Abstract

The prevalence of dental caries aged 0-16 years in Indonesia is very high, namely 90%. Vargas, Crall, and Schneider from the United States reported that 61% of a sample of children aged 6-12 years had at least one primary tooth that had caries or filling. The aim of the research was to determine the effect of counseling using posters on learning to brush the teeth on changes in tooth brushing behavior in pre-school children. The research design was experimental using pre-post group intervention. The research sample was 48 respondents at Kindergarten Santa Maria Pare. The independent variable is education using tooth brushing posters, while the dependent variable of the research is tooth brushing behavior. The research instrument used tooth brushing posters for education and behavioral questionnaires. The analysis test uses the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that there was an influence of counseling using posters on learning to brush your teeth on changes in tooth brushing behavior in pre-school children (p=0.000). Health institutions in UKGS activities can provide education using tooth brushing posters in schools on a regular basis.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia due to abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulin action or both. The number of DM sufferers globally increases every year, the causes include increasing population, age, obesity, and lack of physical activity. Preventive measures that can be taken include education and regular health checks. To increase knowledge and understanding of elderly about hypertension and diabetes, one of the efforts made is to provide health education about hypertension and diabetes, as well as screening elderly in Pelem Village, Kediri District. In this activity, the results showed that there was increasing knowledge about diabetes of elderly, which was the addition of information and insight about health and provided a clear description for elderly regarding the prevention and management of diabetes through counseling and educational media in the form of leaflets.

Abstract

Investigasi Kontak merupakan kegiatan pelacakan dan investigasi yang ditujukan pada orang-orang yang kontak dengan pasien TB (indeks kasus) untuk menemukan terduga TB. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberdayakan kader kesehatan dalam melakukan investigasi kasus TB di kecamatan Pare Kabupaten Kediri Tahun 2024. Metode: Pemberdayaan kader kesehatan melalui kegiatan simulasi dan praktik investigasi kasus serta pendampingan bagi kader. Hasil kegiatan: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini telah melatih 20 orang kader kesehatan untuk dapat melakukan investigasi kasus TB. Investigasi kontak dilaksanakan terhadap 5 kasus indek, 57 rumah dan 217 jiwa. Kegiatan yang dilakukan pengkajian kasus indeks, kunjungan rumah kontak kasus indeks, skrining TB, penyuluhan tentang TB, pendampingan dan pemantauan serta pelaporan. Saran: Diharapkan kepada kader kesehatan yang telah dilatih untuk dapat menerapkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang telah diperoleh dalam penanganan kasus TB dengan tetap berkoordinasi dengan pihak puskesmas dan pemerintah setempat.
