Abstract

This study aims to discuss the conflicts and violence that occurred in Sri Lanka and the potential for peace based on the thoughts of Johan Galtung. This research method is qualitative through literature study. The results and discussion of this study show that the theory of conflict and violence initiated by Johan Galtung is linear and can be applied to problems in Sri Lanka. This study concludes that the conflict resolution initiated by Johan Galtung opens up the potential for peacebuilding, which can then be applied to the problems of conflict and violence in Sri Lanka.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas teori konflik menurut para tokoh sosiologi serta implikasinya terhadap realitas sosial masa kini. Metode penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif melalui studi pustaka. Hasil dan pembahasan penelitian ini meliputi teori konflik menurut tokoh-tokoh sosiologi, realitas sosial masa kini, serta implikasi teori-teori konflik terhadap realitas sosial di masa kini. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa teori-teori konflik yang dicetuskan oleh para tokoh sosiologi berperan penting dalam menemukan solusi yang linier dengan permasalahan sosial di masa kini.

Abstract

The character and paradigm of the Indonesian nation in the contemporary era is experiencing many problems, one of which is the birth of the paradigm group of the liberal Indonesian society (MIL), the structuralist Indonesian society (MIS) and the marginalist Indonesian society (MIM) which later gave birth to implicit social inequality. Therefore, this study aims to discuss the three contemporary paradigms and their problems which are then combined with the insight of the archipelago and religious education to find solutions and their handling in efforts to build the character of the Indonesian nation in the contemporary era. This research uses qualitative methods through literature study as well as philosophical and sociological analysis of the phenomena that occur. The results of this study indicate that the insight of the archipelago and also religious education is an ideal solution in overcoming the problems of the Indonesian nation's paradigm in the contemporary era and has a central role in the development of the character of the Indonesian nation if its implementation can be maximized by means of character education which is as it should be.
