Abstract

This research aims to know the effect of learning based activity toward understanding of concepts and problem analysis in psyco-pshysiology class of pshycology faculty, Islamic state university. Participants are 68 first year students which are divided into control group and treatment group. 34 students of control group have lecturing and multimedia non animated method while other 34 studends of treatment group have activity based learning method.  Data were analyzed using Independent T-Test. Result shows that activity based learning method improve the understanding of concepts and problem analysis ability.

Abstract

Indonesia is the country with the highest number of cervical cancer sufferers in the world. Although the use of sanitary pads containing harmful whitening agents has been known as one of the predispositions of cervical cancer, the rate of cervical cancer continues to increase. This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge and perceived severity of cervical cancer with the behavior of choosing sanitary napkin in college students. This study used a quantitative method of cross-sectional study on 125 research subjects. The results showed that there were no significant differences in the selection of pads both in the knowledge of high and low cervical cancer. However, there is interaction between high knowledge and high perceived severity on sanitary pads selection.

Abstract

Trauma is emotional response that involve intense fear, helplessness, or horror. Trauma raises three reactions i.e. disrupt memory, avoidance behavior and emergence of physical disorders. Children love games. This study aimed to test the effect of the playing approach against avoidance behaviors in a child with treatment trauma due to chronic disease. This study used a quasi experimental by Single Subject Randomized Time Series Design. The research subject was a seven years old child who suffering chronic Lyme disease with a fist size swelling in her face who showed avoidance behaviour trauma. Lego, drawing, folding, and story telling have been choosen as playing approach. The avoidance behaviour were observed consists of treatment avoidance and laboratory avoidance. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis in the form of graphs. The results shown that playing method had lowering effect in both avoidance behaviors.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how organizational climate can moderate the effect of goal orientation on organizational withdrawal behavior (OWB). The research design used causality quantitative method. The sampling technique used population with the total of 207 members of Student Press in a university in Bandung. The data collection used a set of questionnaire consists of Organizational Withdrawal Behavior Scale, Goal Orientation Scale, and Organizational Climate Questionnaire. The data analysis used PROCESS Moderation Model test. The results show that goal orientation affect organizational withdrawal behavior significantly and organizational climate can moderate the effect. This finding indicate that organizational climate has a significant role to improve goal orientation on organizational withdrawal behavior.

Abstract

Elephantiasis or Filariasis has been reported endemic in Kabupaten Bandung with potentially result in defects. This research aimed to explore health psychology of chronic Elephantiasis patients in Kabupaten Bandung. Qualitative-descriptive method has been used to explore the respondent’s psychodynamics, health behavior, and treatment seeking behavior, while quantitative-descriptive method has been used to determine the percentage distribution. The result showed that there were three kind of respondent’s psychodynamic namely denial (7.7%), anxiety (85%), and depression (7.7%). Due to the lack of knowledge about the disease, the majority of respondents (77%) were hiding their disease.Type of treatment seeking behaviors has been chosen by respondent namely relying to the paranormal (92%), doctors (23%), traditional physician (54%), and acupuncturist (15%).
