Abstract

Air has an important meaning in the life of living things and the existence of other things, so it must be protected for human life and other living things. The utilization must be done by maintaining air quality from air pollution. Indoor air quality is also a problem that needs to get attention because indoor air pollution was larger than the outdoors, which affects human health. As for how to reduce indoor air pollution by utilizing plants, other than as an ornamental plant, some plants can also function as pollutant cleaners. One of them is like the plant used in this research that is Sirih Gading (Epipremnum Aureum). The purpose of this study is to determine the ability of Sirih Gading plants (Epipremnum Aureum) in absorbing indoor air pollutants. The method used are SNI 7119.10: 2011, SNI 16-7058-2004 and NIOSH 1501: 2003. The results obtained are the Sirih Gading plants (Epipremnum Aureum) capable of absorbing carbon monoxide and benzene pollutants but not so much affect the dust particles

Abstract

Composting is a form of decomposing organic matter with the help of organisms for bioconversion. The composting process requires several requirements to produce good quality compost, namely water content, pH and nutrient availability which is reflected in the C / N ratio. One type of insect larvae that can be used as an element of organism is the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) insect. The effort to recycle organic waste involving Black Soldier Fly (BSF) insect larvae is a new paradigm in the management of organic waste as decomposers or decomposers of organic waste. The result of the conversion of organic waste into solid compost fertilizer has a moisture content value that exceeds quality standards, C-organic value and C / N ratio which is below the quality standard, has a basic pH, and macro nutrients (N + P2O5 + K2O) located in the Permentan quality standard No. 261 / KPTS / SR.30 / M /4/2019, while for liquid compost fertilizer the value of C-organic and macro nutrients (N + P2O5 + K2O) is in Permentan quality standard No.261 / KPTS / SR.30 / M / 4/2019.

Abstract

In this day and age that waste is a problem serious enough, so many efforts to reduce poverty by means of reducing, recycling and destroy it. The producing a great variety of waste in the form of of liquids, solid and gas. Is not a good medical management waste could cause problem with health care and the environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of knowledgeand attitudes of health workers with medical waste management at community health centerSelayo. The research is of research the quantitative cross sectional. The population in this research is all health workers of community health center Selayo totaled 60 people. The sample technique used is the total sampling. The sample in this research is all health workers medical waste of 60 people.The analysis used in this research use software IBM SPSS Statistics Version 26. The result showed a value of knowledge of health workers (X1) -value =0,000 < significance (Y)= 0,05 which means there is a relationship between knowledge of health workers with medical waste management at community health center Selayo an d a value of attitudes of health workers (X2) -value =0,003 <significance (Y)= 0,05 which means there is a relationship between attitude of health workers with medical waste management at community health center Selayo. A value of ( X1) and value (X2) value=0,000< significance (Y)=0,05 which means there is a relationship between knowledge and attitudes of health workers with medical waste management at community health center Selayo.The existence of a relationship between knowledge and attitudes of health workers with medical waste management, then to expect every health workershould have a good knowledge of and attitudes towards the medical waste management in community health center so that actions taken in the handle and manage medical waste can be run correctly

Abstract

Polusi udara adalah polusi yang terjadi di udara yang disebabkan adanya polutan yang berupa gas maupun zat partikel. Efek polusi udara pada ruangan tertutup ternyata lebih besar dibanding di luar ruangan. Salah satu cara mengurangi polusi udara adalah dengan meletakkan tanaman yang dapat mengurangi gas polutan tersebut di dalam ruangan. Tanaman yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tanaman blanceng (Dieffenbachia spp). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui tingkat kemampuan tanaman Blanceng (Dieffenbachia spp) yang digunakan dalam ruangan sebagai tanaman penyerap polutan di dalam rumah. Metode yang digunakan adalah SNI 19-7119.3-2005 dan SNI 19-7119.4-2005. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah tanaman blanceng (Dieffenbachia spp) efektif mengurangi logam timbal namun tidak untuk partikel debu.

