Abstract

Teknik recovery emas(Au) yang berkembang bersifat berbahaya dan berdampak buruk terhadap lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mensintesis adsorben ramah lingkungan termodifikasi secara kimia dengan asam sulfat dari kulit mangga. Adsorben hasil sintesis selanjutnya diaplikasikan sebagai penyerap selektif emas(Au) dalam larutan. Nilai kapasitas, konstanta laju dan energi adsorpsi ditentukan dengan uji kinetika adsorpsi. Penelitian diawali dengan sintesis adsorben termodifikasi asam sulfat dari kulit mangga. Produk sintesis dikarekterisasi menggunakan FTIR dan SEM sebelum maupun sedudah menyerap emas. Data kandungan emas setelah proses adsorpsi diukur dengan alat AAS. Spektra FTIR menunjukan keberhasilan sintesis adsorben kulit mangga termodifikasi asam sulfat dan interaksinya dengan emas(Au). Hasil SEM menunjukan perbedaan bentuk permukaan adsorben sebelum dan sesudah menyerap emas. Proses adsorpsi emas oleh adsorben yang disintesis mengikuti model kinetika orde dua semu (pseudo-2) dengan nilai kapasitas, konstanta laju, dan energi adsorpsi adalah 130 mmol/kg, 0,1137 mM-1s-1 dan 5442,72 J/mol.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan analisis in silico senyawa tabir surya Etil Para Metoksi Sinamat (EPMS) berdasarkan data transisi elektronik molekul senyawa yang bertujuan untuk memperkirakan EPMS sebagai senyawa tabir surya perisai alami UV-B. Kajian dilakukan dengan membuat model molekul senyawa tabir surya standar Isopropil Para Metoksi Sinamat (IPMS) yang dioptimasi geometri menggunakan metode semiempirik AM1 dan dilanjutkan optimasi analisis spektra transisi elektronik dengan metode ZINDO/S, ZINDO 1, PM3, dan AM1. Analisis spektra transisi elektronik difokuskan pada UV-B (290-315 nm). Hasil kajian secara umum menunjukkan analisis spekta transisi elektronik terbaik adalah ZINDO/s. Perhitungan dengan metode ZINDO/S pada IPMS menunjukkan λmax yaitu 290,77 nm dan senyawa EPMS diperoleh nilai λmax 292,41 nm. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa EPMS dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai perisai alami UV-B.

Abstract

Synthesis of 1,1-dibutoxybutane from the single reagent of n-butanol using Cr/Activated Carbon (Cr/AC) as a catalyst has been done. The aims of this research were to evaluate the effect of temperature, amount of catalyst, and alcohol flow rate towards the yield of 1,1-dibutoxybutane. Activated carbon (AC) was prepared by activating coconut shell carbon at 650 °C in the atmosphere of H2 at a flow rate of 15 mL/min for 4 h, and then it was washed using acetone in a Soxhlet for 15 rounds, washed 3 times by 1.0 M HCl, and finally, it was sieved at 60–80 mesh. Metal content was analyzed using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) of Na, Ca, and Fe. The AC was impregnated with Cr(VI) solution and reduced with H2 at 650 °C. The acidity of Cr/AC catalyst was determined by the adsorption of ammonia vapor. Optimization of n-butanol conversion to 1,1-dibutoxybutane using Cr/AC catalyst was conducted in an oven using variations of temperature of 450, 500, and 550 °C, catalyst amount of 5, 10, and 15 g, under an alcohol flow rate of 0.10, 0.50, and 0.90 mL/min. The conversions of 1,1-dibutoxybutane were analyzed by GC-MS and 1H-NMR. The results showed that after washing by acetone and 1.0 M HCl, the content of metals in the AC was significantly decreased. The AC and Cr/AC showed acidity of 2.49 and 8.27 mmol/g, respectively. The highest product of 1,1-dibutoxybutane (53.42%) was reached at 450 °C using 5 g catalyst of Cr/AC under the alcohol flow rate of 0.10 mL/min.

Abstract

Synthesis of cobalt-doped zirconium titanate (Co-doped ZrTiO4) as a potential photocatalyst with visible-light-response had been conducted. Materials used in this research were titanium tetraisopropoxide (TTIP) as a precursor of TiO2, ZrO2 as another semiconductor for coupling, and CoSO4·7H2O as the source of cobalt dopant. The composite was prepared by the sol-gel method with various cobalt contents and calcination temperatures. Composites with various Co dopant contents (0, 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9% (Co wt./Ti wt.)) were calcined at 500 °C for 4 h. In addition, the composite with 5% of dopant content was calcined at 700 and 900 °C to observe the influence of calcination temperature. All samples were characterized by using X-ray powder diffraction method (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), specular reflectance UV-Vis spectroscopy (SRUV), and scanning electron microscopy equipped with X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS). Co-doped ZrTiO4 with the lowest bandgap (2.94 eV) was achieved in a sample containing 3% of cobalt content calcined at 500 °C.

Abstract

Potential energy curves (PECs) and energy profiles of atomic O attack on coronene as a model for graphene/graphitic surface and interstellar reaction surface have been computed at the unrestricted B3LYP/cc-pVDZ level of theory to elaborate on atomic O attack mechanism and chemisorption on coronene. The PECs were generated by scanning the O atom distance to the closest carbon atom on "top" and "bridge" positions in the coronene, while fully relaxed geometries in the triplet state were investigated to gain the energy profile. We found that the most favorable geometry as the final product was the chemically bound O on the "bridge" site in the singlet state with an interaction energy of –29.2 kcal/mol. We recommended a plausible mechanism of atomic O attack and chemisorption reaction on coronene or generally graphitic surface starting from the non-interacting O atom and coronene systems into the chemically bound O atom on coronene.

