Abstract

The purpose of this research is to test the Discovery Learning Model on the Material of the Human Digestive System. The discovery learning model was chosen because it provides opportunities for each student to actively participate in discovering concepts through concrete examples, pictures, and information from books. This research is an action research (action research), because the research was conducted to solve learning problems in the classroom. This research also includes descriptive research, because it describes how a learning technique is applied and how the desired results can be achieved. This research was conducted from September to November 2019. From this study it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning Model can increase learning motivation in the digestive system material in humans in class VIII-A students of SMP Negeri 2 Pare Kediri Regency odd semester of the 2019/2020 Academic Year of 42, 85%, where in cycle 1 it increased by 50% to 92.85% in cycle 2. The Discovery Learning model can improve learning outcomes in the digestive system material in humans for class VIII-A students of SMP Negeri 2 Pare, Kediri Regency, odd semester of the 2019/2020 Academic Year which is shown in the increase in classical completeness of 15.38% where in cycle 1 it was 74.36% increasing to 89.74% in cycle 2. The increase in classical completeness was also followed by an increase in the class average value of 7.34 from 75.76 in cycle 1 to 83.1 in cycle 2.

Abstract

This study aims to describe science with the application of the Visual Media method which can improve student achievement in the material Effort and Style. This study used a Class Action Design (PTK) which consisted of two cycles. Research data collection was carried out from September to November 2022. The results of the research in the form of student learning activities and achievements were obtained through tests at the end of each cycle. The results showed that students' interest increased by (14.58%) in cycle 1, from 68.42% to 83% in cycle 2. In increasing learning achievement, the number of students who met the KKM standard in cycle 1 was 22 students (59 %), and students who met the KKM standard in cycle 2 were 34 students (95%). The percentage increase was 36% from cycle 1. So it can be concluded that the application of the Visual Media method can improve student achievement in class VIII-I SMP Negeri 2 Pare on the subject of Business and Style.

Abstract

The results of monitoring the learning process and the results of the questionnaire given to class IX-D students of SMP Negeri 2 Pare, Kediri Regency, showed that students' abilities were still low in science subjects. Many students experience difficulties, especially in the matter of Inheritance of Traits in Living Things. This results in low quality of teaching and learning activities and test scores. The low quality of teaching and learning activities and test scores will have an impact on low student achievement. After examining in depth the cause of the low ability of students is the teacher's habits that dominate learning activities. Teachers assume that students will not gain knowledge if they do not transfer the knowledge they have, and assume that learning that focuses on student activities (student center) is only troublesome and results in learning objectives not being achieved. This study aims to describe natural science with the application of the STAD model which can improve science learning achievement in the subject of Inheritance of Traits in Living Things. This study used a Classroom Action Research design consisting of two cycles. Research data collection was carried out from August to October 2018. Research in the form of student activities and student achievement was obtained through tests at the end of each cycle. The results showed that students' interest increased by (14%) in cycle 1, from 70% to 84% in cycle 2. In increasing learning achievement, the number of students who met KKM standards in cycle 1 was 24 students with a mastery percentage of 66%, and students who were declared to have met the KKM standard in cycle 2 were 35 students with a completeness percentage of 97%. The percentage increase is 31% from cycle 1. So it can be concluded that the application of the STAD model can improve student achievement in class IX-D SMP Negeri 2 Pare on the material Inheritance of Traits in Living Things.
