Abstract

This study aims at analyzing the existence of the implementation of the virtual learning models during the Covid-19 pandemic to encourage, explore, and evaluate effective online learning based on the students’ perspectives. This type of research is library research using qualitative descriptive methods. Data in this study were students’ perspectives from many contemporary literature sources, such as journals, books, and other relevant works of literature. By using the Connectivism theory and the PICRAT model, the results indicated that students faced many problems during the Covid-19 pandemic due to inexperienced teachers. Furthermore, the online system was not equipped with optimal learning infrastructure, giving rise to negative and positive aspects in many aspects of learning. Both teachers and students in countries affected by the Covid-19 pandemic faced similar problems, namely the online learning system which was not handled properly. Thus, with a proper understanding of the strengths and limitations of online learning, it is feasible to offer a better instructional atmosphere for students by making appropriate modifications. This study concludes that online learning and the dynamics of education reform still serve as a model for future educational development, especially for facing a pandemic. The significant contribution of this study is the findings regarding the potential of technology and the barriers that students face while learning due to digital mechanisms.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that have led to changes in Indonesia’s foreign policy, which initially avoided the emergence of a moderate Islamic identity but currently makes efforts to promote it. The research is essential as it sheds light on Indonesia’s foreign policy practices, which have historically refrained from emphasizing an Islamic identity, despite the country’s predominantly Muslim population. Furthermore, this research holds significant importance as it addresses the negative perceptions of Islam, which have often associated it with terrorism, intolerance, and opposition to peace, particularly from Western perspectives. In this study, the researchers utilized a qualitative descriptive method employing content analysis techniques to analyze the collected data. The examination of Indonesia’s foreign policy reveals its aspirations to pursue international interests by actively engaging in maintaining global peace and prioritizing a moderate Islamic identity. This study concludes that a moderate Islamic identity, as a facet of identity, is not inherently problematic or conflict-ridden; rather, it has the potential to bridge the divide between the West and Islam. Moreover, Western countries express their desire to cultivate networks of moderate Islam and view Indonesia as a competent partner in countering global terrorist networks. This cooperation stems from the shared principles of democracy and respect for human rights upheld by both the West and Indonesia.

Abstract

The research that has been done aims to analyze the effect of the work environment and employee competence on employee performance at a seafood processing company in Probolinggo City, East Java. Based on the results of the analysis of the calculation of the first hypothesis (H1), which states that the work environment has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, the t-count value of 19,845 is greater than the t-table value, which is 1,677 and the significance value obtained is less than 0.05, which means that the work environment has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, the results of the calculation analysis of the second hypothesis (H2) which states that employee competence has a positive and significant effect on employee performance obtained a t-count value of 14,471 greater than the t-table value of 1,677 and the value the significance obtained is less than 0.05, which means that employee competence has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, while the R-square value obtained is 0.897 which states that work environment variables and employee competency affect employee performance by 89.70% and the remaining 10.30% influenced by other variables.
