<![CDATA[This study aims to find out how the revision of the Corruption Eradication Commission Law of Indonesia was represented on the language realized in Jakarta Post online news using a critical discourse analysis approach. Discussion on the revision of Law No.30 of 2002 concerning the Corruption Eradication Commission (UU KPK) is currently one of the main topics being discussed in the community. As the effect of pros and cons of this issue, some of media broadcast the demonstrations that were carried out by students in several regions in Indonesia last September. They demanded the cancellation of the revision of the KPK which was considered not in favor of the people. There are a number of points that have become controversial, so that they are the substance of the demands to conduct such demonstration. One of the online media that publishes this issue is Jakarta Post. In the study of discourse analysis, the critical discourse analysis of the Van Dijk model is one model that views language as related to power, ideology, and politics on media. Based on this, it is important to do an analysis of Van Dijk's critical discourse on the issue of Indonesian Law Revision of Corruption Eradication Commission that has been such controversy for these past several months because most of citizens disagree it. In conducting this research, qualitative descriptive design will be used as the research design, with observation as a method of data collection. The data of this study are linguistic units such as; words, phrases, clauses, sentences, etc. Thus, this research analyze three structures which have become the basic of the theory used, they are; macro structure analysis, super structure analysis, and micro structure analysis. The findings of this study show that Jakarta Post highlights the rule of process ratification of the Corruption Eradication Commission law revision in Indonesia government; It explains reason why that revision weakens the Corruption Eradication Commission as an independent institution in Indonesia, and; Jakarta Post represents Indonesian people that still expect the cancellation of the revision in order to enforce the maximum law against handling corruption in Indonesia.]]>
