The Development of Biology Interactive Learning Media Based Macromedia Flash in the Material of Digestive System of Human at Class XI SMA/MA Harahap, Hasmi Syahputra; Hasruddin, Hasruddin; Djulia, Ely

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) The expedience degree of Biology interactive learning media based macromedia flash; (2) The responses of SMA Biology MGMP teachers; and (3) The responses of students as to Biology interactive learning media based macromedia flash in the material of Digestive System of Human at class XI SMA/MA. This development study which stages includes are: (1) Collect to information; (2) Planning (preparing benchmark reference test); (3) To develop an early form of product; (4) Validation of expert; (5) Revision; (6) Test final product; and (7) Revision of the eligibility of product. The test subject consists of validator in material experts, language expert, and learning design media experts, and one MGMP teacher with 36 students in MAN 1 Medan on small group trial, four MGMP teachers with 85 students in MAN 1 and MAN 2 Model Medan on middle group trial, and then nine MGMP teachers with 165 students in MAN 1, MAN 2 Model, and MAN 3 Medan on large group trial. Data collected by using a questionnaire. Data analyzed with descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results of this study showed that: (1) The Eligibility material content is in very good criteria (88%); (2) The Language of learning media is in very good criteria (85%); (3) The Media development product is in very good criteria (84%); (4) The responses of one MGMP teacher is in helping criteria (4,1) and 36 students are in very good criteria (82%); (5) The responses of four MGMP teachers are in very helping criteria (4,3) and 85 students are in very good criteria (82%); and (6) The responses of nine MGMP teachers are in very helping criteria (4,7) and 165 students are in very good criteria (84%).Keywords: Macromedia Flash, Digestive System of Human, Questionnaire, Descriptive Quantitative, and Qualitative.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teacher discipline and student learning attitudes in biology class XI in SMA in the village of the people. The subjects of this research are teachers and students. The population in this study were 3 biology teachers and 114 students. The research instrument used in the form of a questionnaire evaluation of students' attitudes and abilities in understanding biology and interviews with biology teachers. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques with the method of observation, questionnaires and interviews. Based on the results of the study the authors concluded that the learning process of biology in each school was carried out with limited face-to-face. In each lesson schedule, teachers always come on time and carry out their duties and responsibilities as teachers in biology. Students' learning attitudes towards biology subjects are classified as standard, but when learning uses practical demonstrations, students' learning attitudes are classified as increasing. Based on the results of interviews that researchers obtained, there were several obstacles in the student learning process including the lack of full face-to-face learning and the lack of facilities and infrastructure for learning biology which caused students' interest in learning to vary in biology.

Abstract

Innovative learning media, designed to meet students' needs, can boost motivation and improve learning outcomes. One such medium is interactive PowerPoint. This study aims to explore how developing interactive PowerPoint presentations affects students' motivation and their understanding of virus-related biology material. We adopted an experimental approach, comparing the effects on a control group and an experimental group chosen through random sampling. We assessed motivation through questionnaires and learning outcomes with multiple-choice tests, analyzing the data with covariance analysis (ANCOVA) at a significance level of 0.05 using SPSS 21.0. Our findings reveal that interactive PowerPoint significantly enhances both student motivation and learning achievements. Specifically, students learning with interactive PowerPoint (average score of 44.19 ± 13.175) performed significantly better than those in the control group (average score of 34.49 ± 12.433). Furthermore, motivation levels in class X3 (83.38 ± 6.605) were notably higher than in class X4 (82.58 ± 8.866). These results underline the impactful role of interactive PowerPoint in biology education, particularly for virus topics, suggesting it's a valuable addition to the curriculum. This finding offers fresh insight into the ongoing relevance and effectiveness of PowerPoint as an educational tool in biology, demonstrating its substantial benefits in presenting biological concepts in modern teaching strategies.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the scientific attitude towards science learning in campus teaching programs for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 5 Kampung Rakyat. The research method used in this research is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The results of this research analysis show that four dominant scientific attitudes are seen in science learning in campus teaching programs, namely a curious attitude such as students having a high sense of curiosity about new things so that students are enthusiastic about asking questions. Indicators of respect for facts like students can appreciate and accept the opinions expressed by teachers and friends. Indicators of attitudes of willingness to change views such as students being able to realize changes to a more reasonable view of the facts. Students can convey the results of the discussion according to existing facts. The final indicator is a critical thinking attitude, such as students doubting the opinions or answers of other friends, students asking about learning they have just learned about, and students being able to express their opinions if there are differences in opinion between what the teacher conveys and the opinions of other discussion groups.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service focuses on the Existence of Islamic Boarding School Education for the Labuhanbatu Community, where this is carried out at the Darul Husna Langpayung Modern Islamic Boarding School, South Labuhanbatu Regency so that twelfth grade students, especially those who will leave Islamic boarding schools, can understand the role and existence of Islamic boarding schools, especially in Labuhanbatu. south. The sample in this activity was all students and teachers at the Darul Husna Langpayung Islamic Boarding School. The method in this service is a qualitative descriptive approach. Where the analysis developed by describing how the existence of Islamic boarding schools in South Labuhanbatu and can provide insight, discourse and evidence for the development of Islamic boarding schools, especially in South Labuhanbatu. Based on the activities that have been carried out, it is hoped that the existence of Islamic boarding schools will continue to grow. Because a strong foundation in religion is needed for the progress of the nation, especially the South Labuhanbatu area. The shared hope is that Islamic boarding schools must continue to exist in the midst of technological progress in today's society.

