Abstract

Abstract

This study was based on the advantages that faced by the Industrial Engineering Study Programme Students when follow lecture in Mathematical field. This study was a quasi research with using the one group retest-postest design. This study aims to analyze the gain of students’ combinatoric thinking ability through cooperative learning model type Jigsaw in Differential Application topic at Calculus course. The research sample are 30 students of Industrial Engineering Study Programme. The independent variable in this study was combinatoric thinking ability, while the dependent variable was cooperative learning model type Jigsaw. This study used the combinatoric thinking ability test instrument that has testet about its validity, reability, the difficulty level and the differentiator power. The research result showed that there was a gain of student’s combinatoric thinking ability through cooperative learning model type Jigsaw with n-gain value is 0.56 point and on medium level. The number of students who has combinatoric thinking ability was increased from 6 people to 14 people. The lecturer and the student’s activities have followed the rule of cooperative learning model type Jigsaw as well therefore it can improve student’s combinatoric thinking ability.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see the acceptance of science teachers to the use of zoom in carrying out learning in accordance with the nature of science within the framework of the technology acceptance model. This research is a quantitative research with data analysis techniques using descriptive techniques and path analysis. The research population was 34 science teachers who were members of the science teacher association (PPII) in the Riau region, with a sample of 27 teachers who used zoom when teaching. The variables studied in this study were selected from 4 variables from the TAM framework, namely: perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), behavioral intention to use (BIU) and, actual technology use (ATU). The results of the study show that the teacher's perception of zoom is seen by the PU, PEOU, and BIU variables in the high category, because zoom is easy to use and can facilitate the implementation of learning in accordance with the nature of science. While the ATU in the low category is due to the influence of other factors such as the network. Path analysis showed a significant relationship between the following variables: 1) PEOU and PU, 2) PU and BIU, 3) PEOU and BIU, and 4) BIU and ATU.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and competence of participants in facing the SKB test, especially in the fields of teaching practice and interviews. The method of this activities is training and mentoring. This activity consists of three stages, namely the stages of preparation, implementation, and reporting. At the preparation stage, the service team conducted a needs analysis with a qualitative approach as the first step for developing service material. At the implementation stage, training was carried out via a zoom meeting with 2 presenters, followed by mentoring via whatsapp group. One of the instruments used in this service is a checklist of learning tools prepared by participants to face the teaching practice test. The results of this PKM activity was known that all participants already knew 3 types of tests on the SKB, knew the grid of test materials, knew the tools that needed to be prepared, and knew about the tridharma of higher education which is one of the main test materials as well as the obligations of lecturers.  Based on the entries on the checklist, it was also known that participants had been able to find RPS, compile teaching materials and learning media that would be displayed during the teaching practice test. Furthermore, out of ten participants, two have successfully graduated as CPNS in 2021. These results show that the mentoring activities carried out were quite successful.

Abstract

Becoming a professional teacher requires qualified teaching skills. To hone their teaching skills, students are required to take micro teaching courses. During the pandemic, micro teaching courses were carried out online, therefore the course lecturers used various applications for the smooth running of lectures. This study is a descriptive study that aims to analyze student acceptance of the use of various applications in microteaching learning with the TAM approach and then see their readiness as prospective educators for generation z and generation alpha which are known as the very technology literate generation. The study was conducted on 66 students who took microteaching courses even semester 2020/2021. Based on the slovin formula, the samples taken were 57 people. From the results of research data processing, it was found that the average value of the seven successive variables was as follows, 3.21 for distance learning self-efficacy(SE), 2.65 for lack of time (LT), 3.19 for complexity (C ), 3.07 for perceived usefulness (PU), 2.9 for perceived ease of use (PEOU), 6) 3.17 for behavioral intention to use (BIU), and 3.08 for actual technology use (ATU). The results of the analysis show that distance learning self-efficacy is in the high category (indicated by 51 students in the high category, 5 quite low, and 1 low)

Abstract

The 21st century is known for its rapid technological developments, one of which is the development of digital technology. This digital technology has penetrated various fields, including education. This research aims examine the level of digital literacy and its influence on students' 21st century skills from a gender perspective. This research method is a quantitative method. The research population is active students of the Tadris Physics study program who are currently attending lectures in the first to fourth years. The research sample consisted of 38 students (19 male students and 19 female students), selected using the quota sampling technique. Data collection in this research was carried out using questionnaires and interviews. The research instruments are 2 main questionnaires that can gather information about students' digital literacy levels and students' achievement of 21st century skills. Data analysis was conducted by calculating the average score for students' digital literacy and 21st century skills based on gender. Furthermore, an analysis of the relationship between digital literacy and students' 21st century skills will also be carried out. The relationship between the two variables was analyzed using a simple regression test. The results of data analysis show that the level of digital literacy and 21st century abilities of students is in the “good” category. However, for both variables there are no significant differences between male and female students with the significance values of the difference test results for digital literacy and 21st century skills being 0.125 and 0.747 respectively (both greater than 0.05). Furthermore, the results of the regression analysis revealed a statiscally significant positive influence of digital literacy on students' 21st century skills, with an F-value of 20.145 and a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05.