Abstract

This study aims to design a waste water treatment plant (WWTP) design; reference in making WWTP in another place; and do waste water treatment so it is not harmful to the surrounding environment. The location of the research in the Jakarta Transmart building, when this research was conducted in March to June 2018. The method used in the implementation of this study planning was the preparation of reports that included analysis of waste characteristics; review of literature studies that are used to study supporting theories during conducting problem analysis and discussion so that they can be considered into the planning of wastewater treatment institu- tions that will be carried out; collection of primary data and secondary data as material for study of wastewater treatment plant planning; and design, calculation of the dimensions of the wastewater treatment plant, technical specifications. Planning criteria, among others: processing efficiency and achieving target results in accordance with desired quality standards; land area needed; and care must be easy and simple. The results showed that the estimated discharge of water requirements found in the Transmart building was around 59.97 m³ / day, obtained from the calculation of the area of the building building to meet the needs of clean water needed per square meter. Aeration tank volume and Aeration 1 dimensions: 3.35 m long, 4.450 m wide, 2.550 m depth, 0.625 m free space height, 38.01 m³ volume. Aeration 2: 3.375 m long, 4.450 m wide, 2.550 m depth, 0.625 m free space height, 38.3 m³ volume. Total aeration body area = 76,315 m. Tub sedimentation: 3.35 m long, 2.850 m wide, 2.350 m depth, 0.90 m free space height, 38.3 m³ volume. Volume: 13.7. Tub Equalization: 2.625 m long, 5.975 m wide, 2.60 m depth, free space height 0.575 m, volume 40 m³. In the design of planning the installation of wastewater treatment systems for activated sludge should be added or further processing so that the water from processing can be reused and not wasted, such as filtration so that it can be used such as for washing vehicles, watering plants etc.

Abstract

Environmental sanitation greatly affects human health if an environment has good sanitation, the health status will increase and vice versa if an environment has poor sanitation, it will cause illness. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between personality (Personality) and environmental sanitation facilities, with respondents as many as 97 people of RW 02 slipi. From this survey, it is found that there is a positive and significant relationship between personality and means of environmental sanitation. Based on these findings, it can be concluded, if environmental sanitation facilities are improved, then personality needs to be improved even better.

Abstract

Industrial development increases pollution in the environment, while the results of industrial wastedisposal generally produce waste containing heavy metals, one of which is mercury (Hg). Eggshell iswaste originating from households and the food industry which is made from eggs and has the potentialas an adsorbent to absorb mercury ions (Hg2 +). In this study, egg shells were prepared with twotreatments: egg shell adsorbent and with eggshells activated by 30% NaOH after heating in a furnaceat 600 oC for 2 hours then mashed with a particle size of 200 mesh. The adsorbent is then used toabsorb Hg2 + ions from the Hg (NO3) 2 compound. H2O as much as 0.01 ppm with the activatedeggshell and eggshell adsorbent weight of 2 grams each, where the adsorption process is carried outwith 2 contact times, namely 60 minutes and 120 minutes and tested with a Mercury Analyzer. Theadsorption process obtained, the optimum at the contact time of 120 minutes and the eggshell adsorbenttreatment with an average percentage of 93.931%.

Abstract

Waste is a serious environmental problem in Indonesia. DKI Jakarta is one of the cities with the largest waste contributor in Bantargebang Integrated landfills. Water is the fastest carrier ofwaste than the air. The Government of DKI Jakarta is making efforts to clean up wastein stream by forming a unit called the Stream Cleaner Unit under the auspices of the Environment Agency, to be responsible for the condition of solid waste in stream in the DKI Jakarta area. Pasar Rebo Sub-district is the first doorway for waste which is coming from Depok City. The purpoeses from this study is to determine how the waste transportation system is carried out by the Environmental Service and the Stream Cleaner Unit as the main institution dealing with waste problems in water bodies. The method of analysis used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The scope used in this research is the Water Stream of Pasar Rebo Sub-District, East Jakarta Administrative City. Based on research, supervisions and the number of used transportations needs to be increased. The awareness of the surrounding community also needs to be increased to create a healthy environment and clean water stream.

Abstract

The environment is said to be a polluted area, if there is a change in the standards of environmental quality standards which include, water, soil and air. This can happen by several factors, one of which is mining activities. Rice husk is a form of agricultural waste which is a "waste" from rice processing which has the potential as an adsorbent to absorb lead ions (Pb). In this study, rice husks were prepared with two treatments: non-activating and with 30% NaOH activation after being heated in a furnace at a temperature of 400 oC for 1 hour then the adsorbent was sieved with particles that passed through a 40 mesh sieve. The adsorbent was used to absorb 200 ml of Pb ions with an adsorbent weight of 5 grams, where the adsorption process was carried out in 2 contact times, 60 minutes and 120 minutes and tested in the laboratory. The adsorption process was obtained, the optimum was at a contact time of 120 minutes and the treatment was activated, with an average percentage of 94%.
