Abstract

Moving water holds enormous natural energy. The energy that water has can be used as a drive for waterwheels or water turbines. The use of waterwheels can be used as the initial driver of the pump. Where the pump will raise water from the river to the higher ground. In Cipager village, Cirebon district has a Cipager river that has a heavy flow. With such river conditions, the energy owned by the Cipager River can be used to move the waterwheel which is then used as the initial driver of the pump. Without using electricity, villagers can use pumps to raise water from the river to higher ground. So that water needs can be met both for irrigating rice fields or fulfilling daily needs. The use of waterwheel as the initial drive of the pump needs good design and adapted to the conditions of the river flow. Data on the Cipager river condition with a flow velocity of 2.027 m / s and flowrate of 1850 L / s. for the design criteria selected undershot waterwheel. It was obtained for the size of the pinwheel design, 80 cm diameter, 12 cm blade length, 10 cm blade width with flat blade shape, 2 mm thick steel plate material and 2 mm shaft material. The windmill rotation was obtained at 48.34 rpm, the wheel power was 197.882 watts and the wheel weight was 58.8 N. While the power of the wheel used to drive the pump was only 5.18% of the total power of the windmill produced

Abstract

This research was conducted to find a solution to the problem of waste, especially organic waste which is generated from households and shopping centers, especially traditional markets. Many people do not understand how to deal with waste properly. The most common way that most people do is by burning organic waste. This has a negative impact on the environment and public health itself. Therefore it is necessary to do research on how this organic waste can be utilized for the benefit of society. One way to overcome the problem of organic waste is to make an organic waste chopper. The machine is equipped with a knife designed in such a way that it is capable of cutting to small sizes. In this study, this organic waste chopping machine will be used to produce pieces of waste which will then be used as biogas reactor material. To be continued in the process of making biogas. From the research results obtained the following machine specifications: Machine size with a length of 0.704 m, a width of 0.413 , and a height of 0.601 m. This organic waste shredder uses a motor with a power of 5.5 hp, a belt length of 798.47 mm, a drive pulley rotation of 2784.65 rpm and a blade rotation speed of 7.35 m/s.

Abstract

Pumps are fluid machines whose uses are very broad and important, ranging from industry to household needs. Selection of pump performance characteristics is very important and must be adjusted to the needs which include: discharge, head, power, and rotation. The performance characteristics of the pump are obtained through testing. In connection with the importance of information about pump performance characteristics, through this research activity efforts will be made to test centrifugal pumps using 3 hp of power. In this research, the data obtained from the direct test results will be entered, where the test is carried out at the Machine Performance Test Laboratory. In this test, the pump pressure data obtained from the gauge gradually with several valve openings, then the data is entered into the data table that has been prepared. The test was carried out to test the ability of the centrifugal pump test equipment using 3 HP power which was prepared as one of the laboratory pump test equipment for engine performance testing. In testing the centrifugal pump there are 3 variables that will be used to carry out the test, namely the first by using a tachometer which is useful for measuring shaft rotation, the second by using a Bordoun manometer which is useful for measuring fluid pressure, the third by using an orifice which functions to measure speed fluid.
