Abstract

Local wisdom possessed by the East Java is a form of culture that represents the identity of the Jawatimuran that does not shared by other regions, but the social dynamics and development of information technology make the knowledge of local wisdom faded and forgotten, so that the next generation remains to know, love and proud in the culture of their own country, then that knowledge must be preserved. The Library and Archives of East Java has organized several workshops. Those workshops are a form of knowledge sharing as an effort to preserve local wisdom of Jawatimuran through writing. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the workshops conducted by The Library and Archives of East Java. The methodology used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The results of this study show that knowledge sharing can improve the productivity of the authors and creates integration between authors, publishers and The Library and Archives of East Java in an effort to preserve local wisdom in East Java. The conclusion is that The Library and Archives of East Java should be a bridge for the writers to continue to produce writings based on the local wisdom.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is the second highest cause of death for women in Indonesia, despite a deadly illness, patients with cervical cancer are not desperate to survive. Instead, they are motivated to undertake positive actions, one of which is to do health informtion sharing or share information on environmental health tersekatnya. This study aims to look at how the patterns of behavior of sharing health information on cervical cancer patients, as well as the motive behind their actions the health information sharing. This study uses the method of qualitative research grounded approach. Location of the study conducted in Surabaya, while the search for informants researchers used snowball sampling. The results from this study is there are different behavior patterns of health information sharing among cervical cancer patients who have been diagnosed with advanced cervical cancer with cervical cancer at an early stage level.

Abstract

This article describes the distinct of privacy and security issues that are simultaneously operant in the KMS practices. It identifies several perceptions of privacy and security issues in the company’s KMS settings. By studying the perspective, authors provide a conceptual directions to the fog of misunderstandings around privacy and security in company’s KMS settings. An exploratory sequential mixed method research design was adopted. A questionnaire survey was administered by authors personally handing to KM staff in three companies, followed by semi-structure interviews with four KM staff. The findings of this study show that the employees were aware of the importance of KMS in the companies, and hence had a high awareness of personal information privacy and security issues. The distinct perspective of privacy issue in companies can be distinguished from organizational layer of KMS through three dimensions; confidentiality, trust, and behavior. While the security aspects in KMS have complied with ICT layer which constructed by legal framework and KMS architecture.

Abstract

The development of a social inclusion-based library located in Pesing Village, Purwoasri District, Kediri, can raise the welfare of the local community through the use of the collections provided. In this community service, socialization is given to participants who come from the local community, represented by village officials, teachers, youth organizations, while the material presented is the concept and implementation of Social Inclusion-Based Libraries and how to collection management like make collection subjects, classify collections to choose the right collection. for the community according to their livelihood. The Department of Information and Library of Airlangga University as the organizer of the activity also donated various collections, covering themes of agriculture, plantations, fishery sector development, and many other general themes that can be utilized to develop the economic activities of the local community. Social inclusion through village library services deserves to be counted as the main driving force for all community activities. Through the collections provided by the village library, it is hoped that the community can develop their skills and knowledge to produce a variety of new livelihoods, and have a real impact on improving the welfare of their families. Through the training for village library managers, it was found that their understanding of libraries became wider, including they began to understand how to manage collections in accordance with library management rules
