Abstract

This study aims to determine the effective shaft diameter in the design analysis of polishing machines in the manufacture of camshaft, determine the suitability of the V-belt, determine the service life of the bearing, determine the ability to accept seat loads. The method used in this research is the literature review method, namely by analyzing the primary data of the components of the tool to get the values that occur in the tool. The results of the calculation of the shaft suitability analysis obtained a suitable shaft with a diameter of 13 mm which has a rotational deflection smaller than the deflection limit of 0.061o < 0.3o. Based on the calculation of the V belt, size of the V belt selected is on the market, namely the V belt type A No. 37 with a length of L = 940 mm. From the calculation results, bearing is having a lifespan of 2603.838 hours. The strength analysis of the camshaft holder using the DS Abaqus software was found not to exceed the allowable deflection limit, namely: 2.736e-09 mm <0.417mm considered safe to be used. Meanwhile the analysis of the sandpaper seat is still lower than the limit’s value or 1.786e-09 mm < 0.694mm. Thus, the sandpaper holder is said to be safe in resisting the working forces.Kata kunci: camshaft, modification, shaft,  v belt.

Abstract

Prototype cars are future vehicles with special designs that maximize efficiency. An important part of the vehicle, one of which is the chassis, which functions to support the passengers, engine, body and the weight of the chassis itself, so it is necessary to design a lightweight and strong chassis. The purpose of this research is to determine and study the stress, strain, displacement and safety factors that occur in the prototype type electric car chassis designed. 3-dimensional design modeling and simulations were performed on Autodesk Inventor software. Based on the simulation results of loading 60kg, the optimal material is aluminum 6061 compared to aluminum 6063 with the results obtained for stress, strain, displacement, and safety factor. on aluminum 6061 with successive values of 59.712 MPa, 0.000796, 1.299 mm, 4.605. While the aluminum 6063 with a value of 59.628 MPa, 0.000806, 1.316 mm, 3.585. The greater the load, the greater the stress and strain.Key words: Chassis, Desingn, Prototype, Simulation

Abstract

Boilers that use low-quality coal result in an increase in the amount of coal burning and the high formation of accumulated ash deposits (fouling  and salgging). It is necessary to conduct research  the effect of  fouling and slagging on boiler efficiency in steam power plant Moramo for the boiler performance improvement purpose. The objective of this research are identified fouling and slagging and how its affect boiler performance.  By using the principle of mass and energy balance, heat transfer in the evaporator and superheater areas are used as the basis for identifying slagging and fouling. Boiler efficiency is calculated by a direct method. An increase in flue gas temperature which is affected by a degradation in the rate of heat transfer indicates the formation of slagging and fouling. Boiler efficiency is related to the slagging index and sodium content in the ash of coal, the result of higher slagging index and lower the sodium content will further increase boiler efficiency. The best average efficiency of boiler is 89.853% when coal from supplier Y used as fuel with slagging index value is 2370.2 and sodium content in ash is 0.48%..Keyword: Fouling, slagging, heat transfer, efficiency, boiler

Abstract

Particle board is a board made of wood particles or other particle materials bonded with organic or synthetic adhesives and with the help of one or more elements of heat, pressure, humidity, catalyst and others. particleboard composites made from sawdust, waste tire powder and polyester resin on Bending and Water Absorption Tests. Comparison of composite material composition of particleboard waste wood powder, waste tire powder and polyester resin, namely 30% : 20% : 50%, 40% : 10% : 50%, 45%: 5%: 50% and 50% : 0% : 50%. The test standard is based on SNI 03-2105-2006. The results showed that the greatest bending strength value was obtained at the composition of 50%: 0%: 50% of 186.223 Kgf/cm². and the largest water absorption value was obtained at the composition of 45%: 5%: 50% at 2.581%.Keywords: Bending, Water absorption, Particle board, ,Wood powder, Used tire powder

Abstract

Fishing net lifting equipment is a tool used to lift fish catches from the sea surface to the ship. This study aims to design a fishing net lifter according to the size of the tool and has the strength of the material that is safe to use, in this study the main system is the YL802-4 type driving motor, hooks with SC42 kg/mm2 material, steel ropes with type 6x19 +1 fiber core, pulley, drum roller rope with cast iron material with material strength 1000kg/cm2, transmission type i= 40 and INP profile steel frame with profile size bar height profile= 80mm, profile width= 42 mm with a cross-sectional area of 758 mm2 , in order to lift a load of 300 kg. For the main size of this tool has a stem height of 1500mm, length of arm span 1000mm, elbow support 1250 mm.Keywords: lifting equipment, design, motor drive

Abstract

This lifting device is for lifting and lowering loads supported by truss mechanism and a hydraulic jack with a maximum lifting capacity of 480kg. The device focuses on lifting the car engines with a lifting mechanism consisting of strusses, a hydraulic jack capacity of 3 tons, and a chain package with hooks to hang the load. Method of this research is a library research as main sources to design the device. Outcome of this research is a design of lifting device for maximum lifting capacity of 400 k. Material of hook is steel carbon S45C with a maximum tensile stress of 13.26 kg/mm2 . Lifting chain is made of steel alloys Grade 80 with a maximum tensile stress of 187.37 N/mm2 . Truss is selected made of carbon steel S30C with a maximum compress stress of 442.47 kg/cm2 and all of the working stresses are below the allowable stress limits, thus the device is safe to be used.Key words: lifting, Design, Hydraulic

Abstract

The jack is one of the modern technologies that is used to facilitate work during the process of lifting heavy loads so that heavy loads will be easily lifted according to the desired needs. The purpose of this research is to know the designer of the electric lift (bold jack) and to know the designer of the gearbox/gear holder and the motor mount. This research method design design, calculate the load, calculate the torque and power transmission, . In this study, it produces 5880 joules of work with a force of 14700 N, has a dc motor with 400 watts and a rotational speed of 700 rpm with power transmission that occurs ivn some parts of the motor at 700 rpm, reducer at 480 rpm, sprocket 345.6 rpm and what happens to the jack is 57.6 rpm with a chain speed of 1.645 m/s and the allowable shear stress is 0.00019 Mp and the equivalent load is 113.37 or 5142 kgf.Key words : Formulation, clove oil. engine performance
