Abstract

Visual Basic Application for Excel is a simple program language and has the power to process data quickly, let alone the utilization of math functions in Microsoft Excel can help work on Excel display more interactive so that teachers can create props inside Excel. The advantages of Microsoft Excel compared to mathematical software are the many math functions and images available in the form of shapes or pictures. With the availability of VBA, math and image functions in Microsoft Excel, teachers can design the creation of media related to mathematics learning especially helping to develop the ability of junior high school students who have difficulty connecting mathematics lessons with basic mathematics knowledge requirements. In general, that most students in Indonesia have not solved mathematical problems, therefore, by using VBA for Excel the ability of junior high school students to improve in the usual way significantly with a t-test with 0.006 <0.05 and there is an association between Trust self-comfidence student with students mathematical comprehension skills with a contingency value with a significant amount of 0.016 <0.05 with a contingency coefficient of 0.525 including a moderate association.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah apakah terdapat perbedaan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual dengan yang menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual berseting kooperatif, dan menelaah apakah tedapat perbedaan self confidence siswa yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual dengan yang menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual berseting kooperatif, serta menganalisis apakah terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan representasi matematis dengan self confidence siswa.Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen. Sampel adalah 67 siswa kelas X yang berasal dari dua kelas di salah satu SMK di Cimahi. Kedua kelas diberikan pretes dan postes. Kelas eksperimen 1 yaitu kelas X Akuntansi 1 dan eksperimen 2 yaitu kelas X Akuntansi 2 diberikan angket berupa selft confidence siswa. Hipotesis diuji melalui uji parametrik (Uji-t), Mann Whitney dan juga uji korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual dengan yang menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual berseting cooperative script; tidak tedapat perbedaan self confidence siswa yang belajar menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual dengan yang menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual berseting cooperative script; dan terdapat hubungan antara kemampuan representasi matematis dengan self confidence siswa. Kata kunci: Pendekatan kontekstual, cooperative script, kemampuaran representasi matematis siswa, dan self confidence  ABSTRACT This research purposed to analyze the differences of mathematical representative ability between students who receiving mathematics learning through contextual approach and contextual approach which setting cooperative script. Furthermore, this research analyzed the differences of self confidence between both of the classes and correlation between self confidence and mathematical representative ability. This research is a quasi experimental study which the design is control group non-equivalent. There were 67 samples from tenth grade that derived from two classes at one of the SMK in Cimahi. The students in both of the classes were given questionnaire which quaestions are about self confidence. The result showed: there are not the differences of mathematical representative ability between students who receiving mathematics learning through contextual approach and contextual approach which setting cooperative script; there are not the differences of self confidence between students who receiving mathematics learning through contextual approach and contextual approach which setting cooperative script; and there are the correlation between self confidence and mathematical representative ability. Keywords: contextual approach, cooperative script, mathematical representative ability, and self confidence

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the mathematical problem solving ability of junior high school students who use a contextual approach with the cooperative model of think pair share type is better than the scientific approach. The subject of the study was the eighth grade junior high school students in Cimahi, while the sample was class VIII B as an experimental class that got learning using a contextual approach with a cooperative model of think pair share type and class VIII C became a control class that got learning using a scientific approach. The instrument in the study was a matter of mathematical problem solving ability consisting of five item description items. Based on the results of all stages of the study, it can be concluded that the mathematical problem solving ability of students whose learning uses a contextual approach through a cooperative model of think pair share type is better than that of learning using a scientific approach.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan bahan ajar desain didaktis untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa SMA. Metode Penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Alat pengumpul data dalam penelitian ini berupa tes kemampuan berpikir reflektif awal dan akhir yang merupakan soal uraian sebanyak 5 soal yaitu Tes Kemampuan Berpikir Reflektif  Matematis  (TKBRM). Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI sebanyak 20 siswa di MA Cahaya Harapan Bandung Barat. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini  adalah 1). Desain didaktis yang berupa bahan ajar (LKS) mendukung siswa untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis, 2). Instrumen dan LKS yang dihasilkan memenuhi standar dan valid untuk digunakan, 3).Terdapat indikator yang paling rendah dalam pencapaian TKBRM siswa, yaitu indikator mengevaluasi proses penyelesaian, 4). Desain didaktis yang dikembangkan dapat mengatasi rendahnya kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa pada materi program linear.

Abstract

This study aims to be able to analyze the difficulties of Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri in solving statistical questions. The method used is the case study method. The data used are written tests and interviews. The population and sample in this study were 32 students. The instrument of this study used a questionnaire, namely 6 questions related to statistical questions. Data processing is used by means of written tests and pictures of student answers. The research procedure is the stages of planning, operating, data analysis, and concluding a data. The research will be tested with a number of statistical questions at the application and testing stages, then interviews will be given to several students. The results of the analysis show several criteria based on students' ability to solve statistical problems. Students with high abilities have difficulty in determining the final answer. Students with moderate ability levels experience difficulties in calculating an answer. Students with low ability levels have difficulty understanding the questions given and lack understanding of the material.

Abstract

This research focuses on the results of the analysis of the errors that occur when students solve problems related to matrices at the high school level, assuming that there are many errors in solving these problems from different perspectives. The main purpose of this research is to find out the most common types of errors and the factors affecting them, based on the research object presented by the researcher. The study was prepared through a qualitative study, where the results of an error analysis obtained directly from the evaluation of high school students were examined. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that students' errors in solving  matrix material problems include different types of errors, which  are usually identified as errors in performing matrix operations, such as  addition or subtraction errors of matrix elements. In addition, there are  errors in understanding the basic concepts of matrices, such as errors in identifying the size of a matrix  or identifying the elements of a matrix. Contributing factors to these errors are lack of conceptual understanding, lack of practice and confusion in applying the relevant formulas.

Abstract

This study is a descriptive qualitative research for the purpose of analyzing errors and explaining the types of mistakes made by students when solving problems based on the text format provided. This research was conducted at a tertiary institution in Cianjur, with 10 research subjects in class VII B in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year at SMP Negeri 5 Pasirkuda. The data collection method in this study was in the form of a written test. Based on the data presentation, the student error rate is 1) conceptual error, namely 66.9% with a "high" error percentage; 2) 10% procedural errors with a percentage of "very low" error categories; 3) 22.1% technical failure with a "low" failure percentage rate. Therefore, we can conclude that the conceptual understanding of student set material is relatively low. Therefore, the teacher should pay attention to students' conceptual understanding of the overall concept of the material and show students the important parts of the whole concept.