Abstract

The effects of dopant content and calcination temperature on Mn-doped TiO2-ZrO2 structure and properties were successfully investigated. Composite of Mn-doped titania-zirconia was synthesized by sol-gel method. Titanium(IV) isopropoxide was used as the precursor of TiO2, while zirconiapowder was used as another semiconductor. MnCl2∙4H2O was used as the source of dopant in this study. Various amounts of manganese were incorporated into TiO2-ZrO2 and calcination was performed at temperatures of 500, 700 and 900 °C. Synthesized composites were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), specular reflectance UV-Vis spectroscopy (SR UV-Vis), X-ray diffraction method (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy equipped with X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDX). The results showed that Mn-doped TiO2-ZrO2 with the lowest bandgap (2.78 eV) was achieved with 5% of Mn dopant and calcined at 900 °C, while Mn-doped TiO2-ZrO2 with the highest bandgap (3.12 eV) was achieved with 1% of Mn dopant content calcined at 500 °C.

Abstract

Women's Farmers Group (KWT) Nira Lestari became one of the groups engaged in the use of coconuts. Products produced by KWT Nira Lestari include liquid sugar, ant sugar, VCO and liquid smoke. The processing of products on KWT is not fully optimal, the liquid smoke produced cannot be used as a food aroma such as the function of liquid smoke in general because the processed results of liquid smoke are still pitch black and contain carcinogen compounds. This activity aims to design a liquid smoke redefiment technology at KWT partner Nira Lestari. The methods used include a specific review of the needs and potential of partners, preparation of implementation, technology design, analysis of tool concept design, video creation of program implementation, creation of product application playbook, and evalusai with partners. The results achieved from this activity are in the form of a design of liquid smoke distillation technology, video and application usage manual. The design of this distillation technology design is expected to be applied independently by partners, thus becoming a tool that has the potential to improve the quality of liquid smoke products and increase partner productivity.

Abstract

Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Nira Lestari merupakan usaha mikro yang bergerak di bidang pengolahan kelapa. Produk yang dihasilkan oleh usaha ini yaitu diantaranya asap cair, VCO, gula semut, dan gula cair. Produk gula cair yang di produksi mitra memiliki umur simpan yang rendah. Masalah yang dialami mitra disebabkan karena adanya cemaran berupa mikroba sehingga terjadi penurunan mutu pada waktu tertentu akibat fermentasi. Sterilisator kemasan “Veganektar” merupakan alat yang dirancang untuk mengurangi cemaran sehingga mampu meningkatkan kualitas gula cair produksi mitra. Langkah-langkah yang dilakukan dalam pembuatan Sterilisator kemasan “Veganektar” yaitu: survey kebutuhan mitra, persiapan, desain alat, pembuatan alat, uji coba alat, penerapan alat dan pendampingan pasca produksi. Spesifikasi dari alat sterilisator yaitu berupa box UV, timer setting dan badan filler semi otomatis. Hasil perubahan di mitra yaitu terjaganya mutu gula cair sehingga mampu meningkatkan umur simpan dan terjadi peningkatan produksi gula cair “Veganektar”. Implementasi sterilisator di mitra akan memudahkan proses pengemasan di mitra dan meningkatkan umur simpan gula cair sehingga produktivitas serta pendapatan mitra meningkat

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of parameters on characteristic and increase stability; determine the optimum conditions to get the best nanoemulsion characteristic in the form of the smallest droplet size; find out the effectivity to inhibit Aspergillus fumigatus growth and to kill Lichens. The nanoemulsion formulation was made by using Spontaneous Emulsification of Low Energy method and it was designed by Taguchi statistical method. The parameter of analysis are organoleptic, pH, thermal stability test, freeze-thaw cycle, mechanical stability test, turbidity, polydispersity index (PdI), and particle size test. The antifungal test was carried out by applying nanoemulsions in a laboratory scale to Aspergillus fumigatus and in natural cultures by spraying nanoemulsions directly on lichen in Borobudur Temple rocks off. Nanoemulsion was successfully obtained with droplet sizes of 13.40-28.97 nm. The SNES ratio and the stirring rate had an effect on resulting nanoemulsion, while the stirring time had a less significant effect. The optimum conditions for making nanoemulsions were obtained which resulted in the best composition in a form of the smallest droplet size (13.11 nm with PdI value of 0.337), namely at SNES ratio 1:8:1, time of 5 minutes, with stirring speed of 2800 rpm. This formula resulted in a minimum inhibitory concentration against Aspergillus fumigatus growth as an estimate of lemongrass oil. Nanoemulsion with a minimum concentration of oil 2.5% was effective to kill lichens and inhibit the growth of new lichens.

Abstract

Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Nira Lestari is a micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) engaged in coconut processing, including Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). VCO products produced by partners have low quality and quickly smell rancid. These problems are caused by the manual production process which causes a long production time, the inclusion of water that causes hydrolysis and the high volatile compounds in VCO. The purpose of this program is to design a centrifugation device and vacuum pump filter to increase the efficiency of partner production and eliminate rancid odor in the VCO produced. The method used in this service is a survey of partner needs, tool design, tool making, tool testing, tool application and product testing. The application of the two tools has been proven to help streamline partner production and eliminate rancidity. Laboratory test results of VCO after the use of the tool show that VCO has a moisture content of 0.0829% and a germ content of 0%.
