fertilizer as sub-plots (G) consistied of: no fertilizer guano application (g0), 1 Mg ha-1 or 2 kg pots-1 (g1), 2 Mg ha-1 or 4 kg pots-1 (g2), and 3 Mg ha-1 or 6 kg pots-1 (g3). Analysis of the data used analysis of variance followed by least significant difference test at 5% significance level. The results showed that vertical and horizontal methods verticulture had no a significant effect on the all parameters observated. Guano fertilizer treatments affected significantly on plant height and number of leaves at the age of 10, 20, and 30 days after planting, plant fresh weight, and organoleptic tests of the color of the leaves and the level of crispness. The highest plant fresh weight wasproduced by treatment 3 Mg ha-1 or 6 kg pots-1 with 94.50 g fresh weight; The interaction between the methods of guano fertilizer verticulture had no a significant effect on the observed parameters: The organoleptic test by panelists provided a light green leaf color, crisp and rather liked.
