Abstract

Arab communities who live in Kampung Al Munawar can be regarded as one of the oldest Arab ethnic settlements in Palembang. They came with the intention of bringing trade missions and religious symbols of Islam. Despite coming from other areas, this community is able to adapt well and is even recognized as Palembang people. This research conducted by socio-historical approach successfully demonstrates that there are many ways to adapt, which are demonstrated through the use of language, housing, socialization, and the adoption of various matters related to the culture developed in the community. The most important thing is the similarity in the religious affiliations. The religious factor becomes the important key which makes the adaptation can take place easily.

Abstract

The term gender mainstreaming (PUG) refers to the understanding that the concept of gender should be encouraged to be understood by the public. Which emphasizes the aspect of gender equality and social justice role, must be maximized, so that domination and "oppression" of women can be minimized. PUG concept inevitably be faced with socio-cultural and political realities of society, which is still very dominant with a patriarchal culture. The power of patriarchal culture (male power) already attached so strong in the community, even the legitimacy of the woman. This article also wants to raise the issue of the implementation of gender mainstreaming in the context of the strong theoretical patriarchy. This theoretical study shows that the various elements of society, patriarchal culture is still maintained and there is justification to continue. Eventhough, it also related to religious beliefs and traditions that take place. On the other side of a patriarchal culture has also strengthened with the emergence of popular culture which emphasizes aspects of the material, so that women often used as commodities. This further reinforces the patriarchal culture, as well as challenges for PUG.

Abstract

Clergy involvement in politics is a political reality in Indonesia. It can not be removed from the dynamics of history and journey of this nation. One scholar who has a major influence is the KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur). His figure is important because the political dynamics of Indonesia also can not be released from his position. In the new order, Gus Dur was heavily involved in the position of NU activists in Islamic organizations. Through these organizations, Gus Dur can enter the territory of Indonesia's political and participate in relationships with various other parties, especially the political figures who was still active.In the era of reform, Gus Dur precisely into the active region of practical politics by founding the National Awakening Party. Until eventually became president of Indonesia. Abdurrahman, the more shows that the activity of the clergy, as a religious leader, can not be separated from the role in the political realm. Indonesia's political and has its own distinctive characteristics, namely the dynamics and patterns have a close relationship between the clergy and politics

Abstract

Polygamy is a concept that is often caused controversy. This becomes crucial because it relates to various aspects of polygamy sensitive. However, in the viewpoint of Islam, polygamy is legally recognized, although it does not specify as a liability. The emergence of polygamy provisions would not be separated from how the decline in the verse. This aspect will be a major influence. Doing polygamy has major provisions is not easy. There are requirements that must be met by the person who will do polygamy. Polygamy is allowed, but must comply with the main provisions, in order to stay on the desired corridor. This relates to the meaning and wisdom of the permissibility of polygamydown to the lowest place.

Abstract

Abstract: The idea of Islamic rule, commonly called the Khilafah Islamiyah, a controversy which almost endless. This form movement persists and even already in various countries. Khilafah Islamiyah era used to be an inspiration to form the Islamic system of government at this time. But it can not be denied also that in the context of the current modern state that has established administrative boundaries, by considering various things as forming the country, then the idea of the Khilafah Islamiyah in the form of cross-border state administrative problem. Variations understanding of the Khilafah Islamiyah, led to the adoption of this concept will always be at the limit mere ideals. The unification of perception and understanding, it is difficult to achieve because each human being has a variety of logical thinking. This paper is not the result of the study, but based in-depth study about the idea, and its reflection in the context of the modern state.
