Abstract

ABSTRACT             The purpose of this study was to identify ectoparasites that attack pearl catfish and the incidence of ectoparasite infestation in 100 samples of pearl catfish aged one and three months. This research was carried out from January to March 2021 in Makalele's cultivation, Tuban's District, Tuban's Regency. The method used in this research is skin scraping and gill installation. Data analysis using Chi-Square Test with SPSS version 24.0 for windows. The results showed that there were 3 types of ectoparasites found, Trichodina nobilis, Trichodina pediculus, Chilodonella sp., Dactylogyrus sp. and the highest incidence of ectoparasites occurred in young fish compared to old fish with a percentage of 35% and 25%, respectively, and based on the chi-square test there was no significant difference (p️≥0.05). Keywords: Clarias gariepinus, infestation level, ectoparasites.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know whether pineapple peel juice can be used as an ovicidal of in vitro A galli. This study used eggs of A. galli worms obtained by collecting adult A. galli worms from the small intestines of fresh local chickens purchased from traditional markets in Surabaya. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments , the concentration of pineapple peel juice was 0% (Control), 5%, 10%, and 20%. Each treatment consisted of six replications, with observations on days 5, 10, 15 and 20. Developed eggs were identified with the presence of larvae within egg and the movement of larvae. The data obtained will be analyzed with the ANOVA Statistical Test with the SPSS device and then followed by the Duncan test. The results of statistical analysis showed that pineapple peel juice had a significant effect on the development of A. galli worm eggs In Vitro. The number of damaged A.galli eggs increased as they were given higher pineapple juice concentration. This proves that pineapple peel juice has higher anthelmintic effect with increasing concentration given. Pineapple peel juice 20% is the best juice concentration.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the ectoparasites and endoparasites on gastrointestinal tract that infest stray cats in Bojonegoro traditional market. The samples in this study were ectoparasites and feces from 40 stray cats in Bojonegoro traditional market. The ectoparasite samples were examined using the permanent attachment method without staining, while the feces samples were examined using three methods, namely native, simple sedimentation and fulleborn floatation. A positive sample is considered if a parasite is found that matches the characteristics of a parasite in cats sourced from scientific references. The results of the examination of 40 stray cats found 27 positive ectoparasites, 23 positive worms and 6 positive protozoa. The types of ectoparasites found were Ctneocephalides felis (67.5%), Otodectes cynotis (15%) where age and gender did not affect the prevalence, while the endoparasites found were Toxocara cati (42.5%), Ancylostoma sp. (22.5%) and Isospora felis (15%), age has effect on the prevalence obtained and sex has no effect . Keywords : Stray cats, Ectoparasites, Endoparasites in gastrointestinal tract
