Abstract

Traditional fishermen in Dusun XI, Percut Village, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province, using rawai fishing gear, nets, and hand line instead of other technological gear. Sea tides also influence fisherman's ability to get out of sea; when the river mouth reaches high tides, fishermen will go to sea; when the river mouth recedes, fishermen can not go to sea. Fishermen are frequently returned to sea with little results, especially in the absence of technological application. Education is important, and advances in fish finder technology can help fishermen catch more fish by making it easier to use. The implementation method is theoretical and practical, with the formation of an actually trying to implement committee team occurrence through educational methods with theoretical media attention, as well as practical activities such as fisherman group discussions and joint operation demonstration activities in the field. Fishermen in Dusun XI, Percut Village, Deli Serdang Regency benefit significantly from using a fishfinder tool and helping in increasing fish catches, according to data monitoring and assessment.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to characterize the secondary metabolites in Halimeda macroloba by means of phytochemical screening tests, and to determine the use of the best concentration of Halimeda macroloba extract to maintain the freshness quality of skipjack tuna physically, chemically and microbiologically. The results of the phytochemical screening test showed that the green macroalgae Halimeda macroloba contains alkaloids, steroids and triterpenoids, saponins, flavanoids, tannins and glucosides. The organoleptic physical test results for the best parameters of meat appearance, aroma and texture were in the A5 concentration treatment (600 ppm) with a value of 8.43, then the chemical test results found that the best protein content and TVB values were found in treatment A5 (600 ppm) with a value of 22.9% and in the A4 treatment (400 ppm) with a value of 9.24 mgN/100g. Meanwhile, the microbiological test results showed that the best TPC value was found in treatment A5 (600 ppm) with a value of 0.5×105 col/gram.

Abstract

Based on statistical analysis from Dinas Kelautan Perikanan, Deli Serdang Regency in 2018, The capacity for freshwater aquaculture output was recorded at 1328.9 tons / year with a land area of 65.9 ha , which is a problem for the aquaculture community with the decreasing quantity of seed production, limited infrastructure and development management which is still conventional in Desa Perbarakan, Deli Serdang Regency, therefore it is important to implement the required application of science and technology, namely the implementation of semi-natural methods of spawning techniques of koi fish (Cyprinus carpio). Counseling, seminars and practices are the methods of tasks carried out. Extension activities were carried out by illustrating the conceptual awareness of the development of koi fish spawning strategies, the distribution of leaflets, the application of recognition technology, as well as tools and resources, including the dose of gonadotropin hormone (GnH) in broodfish and fish anaesthetic techniques. For female fish, the injected hormone level is 0.5 ml / kg and 0.1 ml / kg for male fish. The weight of the female fish is 1 kg tancho sanke doitsu, 0.5 ml/gr, and the weight of the male fish is 1 kg. At a dose of 0.1 ml / gr and 900 g of shiro, kohaku at a level of 0.09 ml / gr. The result is that the number of eggs is estimated at 10,000, and then the eggs hatch within 2-4 days. Boiled egg yolks are fed to the eggs which hatch into the larvae, then the larvae are transferred to the nursery pon after 10 days of age.

Abstract

Percut Village is one of the villages located on the East Coast of North Sumatra which is directly opposite the waters of the Malacca Strait so that the main livelihood of the villagers is as fishermen. During pandemic, the government has implemented a Large Scale Social Restriction policy which has an impact on the social status of the community, such as limited fishing activities which have resulted in a decrease in the selling price of caught fish. In addition, the silting of sedimentation in 2020 resulted in the tides and coastline becoming unclear so that fishermen could not go to sea optimally. Based on these considerations, knowledge dissemination and training on techniques for creating aquascapes have been carried out for groups of young fishermen in July – September 2021 in Percut Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province, North Sumatra Province. The results of this activity have a positive impact on the community to increase creativity and enrich soft skills by applying the knowledge gained to start becoming an entrepreneur as an alternative livelihood for fishermen youth groups so that they are able to compete in the midst of society and can create jobs.
