Abstract

Community Service (PkM) is carried out by the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Methodist Indonesia by providing counselling the effect of Narcotics and Drug abuse. PkM was held on 8-11 June 2022 at Lumban Pea Timur, Balige,Toba District, North Sumatera. The method used is to provide counselling/lectures and provide motivation, then followed by question and answer to obtain results and solutions as a form of solving problems and obstacles faced. The results of PkM with counselling are very effective considering that there are still many people who do not get information about Narcotics and Drug abuse. With this counselling, the public becomes aware of the Narcotics and Drugs abuse problem. Thus, it is hoped that the people of Lumban Pea Timur will aware and know how to prevent their community from Narcotics and drug abuse.

Abstract

Background. Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a form of histological abnormality of the enlarged prostate gland where there is a proliferation of stromal cells in the prostate. Clinical manifestations of BPH disease can include disruption of urine flow (micturition), difficulty urinating and the desire to urinate but the urine is weak. BPH is a problem commonly suffered by men over the age of 60 years. This study aims to get a description of the characteristics of BPH patients in Lubuk Pakam General Hospital on the Deli Serdang Regency for period of 2016-2017. Methods. This research is a retrospective descriptive study with a cross-sectional design in Lubuk Pakam General Hospital on the Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, from January 2016 to December 2017. Using the total sampling technique obtained 95 samples based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data obtained from medical records. Results. The most age-based BPH patients were the 61-70 year age group, 41 people (43.2%). The prostate volume in most BPH patients are in the prostate volume group > 60.00-80.00 ml which are 29 people (30.5%). BPH sufferers based on the most symptoms are complaints are difficult urination of 36 people (37.9%). Summary. Based on the results of research in the medical record Installation of Lubuk Pakam General Hospital on the Deli Serdang Regency for the period of January 2017-December 2018, it can be concluded that the most age group of BPH patients is the age group 61-70 years. And the main clinical symptoms s most often found are difficult urinating.

Abstract

Stunting is a situation where a child's height is stunted compared to the height of children his age. In Indonesia, stunting is a problem in the health sector that is still high. This condition occurs because children are malnourished for a long time with signs of failure in the child's growth and development (growth faltering) which starts from pregnancy until the child is 2 years old. This is the formulation of our problem in holding outreach activities on the topic of Stunting at SD Negeri 060919, Kec. Medan Sunggal, Medan city. This article was created with the aim of providing education and information regarding stunting prevention. Thus, this activity is very useful in providing information about how to prevent and reduce the incidence of stunting. It is hoped that this activity will be carried out at SD Negeri 060919, Kec. Medan Sunggal, Medan City to pay more attention to the nutritional intake of mothers and children, so that the incidence of stunting in Indonesia is reduced.
