Abstract

The study aims to investigate the phenomenon of the use of social media technologies by SMEs. These samples included 81 SMEs in Yogyakarta who use social media technology. Data collected by approaching directly to the respondent by survey method. The number of respondent is 81 SMEs. Data were analyzed with Descriptive Methods include frequency characteristics of respondents and the adoption of social media technologies and Crosstab Test. Based on the results of the study, the largest social frequencies used social media, namely Facebook, with the largest percentage of types of products, namely clothing. While most used instant messaging that Blackberry Messanger and WhatsApp. For the activity of the largest social media use is for the already varied activities that leave comments on the site pages/online social media of other people, add friends, create a fan page, create a new photo tag, write the status of the product, and upload photos of products. The frequency content renewal done in less than one week. For greatest impact, namely the use of social media to increase the number of customers, increasing the number of sales, and cost savings promotion.

Abstract

The purpose of research is to examine how the seed sector contribution to the GRDP Kulon Progo District of Yogyakarta Special Region. The study was conducted by analyzing secondary data time series based on the undertaking of the GRDP from 2009 to 2013.Location Quotient analysis results show featured sector Kulon Progo there are four sectors, namely agriculture, mining and quarrying, manufacturing, and services sectors. Based on Shift-Share analysis, it was concluded that the Construction Sector topped the largest percentage of positive growth, the largest production ratio, and the value of the largest Net Shift in Kulon Progo District. According to the Boston Consulting Group Matrix, the services sector is the only sector of the economy in Kulon Progo which are in quadrant star. So, these services sector need to be maintained in order to increase its policy of high growth rates and contributed greatly to the Kulon Progo GRDP.
