Abstract

Key determination is one of the techniques used to identify and recognize tree species. Dipterocarpaceae is one of the tree families that has the highest number of species in Indonesia. This study aims to identify the species of Dipterocarpaceae present in theArboretum and make a key of determination. The method used in this research is to carry out a census of Dipterocarpaceae species starting from the seedling, sapling, pole and tree levels, determine the coordinates of the Dipterocarpaceae species, take a sample of several leaf twigs of Dipetrocarpaceae species, document the samples taken for make a determination key based on leaf morphology. The results showed that there are currently 32 species of Dipterocarpaceae consisting of seedlings, saplings, poles and trees, which belong to 8 genera namely Anisoptera, Cotylelobium, Dryobalanops and Hopea there is 1 species, Dipterocarpus and Vatica 2 species, Parashorea there are 2 species, Shorea there a re 21 species and. For the determination key, there are 20 stages in the manufacture for the clanShoreawhereas forNon Shorea 10 steps were used to make the key of determination, this stage was made from the morphology of the leaves in each Dipterocarpaceae species.

Abstract

The school yard is one of the public areas that can be used for various educational activities for students. Increasing the understanding of An Naas Islamic High School students regarding the environment, socialization and education were carried out through the delivery of material directly in the form of lectures and counseling to high school students, then training on sorting waste and planting trees around the school yard was carried out. Community service activities with partner students of SMA Islam An Naas have been carried out well and successfully. This is shown by the increasing knowledge of partners in socialization and environmental education to 94% by planting and caring so that trees grow well. Partners have maintained cleanliness by disposing of waste by sorting the waste first. Keywords: Environment, socialization, education, garbage, reforestation

Abstract

Sustainable forest utilization is one of the objectives of forest management activities. The participation of the community and parties in managing forests is optimal, especially in the Ghimbo Pomuan customary forest, which is very much needed in collecting data on customary forest resources. The survey activity is the collection of information about forest resources that requires the ability to navigate using GPS for customary forest communities as forest managers. Also, being able to operate mapping applications such as ArcGIS is very necessary in order to be able to know the potential of the area in a comprehensive manner. The activity method given to partners is delivering material, discussion, demonstration, and evaluation. Submission of materials on navigation in the forestry sector, use of GPS and mapping. After the material was delivered, it was followed by demonstrations on the use of GPS and mapping training. In this community service activity, mentoring and evaluation activities are also carried out to measure the level of knowledge and skills of partners before and after community service activities are carried out. Based on the results of community service activities that have been carried out, there has been an increase in the knowledge and understanding of the surrounding community about how to use GPS and ArcGIS for managers of the Ghimbo Pomuan Customary Forest area, from 43.33% ignorant and 36.11% ignorant to 93.34% knowledgeable and 6.66% know.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health (OSH) issues in the Indonesian forestry sector have not been addressed properly even though activities in this sector pose a high risk of OSH disorders. The standard instrument (applies on a national scale) to ensure OSH protection in each business units is the Sistem Manajemen K3 (SMK3, Government Regulation Numbered 50 Year 2012). At present, not many forest management units in Indonesia are willing to implement integrated SMK3, because of the assumption that SMK3 is a cost-centered activity. This study aims to present an overview of SMK3 implementation cost (for 64, 122, and 166 criteria) in a Forest Management Unit (FMU) X, as well as analyzing financial capacity of the FMU X to allocate sufficient funds for the SMK3 implementation. The results showed that the Acacia mangium plantation in the FMU X is a feasible business, indicated by the Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR377,690,545, Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR) 3.96, and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) 25.02%. Further analysis shows that FMU X has good financial ability to support any cost required in implementating SMK3. It is the best for the FMU X to implement 166 criteria (advanced level) of SMK3 (at a cost of IDR704,598/ha/year, NPV ofIDR376,393,262, BCR 3.92, and IRR 24.75%).

Abstract

Community forestry (HKm) is one of the forestry sector revitalization policies as part of the social forestry program. Beting Village formed a Hkm group to support the acceleration of economic development and improve the structure of the mangrove forest that had been reduced. This study aims to identify the socio-economic conditions of the members of the Banau Bisa Maju Cooperative, the level of participation of the members of the Banau Bisa Maju Cooperative in HKm management, and the institutional management of the Banau Bisa Maju Cooperative. The research method is using survey methods, interviews and observations. The total number of members of the Banau Bisa Maju cooperative is 74 respondents. Data analysis was done descriptively. The results showed that the social conditions of the members of the Banau Bisa Maju Cooperative have an interaction with forest resources by taking mangrove forest products. The economic condition of the cooperative members' welfare value is classified as good. Member participation in the Banau Bisa Maju Cooperative's business license has three aspects of success, namely the ecological aspect with an average score of 133 medium categories, the economic aspect an average score of 150 moderate categories and social aspects an average score of 155 moderate categories. Institutional management so that human resources are good to maintain the quality of their work in good and correct forest management techniques is the existence of coaching with counseling by the FMU.

Abstract

Sustainable forest management and support for the preservation of honey bee cultivation habitat requires collecting forest potential by measuring tree dimensions and presenting them on tree information labels. Furthermore, partners also do not have the knowledge and skills regarding measuring tree dimensions, namely measuring tree diameter and height and making QR Code tree information labels. Therefore, the service team provides a solution by increasing partners' knowledge by holding socialization about the meaning and benefits of measuring tree dimensions, the tools used in measuring tree dimensions. The team also improved partner skills by providing training on measuring tree dimensions and making QR Code tree information labels. The stages of community service carried out are the socialization of the meaning and benefits of measuring tree dimensions, the tools used in measuring tree dimensions, the advantages and disadvantages of tree dimension measurement tools and how to use tree dimension measurement tools. The team also conducted training on using tree dimension measurement tools, making QR Code tree information labels containing species, families, Latin and local names, tree coordinates, tree uses and photos with practice and field assistance as well as evaluations using questionnaires and observing partners' skills. After the service is completed, partners have or increase their knowledge about tree diameter and height, tools used for measuring tree diameter and height, how to use phiband and hagameter and knowledge of making QR Code tree labels of 89.16%. Partners have also been able to measure tree dimensions and make QR Code tree labels according to the knowledge they have received.
