Abstract

Sawahan Village is one of the villages in Central Java that is included in the Urban Fringe area. Its location in the Urban Fringe area causes high land conversion activities in the village. Land function change activities have a direct impact on the smaller site of Green Open Space which then affects reducing tree biodiversity in Sawahan Village. Therefore, this study was conducted to achieve an inventory of the species in Sawahan Village and to determine the diversity and composition of invasive alien plants in the vegetation community in Sawahan Village. The research combines qualitative and quantitative description methods with data collection techniques through field surveys using sample plots. The entire sample plots used were 38 plots with a size of 20x20m, carried out in 15 blocks in Sawahan Village. The results showed that the tree species found in Sawahan Village were 47, with a total of 1,724 individuals. Arecaceae and Myrtaceae is the most dominant family in Sawahan Village with each family has a total of as many species as five Species. At the species level, Musa acuminata Colla, which belongs to the Musaceae family, is the plant species with the highest Important Value Index (IVI), with a value of 31.39%.

Abstract

This study uses the pollutant index method to determine the form of river utilization by the surrounding community and the level of river water pollution. The research method used in this study is qualitative and quantitative analysis. Qualitative descriptive analysis method is used to analyze the form of river utilization by the community. Analysis of river water quality used quantitative method which refers to the Decree of the Minister of Environment 115/2003 concerning Determination of Water Quality Status using the Pollution Index (PI) method. The results of the analysis show that the community uses the Pepe River as a source of water and rainwater storage, waste disposal sites, fishing grounds, drainage channels, and agricultural irrigation. So that it has the potential to experience water pollution due to the entry of domestic-industrial waste. Based on PI, the flow of the Pepe River is proven to be lightly polluted, with the results of several parameter measurements showing results above the quality standard. Therefore, one of the recommendations that can be applied to overcome these problems is to develop the concept of Community-Based Development by involving the active role of all society levels in planning and implementing river management and development activities.

Abstract

Sawahan Village is one of the villages in Ngemplak District, Boyolali, traversed by a sapling of the Bengawan Solo River, namely the Pepe River. On the riverbanks, most of the area is overgrown with various plants, especially bamboo. Therefore, the location was chosen because it is a location that is overgrown with many bamboo plants and is easy to reach. This study aims to determine the types of bamboo, the distribution of bamboo, and the use of bamboo along the Pepe river flow in Sawahan Village. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. Meanwhile, the data collection technique is through direct data collection and interviews and with various other secondary data. The results showed that the geographical conditions in the bamboo growth area in the Pepe River flowing in Sawahan Village were irregular, with some regions experiencing erosion on the river's natural embankments. The types of bamboo found in this study are as many as 8, including Gigantochloa apus, Bambusa vulgaris, Dendrocalamus asper, Bambusa blumeana, Gigantochloa atter, Bambusa multiplex, Gigantochloa verticillata, and Dendrocalamus latiflorus Munro. The dominating utilization of bamboo is soil erosion resistance, building construction materials, raw materials for household furniture, livestock pens, bamboo shoots, and bamboo shoot utilization.
