Abstract

Saivagama is a teaching which refers to Siva as Absolute Reality. Saivagama Nusantara, namely the Saiva teachings that developed in Indonesia, describes Siva with various names and attributes, such as in the Bhuwana Kosa it is called Rudra, Vrhaspati Tattva calls it Ishvara, and various negation names such as sunya, paramasunya, paramasiva and others. Several Saiva Nusantara texts generally discuss the Absolute Reality into three main groups, namely the existence of the Absolute Reality (Siva), the emanation of the Absolute Reality, and the Reabsorption of the Absolute Reality. Existentially Siva is described as Nirguna and Saguna. In principle Siva is characterless. However, when the active principle of Himself brings creation, then Siva is both immanent and transcendent at the same time. While in creation, Siva was shackled by various factors related to the material aspect. Meanwhile, the reabsorption aspect of absolute Reality describes the pralaya aspect, where all elements are returned to their highest aspect. Every being born evolutionarily is directed towards this process of reabsorption.

Abstract

Kama is an eternal human matter. Every civilization traces it deeply. India in the context of Hindu civilization is one that is very massive in discussing it and it is stated in both literary works and reliefs of sacred buildings. The discussion not only concerns about sexual relations and their behavior, but tries to explore the secret spaces that are in it. When the existence of the kama leaves a side of the secret that is not able to be revealed, then appear the form of the Kama God who represents kama itself, so that the human mind is able to reach it. This work descriptively describes aspects of the theology of kama extracted from text sources. In the divinity map, Kama is a God or is called a Kama God. Then, the Siva-Parvati, Rama-Sita, and Radha-Krishna relations formed a cluster of theologies which were the object of worship in the religious life of the Hindu community. In the reality of life, kama is associated with the art of making love and important actions in terms of regeneration for the continuity of life.

Abstract

Culture and mythological narratives about Ganesha are inherent in the life of the Hindu community in Bali, but have undergone various changes along with the pace of civilization. Evidently, Ganesha as one of the sacred symbols is widely used in various life interests of modern society, which has no relevance to the sacred context. This paper analyzes the implementation of Ganesha's symbolic mythology in the contemporary cultural space of Balinese society. Mythologically, Ganesha is believed to be the son of Shiva who has the power to overcome all obstacles. This mythology is contained in the attributes of Ganesha which have a symbolic meaning. The full embodiment of the Ganesha symbol in the modern era is widely implemented in the contemporary culture of Balinese life, both in the fields of architecture, aesthetics (art), social organization, including economic life. This work is expected to be a reference for fostering a critical and selective culture when using the Ganesha symbol in various aspects of Balinese life.

Abstract

Sulinggih in carrying out the Mudra sometimes has the same meaning but the form is different. The uniqueness of the mudra movement is strongly influenced by the aguron - guron line. This work descriptively describes Shiva's sulinggih mudra which is practiced during the implementation of Dewa Yadnya. The rhythmic movement of the mudra can carry Sulinggih's soul to Shiva at the time of the Dewa Yadnya ceremony. The stages and forms of mudra have a deep meaning and function, starting from the Akasa Mudra Movement to the Tangkep Hand Movement and the Hredaya Mudra. The energy of the mudra at the time of the dewa yadnya ceremony is able to synergize or synchronize the energies between planets. Spiritually the form and movement of each type of mudra will be related to the form and energy of one of the dewatas as a manifestation of God. Therefore, this mudra energy came to be known as manik secap asta gina, meaning that through the hands everything will be realized. The mudra of Sulinggih Shivat is closely related to Yantra (in the form of offerings), Mantra (puja), and Mudra in the process of purification of the Bhuana Agung.
