Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of a hyaluronic acid fabrication project by extraction and isolation of the fish eyeball, and we evaluated the results from an engineering and economic perspective. Engineering analysis was analyzed based on tools and raw materials that are available on e-commerce. The economic analysis was done using several economic parameters, such as gross profit margin, the length of time required for an investment to return the total initial expenditure, the condition of a production project in the form of a production function in years, project benefits, and so on. The production of Hyaluronic Acid nanoparticles has good prospects. Technical analysis of producing 50.4 g/L of Hyaluronic Acid nanoparticles per day shows the total cost of the equipment purchased to be 20,726 USD. The investment will be profitable after more than four years and compete with the capital market standard. To ensure the feasibility of a manufacturing project, the project is estimated from ideal conditions to the worst conditions in production activities, including raw materials, utilities, sales, labor, and external conditions. The project is prospective and profitable in the small-scale industry, confirmed by positive values in all economic parameters).

Abstract

Sampah plastik adalah jenis sampah yang sulit terurai oleh mikroorganisme karena memiliki rantai karbon yang panjang, sehingga permasalahan sampah ini sangat mengkhawatirkan Oleh karena itu kami mempunyai sebuah solusi yang berbeda yaitu TAJUR KREASI (Tas Rajut Kresek Anti Air) sebagai inovasi pemanfaatan sampah plastik. TAJUR KREASI ini merupakan sebuah komunitas yang akanmengolah sampah-sampah plastik khususnya kantong plastik menjadi kerajinan tangan yang memiliki nilai jual. Ini merupakan Program Kegiatan Mahasiswa bidang Pengabdian Masyarakat dilakukan di Desa Manonjaya, Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Program ini dilaksanakan pada 1 Juni 2021 hingga 22 Agusutus 2021 yang berkolaborasi dengan kelompok masyarakat Patriot yang merupakan program daripemerintah Provinsi Jawa Barat dalam membangun desa-desa di Jawa Barat. Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan diketahui Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa Pengabdian Masyarakat TAJUR KREASI dapat mengispirasi masyarakat untuk mengolah sampah plastik menjadi barang yang memiliki nilai guna seperti tas rajut. Pelatihan ini juga meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat dalam kegiatan merajut.

Abstract

Hyaluronic acid (HA), as a food supplement and drug, is a glycosaminoglycan which is a linear polysaccharide formed from covalently bonded disaccharide units. HA is a polysaccharide formed from repeating units of a disaccharide composed of N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (GalNAc) and D-glucuronic acid (GlcA) with a high molecular weight of between 105 and 108 Da, which are linked alternately by glycosidic bonds (1→ 3) and link(1→4). This structure allows hyaluronic acid to retain large amounts of water and its pseudoplastic fluid properties make hyaluronic acid widely used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Sources of hyaluronic acid material can be found from various types of bacteria, land, or marine animals. The purpose of this paper is to present various reviews of hyaluronic acid synthesis methods and determine which method is the most efficient one to do. This review paper contains several research papers from 1934 to 2019 which discuss several methods of hyaluronic acid synthesis including extraction, separation, purification, fermentation, and isolation. Comparison of results shows that the best methods are the repeated batch fermentation and separation because the materials used are quite easy to find and the process is novel yet easy with the high pure products and does not require a long time to obtain HA nanoparticles

Abstract

Hyaluronic acid (C14H21NO11)n is one of the drugs components, a natural polysaccharide compound that makes up connective tissue and is soluble in water. HA can be applied in cosmetic, biomedical, and food industries. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of a hyaluronic acid manufacturing project through repeated batch fermentation using Streptococcus zooepidemicus and then evaluating from an engineering and economic perspective. Engineering analysis was analyzed based on the available tools and raw materials in online web. The economic analysis was done using several economic parameters, such as the length of time required for an investment to return the total initial expenditure (PBP), the condition of a production project in the form of a production function in years (CNPV), project benefits and so on. The results showed that the production of Hyaluronic Acid nanoparticles was very prospective. Technical analysis to produce 86.4 g/liter of HA nanoparticles per day shows the total cost of the equipment purchased to be 7,264.51 USD. PBP analysis shows that investment will be profitable after more than three years. This project can compete with PBP capital market standards because of the short investment returns. To ensure the feasibility of a project, the project is estimated from ideal conditions to the worst case in production, including labor, sales, raw materials, utilities, and external conditions. The analysis concluded that the present project for the production of Hyaluronic acid nanoparticles is prospective in small scale industry and profitable (by positive values in all economic parameters).