Abstract

Salah satu masalah dalam masyarakat adalah kurangnya pengembangan kemampuan untuk memanfaatkan sumber daya alam seperti belimbing wuluh yang ada di daerah tertentu. Dengan adanya bahan dasar belimbing wuluh yang cukup di daerah tersebut, maka proses pembuatan makanan dari bahan dasar belimbing wuluh memerlukan pengetahuan dan waktu yang cukup untuk mendapatkan hasil yang baik seperti membuat dodol yang sangat bermanfaat untuk peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan pengembangan pembuatan dodol dari bahan belimbing wuluh kepada masyarakat untuk menginovasikan makanan dodol yang bahan utamanya dari belimbing wuluh menjadi cita rasa yang unik, hal ini telah disosialisasikan dan diberi pelatihan kepada masyarakat kelompok PKK yang ada di Desa Teluk Sentosa Kabupaten Labuhanbatu. Metode kegiatan pengabdian tersebut adalah dengan pendekatan kolaboratif. Alat khusus yang digunakan untuk pengolahan adonan dodol saroha adalah mesin pengolah yang dirancang oleh ahli mesin perancang yang terpercaya. Mesin dirancang agar dapat beroperasi dengan berputar secara terus menerus pada adonan yang ada dalam wadah mesin. Hasil dari kegiatan ini memperoleh produk dodol saroha yang enak sehingga bisa memajukan perekonomian masyarakat Desa tersebut apabila terus dilanjutkan oleh warga yang hendak membuka usaha. Simpulan yang diperoleh bahwa masyarakat mendapat informasi dan pengetahuan melalui sosialisasi dan pelatihan oleh tim PKM Universitas Labuhanbatu, dan kemudian masyarakat dalam mengembangkan produk tersebut secara mandiri didaerahnya untuk tujuan mengembangkan perekonomian Desa Teluk Sentosa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh serta interaksi model pembelajaran dan self efficacy terhadap: (1) Kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas XI di MAN 1 Medan. Metode penelitian menggunakan kuasi eksperimen dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 3 kelas dari 6 kelas XI IPA yang diambil dengan menggunakan metode  purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan keterampilan proses sains siswa dalam bentuk tes uraian, dan nontes berupa angket self efficacy. Teknik analisis menggunakan statistik deksriptif dan Statistic Inferensial Parametric atau Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANAVA) dengan taraf signifikan 5% dengan SPSS 20. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Ada pengaruh yang signifikan model pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah (p=0,024<0,05); (2) Ada pengaruh yang signifikan self efficacy terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah (p=0,000<0,05); (3) Ada interaksi yang signifikaan antara model pembelajaran dan self efficacy siswa terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah (p=0,004<0,05). Sebagai tindak lanjut dari hasil penelitian ini diharapkan kepada guru untuk dapat menerapkan model pembelajaran dan self efficacy pada materi sistem ekskresi dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, dan keterampilan proses sains siswa di sekolah
