Abstract

AbstractThis research was conducted because of the students that faced the difficulty in doing the story practice in math lesson.The difficulties that faced by students in the Va grade class at SD Negeri 98 Palembang was because of the students considered that mathematics was too much difficult, and they had to memorize a lot of formulas, especially the material for building blocks and cubes. Therefore, the aims of this study is to find out what are the difficulties that faced by the students in the Va grade class. Data collection techniques that used by the researcher in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. The data obtained were then analyzed using the qualitative descriptive research methods. The results of this study indicate that the level of students' understanding of mathematics subject material about cubes and blocks is included in the low category. As a result of the difficulties that researchers found while carrying out studies at SD Negeri 98 Palembang, students experience factual errors, concept, operation, and principles. Keywords: Student Difficulties, Story Problems, Elementary School Mathematics AbstrakPenelitian ini dilakukan karena adanya permasalahan siswa yang mengalamai kesulitan-kesulitan dalam mengerjakan soal cerita. Kesulitan yang dialami siswa kelas Va SD Negeri 98 Palembang ini dikarenakan siswa menganggap mata pelajaran matematika itu sulit, dan harus banyak menghafal rumus khususnya materi bangun ruang kubus dan balok. Jadi, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apa saja kesulitan-kesulitan yang dialami siswa Kelas Va SD Negeri 98 Palembang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan peneliti pada penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode penelitian deskrptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa tingkat pemahaman siswa terhadap mata pelajaran matematika materi soal cerita bangun ruang kubus dan balok termasuk kedalam kategori rendah. Kesulitan-kesulitan yang ditemukan peneliti pada saat melaksanakan penelitian di SD Negeri 98 Palembang yaitu siswa mengalami kesalahan fakta, kesalahan konsep, kesalahan operasi, dan kesalahan prinsip.Kata kunci: Kesulitan Siswa, Soal Cerita, Matematika Sekolah Dasar

Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning independence of grade V students of SD Negeri 11 Muara Telang in thematic learning. This research was carried out at SD Negeri 11 Muara Telang in grade V of the 2022/2023 school year. The approach in this study is a qualitative approach, with a descriptive method, which is supported by field assessments and references related to the theme discussed. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Data is analyzed by means of reduction, display and generalization or inference. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the learning independence of students at SD Negeri 11 Muara Telang has developed well. Students have high independence. Indicators of learning independence include confidence, active in learning, discipline in learning and responsibility in learning. Students who have high learning independence will try to complete tasks with their own abilities.
