Abstract

Parents, community, and goverment have a responsibility to make sure child’s right are respected, protected, and fulfilled. This needs to be supported with a good parenting. This paper aims to: analyse parenting of child of women migrant workers in Soppeng district and describe fulfillment of child’s right of women migrant workers in Soppeng district. This study was used qualitative and quantitative approach. A total 44 families of women migrant workers was used data in this study. Quantitative data was analyzed descriptively, and qualitative data was analyzed with 3 different plots (reduction, presentation, and make conclusion) at the same time. There are some factors that affect the parenting of child of women migrant workers, specifically parent’s education, family economic condition, sex of the child, number of children, children’s age, and the availability of a dependable caregiver. The result showed that women migrant workers families are divided into 3 stages in the family life cycle and there are 7 parenting patterns in the family of women migrant workers. Many families involve mother’s family than father’s family. However, not all parenting patterns can fulfill child’s rights. All stakeholders should be involved to upgrade the fulfillment of child’s right and improve their life.

Abstract

ABSTRACTFulfillment child’s rights of women migrant workers is not only the parents responsibility, but communities responsibility as well.The presence of community in parenting is presumed to support the fulfillment child’s rights of women migrant workers. This research aims to describe fulfillment of child’s rights of women migrant workers in Soppeng district and analyze the social capital in community that affect to the fulfillment of child’s rights of women migrant workers. This study which uses mixed-method by combining qualitative and quantitative approaches. There are five child’s right that must be fulfilled, are the right to civil and freedom, the right to family and alternative parenting, the right to health and welfare, the right to education,the use of leisure and cultural activities, and the right to special protection. The results show that some of child’s rightsare not properly fulfilled, particularly for boys in the right to civil and freedom and the right to family and alternative parenting. Even though it is not utilized well by family of women migrant workers, social capital of consummatory and instrumental in community possesses a significant role to encourage the parenting for child of women migrant workers that is undertaken by caregiver.Keywords: Social capital, child’s rights, parenting, women migrant workersABSTRAKPemenuhan hak dasar anak buruh migran perempuan tidak hanya menjadi tanggung jawab orang tua, tetapi juga komunitas. Kehadiran komunitas dalam pengasuhan dianggap memberikan dukungan terhadap pemenuhan hak dasar anak buruh migran perempuan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan pemenuhan hak dasar anak buruh migran perempuan di Kabupaten Soppeng dan menganalisis modal sosial dalam komunitas yang memengaruhi pemenuhan hak dasar anak buruh migran perempuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Terdapat lima hak dasar anak yang wajib dipenuhi, yaitu hak sipil dan kebebasan, hak lingkungan keluarga dan pengasuhan alternatif, hak kesehatan dasar dan kesejahteraan, hak pendidikan, pemanfaatan waktu luang dan kegiatan seni budaya, serta hak perlindungan khusus. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak semua hak dasar anak buruh migran perempuan terpenuhi dengan baik, khususnya bagi anak laki-laki. Modal sosial komunitas yang bersifat consummatory dan instrumental memiliki peran besar untuk mendukung pengasuhan yang dilakukan pengasuh pengganti bagi anak buruh migran perempuan, tetapi belum dimanfaatkan dengan baik oleh keluarga BMP.Kata kunci: Modal sosial, hak dasar anak, pengasuhan, buruh migran perempuan

Abstract

Land-use changes or land conversion issues not only poses a threat of ecological or environmental, but also trigger a variety of dynamics and complexity of social relations in it. West Cilebut Villages has been the target of investors and developers of housing since the 1990s, and now the West Cilebut Villages has changed from an area full of green “romantic” village, into the region filled with concrete. Therefore, this study was conducted to answer fundamental issues related to the issue of land conversion in the West Cilebut Village, first is to see the map and interests between actors in relation to land conversion in the West Cilebut Village, and second to know the social interactions dynamics that occur in West Cilebut community, following the land conversion from the farm into housing estates. The results showed that there are three main actors in relation to issues of land use change in West Cilebut Village: (1) The Housing Developer; (2) Village Apparatus / Government; (3) Society; where the three actors have a role and importance of different orientations. Meanwhile, social interaction between housing and rural communities basically shows a relationship of mutual need. Construction of housing community that luxurious and exclusive slowly turns into inclusive and reflect a resiprocity of the two communities.

Abstract

Public spaces to be crucial and indispensable component of democratic civilizations. Public spaces are used for more than just leisure activities. However, public space has significance as a space to dialectics of society. Using a quantitative method and a descriptive analysis of the data gathered from 165 respondents, this study aims to give an overview of the youth in Parepare have begun to interpret public space to oversee many issue and policies. In addition, the youth of parepare also have the opinion that public spaces should be accessible to anyone and utilized for the common good. However, the youth of Parepare contend that the government's alligments in preparing an equal public space for the community.
