Abstract

Background: One of the biggest causes of maternal mortality is bleeding due to anemia. Pregnancy makes big changes to the body of a pregnant woman, one of the changes that occurs is the hematological system. Purpose : this study was to determine the effect of intake of boiled chicken eggs on increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women at the Melonguane Health Center, Talaud Islands District. Method : This type of research is quasi experiment using pre test-post test with one group design which was carried out on 19 samples determined by purposive sampling. Collecting data using a pre-test post-test checklist observation sheet and an observation checklist sheet for giving boiled chicken eggs. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon with a significance p value <0.05. Results: test Wilcoxon showed the effect of consuming boiled chicken eggs on a significant increase in hemoglobin levels of pregnant women with a ρ value of 0.001 <0.05. The average difference in hemoglobin levels before and after the intervention was 1.13. It is recommended that pregnant women consume boiled chicken eggs to help improve nutritional status in preventing anemia in pregnant women.

Abstract

Background: Labor pain is uterine contraction that perceived as a pain on back, abdominal and spread along to thigh area. Pain can be treated with pharmacological and non pharmacological method. Pharmacological method by giving drugs and non pharmacological method with scientific method such as foot SPA.. Objective: To understand the effectiveness of Foot SPA on pain intensity of active phase of 1st stage Labor Method: This is a quassi-experimental study with one group pre and posttest design which done to 15 samples, data was collected with observational form filled by researcher by doing an interview to respondent before and after getting Foot SPA. Data was analyzed with Wilcoxon Signed rank Test. Result: This study shows that on average the respondent’s pain intensity before get Foot SPA was 6.87 and decrease to 4.27 after getting Foot SPA. Analyzed data shows the p-value < 0.05 Conclusion: Foot SPA effective to decrease pain intensity of 1st stage active phase labor at Tuminting Public Health Center Manado. We advising Foot SPA to be a standardized health services as a new approach in labor pain management.
