Abstract

Digital technology was initially only considered as a trivial thing, not important but became very much needed when the COVID-19 pandemic spread out. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of online chat applications or chat on mobile devices can be used to assist the learning process. Developers continue to make the latest innovations to develop chat applications to increase user productivity. Nowadays, there are chat application services that are very popular among the general public, namely Whatsapp, Telegram, and LINE. The purpose of this research is to find out the preferences of mobile device users when choosing a chat application that is used as a means of online study grups. The research method used is the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method with the criteria used are application access speed, features, ease of use, and user satisfaction. The result of this research is that the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method can recommend the selection of chat applications as a means of online study grups.

Abstract

Printed books are still widely used as learning resources in schools and universities; digital learning resources are needed with the acceleration of technological transformation and the start of the distance learning trend. Electronic books can be an alternative to a digital learning resource. Electronic books are environmentally friendly (paperless) and do not need physical space for storage; they also have high mobility because they are easy to carry anywhere. This study aims to develop an e-module with animation effects and interactive multimedia that can be used with computers and smartphones. The developed e-module focuses on fundamental algorithms and programming courses. The development model is 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The media and material validation results from the developed digital interactive book-based e-module application were 89.00% (media) and 88.33% (material), with a very feasible category. The e-module readability test on 30 students was obtained by 81,00%, with the category also very feasible. So, developing an e-module based on digital books is stated to meet the needs and have a high feasibility level of use.
