Home industry is now increasingly in demand by the community as a form of "Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) " that have simple concepts and promising results. Many business ideas and opportunities that can be realized into a home industry business, one of which is food processing. UMKM have a major contribution to the rolling of the economy of a country, not only as a seed that generates the growth of big business but also provides certain services for the community which for large businesses are considered to be less cost-efficient. The IMO (Ikatan Makanan Minuman Olahan) of Sumatera Utara is one of the communities that oversees several UMKM entrepreneurs spread across Sumatera Utara. Types of snack products that are quite popular are cassava chips, banana chips, and crackers. Almost all chips processing is done by frying. A problem that is often experienced is the level of oil in chips that are still included in the packaging. This is due to the process of draining the oil which is still done manually. It takes a touch of technology to replace the manual process into a mechanical system that is with a spinner or known as a cooking oil drainer. The target and output of this activity is to achieve an increase in the quality of chips production under the IMO through the use of appropriate technology, namely a simple and low-cost oil-spinning machine.

Lack of access to proper sanitation is a major risk factor for infectious diseases such as cholera, diarrhea, dysentery, hepatitis A, typhoid and polio. The Community-Based Total Sanitation Program in the first pillar of Stop Open Defecation aims to change people's lifestyles by using proper sanitation. However, the program has not run evenly. One of the areas that has not yet received the results of the policy is Dusun 13, Percut Village, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra which is a coastal area. This community service was able to provide proper sanitation facilities and socialization of healthy lifestryle to the community especially housewife in this area. The construction of sanitation facilities are two bathrooms with a size of 2 x 1.5 m with closets in each room, a septic tank with a capacity of 15 people basen on Indonesia Standard with number 2398 : 2017, tested the water quality, and installed a water pump. Socialization to implemented healthy lifestyle properly done with 20 participants as housewife in this area. This community service is expected to improve the quality of life, prevent the transmission of waterborne diseases and prevent groundwater contamination

Masyarakat Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau yang telah lanjut usia memiliki keluhan terhadap kesehatan fisik mereka yang mulai menurun seiring bertambahnya usia. Penurunan fungsional tubuh dapat berdampak pada penurunan kebugaran fisik. Seiring bertambahnya usia, penurunan fungsi tubuh akan semakin cepat. Oleh sebab itu, para lansia Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau perlu melakukan aktivitas fisik yang dapat membantu meningkatkan kebugaran fisik, salah satunya dengan senam lansia. Untuk mendukung hal tersebut, mahasiswa KKNTD-30 USU membuat program kerja senam lansia yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan imunitas dan kesehatan fisik serta kualitas hidup para lansia di Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau. Pelaksanaan kegiatan senam ini dilakukan mulai Oktober hingga November 2022 dengan metode demonstrasi kepada masyarakat. Kegiatan senam dilakukan setiap hari minggu dengan didampingi oleh instruktur dari tim KKNTD-30 USU Sasaran dari kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat lansia Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau yang berusia 50 tahun ke atas sebanyak 30 orang. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah meningkatnya kesehatan tubuh dan kesehatan organ dalam yang terjaga serta mencegah dari bahaya penyakit. Senam lansia tidak hanya untuk sekedar menjaga kesehatan pada lansia, tetapi juga dapat tercapainya lansia yang sehat fisik, mental, dan sosial. Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan program, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan senam lansia yang dilaksanakan berdampak positif bagi kesehatan para lansia di Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau.The elderly residents of Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau have complaints about their physical health, which begins to decline as they get older. A decrease in body function can result in a decrease in physical fitness. As you get older, the decline in body function will accelerate. Therefore, the elderly in Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau need to do physical activities that can help improve physical fitness, one of which is elderly exercise. To support this, KKNTD-30 USU students created an elderly exercise program to improve the immunity, physical health, and quality of life of the elderly in Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau. This exercise activity will be conducted from October to November 2022 using a demonstration method for the community. Gymnastics activities are carried out every Sunday by instructors from the KKNTD-30 USU team. The target of this activity is the elderly community of Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau, aged 50 years and over, totaling 30 people. The results obtained are improved body health and maintained internal organ health, as well as preventing the dangers of disease. Elderly exercise is not only about maintaining the health of the elderly but can also help those who are physically, mentally, and socially healthy. Based on the results of program implementation, it can be concluded that the elderly exercise activities carried out have positively impacted the health of the elderly in Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau.

