Abstract

Belt conveyor is a means of transportation used at Indarung IV PT. Semen Padang. Belt conveyor functions to move material from one place to another both in short distances and long distances with a certain slope. The capacity of limestone conveyor belt owned by Indarung IV is 400 tons/hour. However, this capacity is no longer able to meet the needs of limestone as a raw material for making cement in Indarung IV which currently reaches a capacity of 600 tons/hour. For this reason, an analysis of the 400 ton/hour capacity conveyor belt is still capable of transporting the limestone material with a capacity of 600 tons/hour, using the CEMA (Conveyor Equipment Manufacturer Association) standard. From the calculation results obtained belt conveyor parameters for a capacity of 600 tons/hour such as maximum belt capacity, belt speed, as well as the motor power and gearbox power needed for a capacity of 600 tons/hour. Where, some of these parameters exceed the value of the parameters of the conveyor belt capacity of 400 tons/hour, so the 400 tons/hour conveyor belt is unable to carry a load of 600 tons/hour. Replacement of some components is needed so that a load of 600 tons/hour can be transported.

Abstract

At this time in the process of sweeping the road still using traditional tools by janitors, for example broom sticks. One of the technologies that began to develop was the Street Sweeper machine. This Street Sweeper is a tool to help alleviate the work of janitors in terms of road sweeping. Sweeping the highway using the Street Sweeper is one of the main steps to accelerate the process of sweeping the highway with rapid traffic flow. The working principle of this machine is by utilizing thrust from humans, by means of a machine being pushed and directed to the garbage scattered on the road. Therefore it is very appropriate to use Street Sweeper to sweep the road compared to using manual tools because it can save work time

Abstract

Pembangkit  Listrik  Tenaga  Gelombang  Laut -Sistem  Bandulan  (PLTGL-SB)  yang  rancangbangunnya berbentuk ponton di tempatkan mengapung di atas permukaan air laut, dan PLTGL-SBtersebut akan mengikuti gerak/arus gelombang sesuai dengan frekwensi gelombang laut, sehinggamenyebabkan posisi PLTGL-SB selalu bergerak terombang ambing sesuai dengan alur gelombang.Karena  gerakan  terombang  ambing ponton yang  terus-menerus  tersebut menyebabkan  ayunanbandul yang akan dirubah jadi putaran generator dalam hal ini ada empat bandul, sehingga PLTGLSB  mengeluarkan  Energi/Daya  Listrik.Dan  menurut perhitungan,  untuk  panjang  pantai + 1km,terdapat  Energi  Potensial  Gelombang  Laut +10MW,  dengan  biaya  investasinya+ Rp35.000.000/kW, dan dapat menerangi + 40.000 rumah-tangga sederhana.

Abstract

Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy in wind into clean electricity. When the wind spins the wind turbine's blades, a rotor captures the kinetic energy of the wind and converts it into rotary motion to drive the generator. Wind electric systems are one of the most cost-effective home-based renewable energy systems with zero emissions and pollution. Many factors that influence the performance of wind turbines such as wind speed, blade shape, and number of blades. In Generator, Coil number of turn (N) also influence performance of wind turbine. Manufacture of wind turbine prototype as a learning medium to facilitate students in understanding the concept of wind electric system. Results of the test prototype wind turbine if the wind speed the greater the resulting voltage will be higher, the Coil number of turn (N) also affects the voltage generated.

Abstract

Mini vise is a tool to hold a relatively small object. Mini vise also have another function as a souvenirs. This design purpose is to design the mold of mini vise which is simple and effective. Doing the calculation in the procces of making the fix component of the mini vise and doing analysis the effect of mold slope in the procces of casting. The mold material is mildsteel and the case material is aluminium. There are 3 mold for fix component with different inclination angle which are 1̊, 2̊, 3̊. The best cast result is the mold with 3̊ angle. And can be concluded that bigger angle make the take out procces of the result easier.

Abstract

Begel or sekang is a longitudinal reinforcing ring to hold the shear stress that occurs in a concrete column or pillar, the putel is placed so that each longitudinal reinforcement is held so as not to bend out. So far, begel are made by sticking a shaft iron into a wood and then begel the iron manually, until it is obtained as needed. Traditional bending tools like this are inefficient because they require more energy to bend them and cannot be carried. Therefore it was designed and made PORTABLE BEGEL MAKING BENDING TOOLS. To test the speed of this tool compared with traditional bending tools. From the results of statistical tests it was concluded that the portable buckle making buckle tool is faster than the traditional buckling tool. This portable buckling device is designed more simply so that it can be carried anywhere and is easily made by construction workers.

Abstract

Coffee is one of Indonesia's leading export commodities in the agricultural sector. Good coffee quality makes Indonesia one of the largest coffee exporting countries in the world. The process of making coffee involves many stages or processes, from harvesting to producing coffee grounds. One of the important stages in coffee production is the process of roasting the coffee beans. This study aims to design a rotary type coffee roaster based on Arduino Microcontroller. The working principle of this machine is to control the temperature and rotation of the roasting cylinder using the Arduino Uno as the controller for the temperature sensor and motor. The method used in this study is the design method, namely the design calculations are carried out on the supporting elements of the coffee roaster machine. From the design, the engine specifications are obtained with a cylinder size of 500 mm long, 130 mm radius, maximum rotation of 80 Rpm, 1HP electric motor and 28 mm shaft size.

Abstract

Amount of resident of Indonesia progressively mount and it is of course require construction material for the requirement of its housing. Construction material which is partly produced by small industry or home industry. One of the production construction materials is brick. At the moment requirement to brick product very is mounting, for that need the existence of support in the form of availability of a machine able to improve productivity in line with make-up of its requirement. System of extrusion which is used in machine printer of brick can improve small industrial productivity brick to requirement of construction material market.

Abstract

Many kinds of power resource have been used in the human live, like a petrol engine, solar engine, steam turbine, hydro turbine or electrical motor. To run those machines, need same fuel or specific resource and also need high infestation Water wheel has been known very well, especially in West Sumatra for along tame ago as a simple technology. It’s can run with small water flow, not like hydro turbine, but will generate a big enough power. Water wheel construction is very simples that it’s can be made everywhere, with the wood materials, metal or both of them. The power of water wheel is big enough and can be used for every thing, to run generators, kinds of mill tools like rice milling, and many kinds of carpentry tools.
