Abstract

Osteoathritis (OA) is characterized by degeneration of articular cartilage, subchondral bone, synovial fluid and synovium. Nitric oxide (NO) is proinflammatory cytokine that play a significant role in the pathogenesis of OA via cartilage and bone degradation by synovial inflammation. Green tea is a novel functional food for treating osteoarthritis and inhibiting the production of inflammatory mediators such as nitric oxide. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of green tea extract to the nitric oxide levels and degree of knee joint damage in the rabbit osteoarthitis model. The Freud’s adjuvant complete was performed to induce OA, as many as sixteen male rabbits (New Zealand white) were randomly divided into four groups: adjuvant injection, adjuvant and green tea (injection), adjuvant and green tea (per oral), and control group. The control group only received drinking water, the Freud adjuvant (0.2 ml) and green tea extract (200 mg/kg bw) were orally and injection administered for eight weeks. The articular cartilage damage was evaluated histologically according to MANKIN score. NO levels were determined by nitric oxide assay. Data was analysed by Chi square test. The result of this study showed the surface structure damage of cartilage increased after adjuvant-induced. Green tea extract decrease significantly (p=0.02) the degree of knee joint damage after adjuvant-induced in rabbit osteoarthritis models. NO levels increased after OA induction. The green tea extract administration (via injection) can significantly (p = 0.038) decrease NO levels compare to adjuvant group. Green tea extract decrease the knee joint damage and NO proinflamantory levels in rabbit of osteoarthritis model

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Kualitas anak dapat dilihat dari pertumbuhan dan perkembangannya sejak kecil. Salah satu perkembangan yang perlu diperhatikan sejak dini adalah perkembangan motorik kasar pada anak. Motorik kasar adalah kemampuan yang membutuhkan koordinasi sebagian besar bagian tubuh anak. Gerakan motorik kasar melibatkan aktivitas otot-otot besar seperti otot tangan, otot kaki dan seluruh tubuh anak. Deteksi dini pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak penting untuk menemukan adanya penyimpangan tumbuh kembang serta mengenal faktor resiko pada anak. Deteksi dapat dilakukan dengan parameter ukuran antropometrik. Dalam ajaran Islam, telah dijelaskan bagaimana proses pembentukan manusia dimulai dari pertemuan ovum dan sperma hingga janin ditiup ruh, serta bagaimana mengasuh dan mendidik anak menurut tuntunan Rasulullah SAW.Metode:Studi ini merupakan studi deskriptif analitik dengan rancangan penelitian cross sectional. Populasi dalam  penelitian ini adalah murid berusia 4-5 tahun di TK Al-Azhar Kelapa Gading yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi serta kriteria eksklusi. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling.Hasil: Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan selama 5 hari dilakukan pengukuran lingkar kepala menggunakan Grafik Nellhaus dan pengukuran perkembangan motorik kasar dengan Grafik Denver II kepada 40 murid di TK Al-Azhar Kelapa Gading, yang terdiri atas 23 murid laki-laki dan 17 orang murid perempuan, ditemukan 4 dari 40 anak diduga mengalami keterlambatan kemampuan motorik kasar. Kategori caution terdapat pada lingkar kepala 50 – 52 cm dan 53 cm, sedangkan pada kategori delayed , pada rentang 50 – 52 dan 52 – 53 cm, dan pada kategori normal hampir seluruh rentang lingkar kepala memiliki kategori ini dan di dominasi oleh rentang 50 – 52 cm.  Simpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara lingkar kepala dengan perkembangan motorik kasar pada anak usia 4-5 tahun dikarenakan tidak ada masalah pada lingkar kepala anak-anak di TK Al Azhar.

Abstract

Abstract written in English maximum 250 words. Abstract is made concise and clear with italic format. Abstract contains Online lectures during the COVID-19 pandemic are implemented to reduce face-to-face activities. Online lectures have various impacts on students, one of them is reduced physical activity. The result of online lectures is a change in waist circumference and hip circumference. This may cause obesity in students. The objective of this study is to show the changes that occur and the relationship between changes in the shape of the hip and waist circumference due to online lectures in Medical Students of YARSI University Class of 2019. This study used a descriptive analytic study with a Paired t-Test research design. The sample size used in this study is 72 students. Sampling method used in this study is a purposive sampling method. The research instrument is a sheet recording the waist and hip circumferences measured by a tape and repeated 2 times. Statistical analysis was performed by univariate test and bivariate Paired t-Test. Islamic views regarding changes in the body, one of which is waist and hip circumference due to lifestyle, will be held accountable later. Allah commands His people to be responsible for the body that has been given and take good care of it.
