Abstract

This study aims to identify word forms in Ternate Malay and Indonesian dialects and their structural meanings in Indonesian. And can be used as a communication guide for local and international tourists. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative research methods, the objects used in this research are: Malay dialect of Ternate. The data in this study are basic forms and word groups in Ternate Malay. While the data collection techniques used in the study were participant observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques in this study used qualitative data analysis techniques developed by Miles and Huberman, namely, starting with data reduction, data presentation, and withdrawal. conclusion. The results obtained in this study are in the form of word forms, such as personal pronouns, verbs, noun adjectives, adverbs from various fields accompanied by examples in the form of sentences. documentation. The data analysis technique in this study uses qualitative data analysis techniques developed by Miles and Huberman, namely, starting with data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results obtained in this study are in the form of words in the types of nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs from various fields, such as economics, agriculture, fisheries, culture, politics, art, health, and other fields. practical dictionary of Ternate Malay dialect, which is useful for local and international tourists from various countries

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing how the verbal meaning of the proposition of Moro in Ternate society, what is the implication of the proposition of Moro for the community of Ternate. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, and the instruments used are observation, interview, documentation, free-to-speak (SBLC), and SPEAKING. Based on the results of the analysis of the Verbal Meaning of Moro's Dalil and Implications for the Ternate Society, it can be seen that the Moro argument is the advice of previous parents in the Ternate language which contains exemplary advice and becomes a life guide for every human being, as a medium in traditional ceremonies, as competitions in arts and cultural events, as the preservation of regional languages, and to strengthen friendship. Many people of Pulau Hiri Subdistrict still use the values ​​of Moro theorem in their daily life, especially among their parents. There are also young people who understand and are able to explain Moro's argument, especially among students. The solution is that apart from teaching parents to their children, the local government also needs to pay attention to provide a forum that can preserve Moro arguments in the sub-district of Hiri Island.

Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to determine the level of condition or status of language vitality that can be directed to save a language from extinction. The general purpose of the study of language vitality is to determine the status of a language, from extinct to safe categories. The status of the language has implications for the actions that need to be taken on the language in question, whether it is necessary to do conservation, revitalization, or simultaneously conservation and revitalization. For example, conservation actions in the form of documentation can only be carried out if the language is classified as extinct or needs to be conserved and revitalized at the same time if the language is categorized as endangered or threatened with extinction. Data for the study of language vitality consists of primary data and secondary data. Primary data is data obtained directly from the source and recorded by researchers. Primary data was obtained through a list of questions in the questionnaire. Secondary data is data that is indirectly obtained from the source. For example, data is obtained from village officials and related documents. Based on the index value of each indicator, we can say that although most people on Hiri Island speak more than one language and often interact with people from different linguistic backgrounds, the use of Ternate on Hiri Island is still dominant. People on Hiri Island still use the Ternate language as a means of communication in the family and community domains. Many parents still teach the Ternate language to their children and the children can still use the Ternate language well. The Ternate language is also still used in every traditional activity on Hiri Island. However, the use of the Ternate language began to be abandoned when the community carried out bargaining activities in the realm of markets, government, and education.