Hipertensi adalah suatu kondisi atau keadaan di mana seseorang mengalami kenaikan tekanan darah diatas batas normal yang akan menyebabkan kesakitan bahkan kematian. Seseorang akan dikatakan hipertensi apabila tekanan darahnya melebihi batas normal, yaitu lebih dari 140/90 mmHg. Pendidikan kesehatan dengan menggunakan metode penyuluhan merupakan cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan. Akses terhadap informasi dan edukasi tentang penyakit hipertensi di Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau masih rendah, sehingga kelompok KKNTD-30 USU (Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik Diperpanjang-30 Universitas Sumatera Utara) membuat suatu program kerja berupa penyuluhan tentang hipertensi. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah agar dapat meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau untuk peduli dengan penyakit hipertensi sebagai bentuk pengendalian penyakit hipertensi di Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada 22 Oktober 2022. Sasaran dari kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau, Kabupaten Batu Bara. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan penyuluhan kesehatan interaktif ke rumah kepada keluarga secara langsung dengan memberikan poster mengenai hipertensi. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah kegiatan penyuluhan berjalan dengan baik dan lancar, peserta aktif bertanya, dan mengikuti penyuluhan dari awal sampai selesai, sehingga terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai penyakit hipertensi dari 68% dan setelah diberikan penyuluhan melalui media leaflet menjadi 95%. Simpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah kegiatan ini sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap penyakit hipertensi serta meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk memperbaiki pola hidup dan kesadaran pengecekan kesehatan secara rutin.Hypertension is a condition or situation where a person experiences an increase in blood pressure above normal limits, which will cause illness and even death. A person will be said to be hypertensive if his blood pressure exceeds the normal limit, which is more than 140/90 mmHg. Health education using counseling methods is a way that can be done to increase knowledge. Access to information and education about hypertension in Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau is still low, so the KKNTD-30 USU group (Extended Thematic Real Work Lecture-30 University of North Sumatra) created a work program in the form of counseling about hypertension. This activity aims to increase the awareness of the people of Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau about hypertension as a form of controlling hypertension in Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau. This activity was carried out on October 22, 2022. The target of this activity was the people of Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau, Batu Bara Regency. The method used is directly interactive health education at home to families by providing posters about hypertension. The results were that the counseling activities ran well and smoothly, and participants actively asked questions and participated in the counseling from start to finish, resulting in an increase in public knowledge about hypertension from 68% and after being given counseling through leaflets to 95%. This activity concludes that it is very effective in increasing public knowledge of hypertension and increasing public awareness to improve lifestyle and awareness of routine health checks.

Angka kecelakaan lalu lintas di kalangan pelajar masih tinggi di Indonesia. Pemerintah melalui Kementerian Perhubungan telah mengenalkan pembatasan kecepatan khusus pada kendaraan di wilayah sekolah yang dikenal dengan nama Zona Selamat Sekolah (ZoSS), dengan tujuan untuk menjaga keselamatan di sekitar area sekolah. Di Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau, para pengendara di zona sekolah terkadang tidak memerhatikan kecepatan berkendara mereka. Maka dari itu, mahasiswa KKNT USU (Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik Universitas Sumatera Utara) mengusung program rambu K3 (Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja) dengan memasang plang K3 sebagai peringatan zona sekolah agar pengendara mengurangi kecepatan berkendara di zona sekolah Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilakukan mulai dari tanggal 22 September 2022 – 16 Desember 2022. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini meliputi survei awal, pengumpulan data, pembuatan plang K3, dan monitoring. Sasaran dari kegiatan ini adalah masyarakat, siswa, dan staf sekolah di Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau. Diharapkan dari terealisasinya pemasangan Plang K3, dapat membantu mengurangi angka kecelakaan di daerah kawasan sekolah Desa Perkebunan Tanjung Kasau.The number of traffic accidents among students is still high in Indonesia. Through the Ministry of Transportation, the government has introduced special speed restrictions on vehicles in the school area, known as the School Safe Zone (ZoSS), to maintain safety around the school area. In Tanjung Kasau Plantation Village, drivers in the school zone sometimes do not pay attention to their driving speed. Therefore, USU KKNT students (Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik Universitas Sumatera Utara) carry the K3 (Occupational Health and Safety) sign program by installing K3 signs as school zone warnings so that motorists reduce driving speed in the Tanjung Kasau Plantation Village school zone. This activity is implemented from September 22, 2022, to December 16, 2022. The method of carrying out this activity includes initial surveys, data collection, making K3 signs, and monitoring. The target of this activity is the community, students, and school staff in Tanjung Kasau Plantation Village. It is hoped that the realization of the installation of Plang K3 can help reduce the number of accidents in the school area of Tanjung Kasau Plantation Village.

School sanitation is one of the development priorities included in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely goal 4a is to build and improve educational facilities that are child-friendly, persons with disabilities, gender and provide a safe, non-violent, inclusive, and effective learning environment for all. The Development Private Elementary School is a private elementary school located in Patumbak District. This school is prioritized for the economically weak community whose parents work as laundry workers, construction workers, motorcycle rickshaw drivers and others. The foundation collects a tuition fee of Rp. 10,000/month, which is certainly not sufficient for school operational costs so that the development of school facilities and infrastructure is not up to standard. Environmental sanitation conditions in this school such as the availability of clean water is lacking, bathrooms are damaged, waste handling is not optimal, there is no place for washing hands. Based on these problems, the solution given is to improve proper sanitation conditions in the school by making boreholes with a depth of ± 10 m equipped with a pump to meet the water needs in the bathroom, renovating the bathroom, providing segregated trash cans and portable hand washing stations. In addition to providing in kind, this community service activity also provides socialization related to proper sanitation and clean and healthy living behavior to students.

Nowadays, business developments are increasingly stringent, even though they are in an economic condition that tends to be unstable due to the impact of the pandemic. This has an impact on business competition that is getting higher and sharper, both in the domestic market and in the international market. Every business in high competition is required to always compete with other companies in the same industry. One way to win the competition or at least survive in the competition is to give full attention to the quality of the products produced by the company and ensure smooth production so that production targets can be achieved. One of the efforts to smooth production is to fix problems that occur in production. The constraint experienced by partners is that the production target is not achieved because the toaster oven stops rotating. Based on the analysis, it was found that this problem was caused by fluctuations in the electric voltage that entered the toaster oven. So based on the survey and discussion conducted by the team, to overcome the problems experienced by partners, the team proposes to design and assemble an Assembled Electrical Voltage Stabilizer for Toaster Ovens. The target and outcome of this activity is to increase the partner's production capacity by using an Electric Voltage Stabilizer.
